Intrado acquired Vancouver, Washington-based event-technology company Hubb on August 13, 2021. Hubb built software for planning and running in-person, virtual, and hybrid events; the purchase price was not disclosed. Intrado Digital Media later became Notified, Hubb was folded into that brand, and Hubb’s archived company page says its standalone platform was retired in 2022.
What Intrado acquired
Intrado Corporation’s Digital Media business described Hubb as a leader in hybrid-event-management technology when it announced the acquisition. The announcement characterized the transaction as a way to combine Hubb’s event-management software with Intrado’s virtual-event and communications capabilities. Intrado used broad promotional language about creating an end-to-end and omnichannel offering; those descriptions were the buyer’s strategic claims, not an independent market ranking.
The acquisition announcement did not disclose financial terms. No reliable purchase price should be inferred from funding history, customer references, or later performance. Intrado’s announcement records the date, parties, rationale, and undisclosed terms.
What Hubb’s software did
Hubb addressed the operational work around an event, rather than functioning only as a videoconferencing or livestream product. Its archived company description lists workflows spanning the event lifecycle:
#1 Best Overall
- Event and conference planning
- Speaker management, call-for-speakers and abstract workflows, and speaker or session grading
- Session, agenda, and attendee-schedule management
- Exhibitor and sponsor management
- Staffing management and event marketing
- Mobile experiences and virtual, onsite, and hybrid delivery
- Event-content management, engagement, and analytics
Intrado said Hubb helped organizers streamline time-consuming processes, manage event data, improve engagement, generate insights, and personalize experiences. Those are product claims made in the acquisition announcement, not independently measured outcomes. Hubb’s archived LinkedIn page identifies the company as founded in 2015 and based in Vancouver, Washington: Hubb’s company archive.
Why the timing mattered
The deal arrived during the pandemic-era shift from physical conferences toward virtual and hybrid programs. Hubb had historically concentrated on in-person events but expanded its virtual-event technology as organizers moved meetings online. GeekWire reported that Hubb’s business grew 500% in 2020, a company-reported figure that the publication attributed to Hubb rather than audited financial data: GeekWire’s acquisition coverage.
COVID-19 helps explain the acceleration into virtual events, but Intrado framed the acquisition more broadly: the companies wanted to serve an event market spanning physical, digital, and hybrid experiences. The transaction therefore reflected both an immediate change in demand and a longer-term effort to assemble a broader event-technology stack.
Who Hubb was
GeekWire identified Allie Magyar as Hubb’s founder and CEO and reported customers including Microsoft, AT&T, and HubSpot. Those customer references describe Hubb’s reported customer base around the acquisition; they do not establish that each organization remained a customer after integration. The LinkedIn archive’s 51–200 employee range is historical and should not be read as a current headcount.

Intrado Digital Media already offered virtual-event and communications technology. Hubb added deeper planning and content workflows: speakers, abstracts, sessions, agendas, sponsors, exhibitors, attendee schedules, and engagement data. The strategic logic was to cover more of the event lifecycle through a combined offering rather than pair a virtual broadcast tool with separate event-operations software.
Potential benefits included stronger hybrid-event coverage, additional event-planning expertise, and opportunities to combine event services with Intrado’s public-relations and investor-relations offerings. The outcome depended on integrating products, data, contracts, and support successfully; the announcement does not establish a particular revenue increase, customer-growth rate, or technical-performance result.

What happened after the acquisition
Intrado Digital Media became Notified
Later in 2021, Intrado Digital Media announced a rebrand to Notified for its events, public-relations, and investor-relations offerings. Its event product was renamed Notified Event Cloud. The company’s rebrand FAQ said Hubb would become part of the Notified brand, while the Hubb website and email addresses would remain active temporarily during integration: Notified’s rebrand FAQ.
The transition timeline
The FAQ said Hubb-issued Intrado email addresses would change to Notified addresses on October 31, 2021, and that Hubb branding was expected to change in early 2022. It does not document a feature-by-feature transfer showing that every Hubb capability survived unchanged.

Standalone Hubb status
Hubb’s archived LinkedIn page says the platform was retired in 2022: the archived Hubb page. The careful conclusion is that Hubb was integrated into Notified and that the standalone platform was later retired, rather than that Hubb remains an independent product available for new sign-ups.

Organizations looking for Hubb should evaluate current Notified offerings or alternative event platforms, not assume that a standalone Hubb subscription is still available. The right replacement depends on whether the requirement is registration, virtual production, onsite operations, or a full event-management suite.
| Vendor | Strongest use case | Pricing visibility | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notified Event Cloud | Integrated event and communications programs | Not publicly established in the reviewed sources | Current Hubb-to-Notified feature continuity requires confirmation |
| Cvent | Complex enterprise registration, onsite operations, exhibitors, sponsors, and reporting | Quote required; see Cvent pricing | May be excessive for a small one-off event |
| Bizzabo | Recurring event portfolios and conferences | Pricing page showed $499 per user per month billed annually, three-user minimum, and a $17,999 annual starting price when observed; verify current terms at Bizzabo pricing | Published minimum commitment can be unsuitable for casual organizers |
| Zoom Events | Zoom-centered virtual and hybrid programs | Zoom documents pay-per-attendee options and a $2.50 overage per attendee beyond the prepaid allocation; see Zoom support and Zoom Events pricing | May not replace advanced exhibitor, sponsor, abstract-review, housing, or onsite workflows |
Before selecting a platform, check support for speaker submissions and abstract review, agenda building, sponsor and exhibitor management, mobile apps, check-in, data export, privacy terms, integrations, production services, and pricing based on users, events, registrations, attendees, or annual minimums.
Do not confuse Hubb with Hubbell
Hubb, the event-software company, is unrelated to Hubbell Incorporated, the publicly traded electrical-equipment manufacturer whose ticker is HUBB. Hubbell’s SEC filings concern electrical infrastructure, not Intrado’s acquisition. Relevant filings include Hubbell’s annual filing and the 2026 filing index.

Bottom line on the transaction
Intrado’s August 13, 2021 acquisition bought event-management depth at a moment when organizers were moving rapidly between physical and virtual formats. Hubb supplied the planning, content, speaker, sponsor, exhibitor, attendee, and engagement layers that complemented Intrado’s virtual-event infrastructure. The business subsequently moved into Notified, and the archived Hubb page says the standalone platform was retired in 2022. That makes the deal a case study in event-technology consolidation, not a current standalone Hubb product launch.
