Incode announced its acquisition of AuthenticID on August 19, 2025. The companies said the transaction would combine Incode’s AI-driven identity-verification and fraud-prevention technology with AuthenticID’s enterprise experience in regulated, high-volume environments. Financial terms were not disclosed in the sources reviewed.

What happened and when

Incode Technologies publicly announced the AuthenticID acquisition on August 19, 2025. