In a November 12, 2025 interview with Gizmochina, Indkal Technologies CEO Anand Dubey described Wobble as a new India-designed, India-manufactured consumer-electronics brand. Its planned first smartphone was scheduled for November 19, 2025, with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor, near-stock Android, a camera-led pitch and at least three years of software updates.

The interview outlined an ambitious business plan, not proof that Wobble had already launched, reached market share or delivered the promised experience. Price, final specifications, retail availability, independent testing and the meaning of “three years” of updates were not established.

What Indkal and Wobble are

Anand Dubey is the CEO of Indkal Technologies, the company operating behind Wobble. Indkal presented Wobble as a new consumer-electronics brand aimed initially at younger Indian buyers, with possible expansion into televisions and other connected products.

Dubey said the name “Wobble” represents movement between ambition and achievement. That is brand positioning rather than a measurable product benefit. The practical question is whether Indkal can turn its stated advantages—design, manufacturing, distribution, software and service—into reliable ownership value.

Dubey also said Indkal already had more than 500 service centres covering about 18,500 Indian postal codes. Those figures were executive claims in the interview, not independently audited measures. Postal-code coverage also does not show how many locations perform repairs, stock parts or provide the same service quality.

Why enter an already crowded smartphone market?

India’s buyers can already choose among global brands, Chinese manufacturers, value-focused sub-brands and domestic or India-focused companies. A newcomer therefore needs more than a competitive chipset. It must maintain inventory, provide dependable software support, offer repair access and persuade retailers to keep selling its products.

Indkal’s proposed advantage is a combination of local relevance and operating infrastructure. The company says it can pair India-focused design and manufacturing with e-commerce, modern trade and general retail, while using its existing service network. That approach seeks to compete on the complete ownership experience rather than only on launch price.

What Wobble says will make its phones different

  • Software: a near-stock Android interface with little or no bloatware.
  • Performance: a responsive experience and strong multitasking, including claimed efficient CPU utilisation.
  • Cameras: a prominent camera system with artificial-intelligence features.
  • Local execution: Indian design, engineering and manufacturing, with local quality control and relevance.
  • Availability: an omnichannel sales strategy and access to Indkal’s service infrastructure.

These are company promises, not independent test results. For a buyer, camera samples, sustained performance, update delivery, repair turnaround and the final delivered price matter more than the labels themselves.

  • Camera: Boasts an 8MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera for capturing great moments.
  • Security: Equipped with face recognition for biometric security and Android 12 for a smooth and reliable performance.

What “Made in India” means in this case

Dubey described Wobble as “India designed and India manufactured,” while acknowledging continued dependence on outside manufacturing for components such as the chipset. He said displays, batteries, chargers, speaker modules and parts of printed-circuit-board assembly were being produced locally.

That wording should not be read as meaning every component is domestically sourced. The relevant distinctions are:

Term What it can mean for Wobble
Indian brand Brand ownership and market focus are Indian.
Indian design or engineering Some product decisions and development work take place in India.
Indian manufacturing or assembly Some components or final assembly are produced in India.
Domestic sourcing Inputs such as chipsets, memory and sensors are also made locally; the interview did not establish this.

On the available evidence, Wobble’s claim appears to concern substantial local design, engineering, manufacturing and value creation—not complete domestic sourcing.

The first phone: confirmed, teased and unknown

The interview identified a planned November 19, 2025 launch date. Because that date was a company plan reported before launch, it should be treated as historical unless a later source confirms that the phone actually went on sale.

Item Status in the interview
Processor MediaTek Dimensity 7400 was disclosed by the company.
Camera Presented as a standout feature with AI capabilities; no independent testing or samples were supplied.
Software Near-stock Android and a bloatware-free experience were promised.
Updates At least three years of software updates were promised, without specifying operating-system upgrades versus security patches.
Market position Planned to start in the mid segment.
Price and model name Not established in the interview.

The interview did not establish the display size or type, resolution, refresh rate, RAM, storage, battery capacity, charging speed, camera sensors, water resistance, materials, Android version, warranty duration, connectivity bands or retail availability. The Dimensity 7400 identifies a platform, not the phone’s complete performance; thermals, memory, storage and software optimisation will also affect results.

Software is the most consequential promise

Near-stock Android could reduce duplicate applications, promotional notifications and interface clutter. It does not necessarily mean pure Android Open Source Project software, and it may omit proprietary functions found on heavily customised phones.

“At least three years of software updates” is also too vague to convert into a stronger guarantee. Before buying, readers should establish:

  • How many Android-version upgrades are guaranteed.
  • How long security patches will continue and how often they will arrive.
  • Whether the support period begins at launch or another date.
  • Which applications are pre-installed and whether they can be removed.
  • How bugs, banking-app compatibility and major Android releases will be handled.

Three years of security support would not be equivalent to three major Android upgrades, and the interview did not say which commitment Wobble intended.

Distribution and after-sales support

Wobble planned to sell through e-commerce, modern trade and general retail. Dubey also said Indkal would publish a complete service-centre list before sales began.

That strategy could make a new brand easier to find and return, but buyers should verify the details at checkout:

  • Which marketplaces and offline chains actually stock the model.
  • Whether online and offline purchases have identical warranty and return terms.
  • Whether a listed service location is a repair centre, collection point or third-party authorised facility.
  • Whether screens, batteries, cameras and motherboards are stocked locally.
  • Expected repair turnaround and customer-support channels.

A claimed network covering 18,500 postal codes is not the same as a dense network of fully equipped repair facilities.

The three-device roadmap

Dubey said Wobble planned three devices during its first 12 months: a mid-segment phone first, followed by products above and below it. A broader range can improve retail visibility and let the company serve different budgets. It also increases the burden of firmware testing, parts inventory, warranty support and long-term updates.

No model names, prices or launch dates for the additional devices were supplied. The roadmap therefore represented management’s plan, not evidence that all three products were delivered.

Can Wobble achieve its market-share ambition?

Dubey targeted mid- to high-single-digit market share within 36 to 48 months. That is a management objective, not an independently validated forecast. The interview did not define whether “market share” meant shipments or sell-through, unit or revenue share, smartphones only or a broader category.

Achieving even that range would require repeated products with competitive pricing, dependable retail placement, effective marketing, strong software support, available spare parts and enough capital to sustain the operation. One successful launch would not establish a durable share position.

Is the ecosystem plan meaningful yet?

Wobble planned to show televisions and other consumer-electronics products and eventually build a connected-device ecosystem. Dubey also mentioned possible international-market exploration by the end of the relevant financial year.

An ecosystem becomes useful only when devices work together through dependable applications, shared accounts, compatible standards, clear privacy policies and long-term software support. At the interview stage, these were aspirations rather than demonstrated capabilities; no product interoperability, companion app or international launch was confirmed.

What buyers should check before spending money

  1. Confirm the actual listing: verify that the phone is available from an authorised seller and check the delivered price, return window and warranty.
  2. Read the update promise precisely: look for separate Android-upgrade and security-patch commitments, including end dates.
  3. Inspect retail software: check the Android version, pre-installed applications, advertising and notification controls.
  4. Compare hardware value: assess RAM, storage, display, battery, charging, camera hardware, 5G bands, NFC, eSIM and durability against similarly priced phones.
  5. Test service access: identify the nearest repair facility and ask about screen and battery replacement prices, parts availability and turnaround.
  6. Consider ownership risk: a new brand may have a weaker resale market and a less proven record of firmware support than established competitors.

Bottom line for financially minded buyers

Wobble’s proposition is credible only if Indkal converts its local-manufacturing and service claims into transparent specifications, reliable updates, competitive pricing and sustained after-sales support. The interview established an ambitious strategy and several planned features; it did not establish launch completion, product quality, price or market success. Buyers should evaluate the phone on documented ownership costs and support—not on the “Indian brand” label alone.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
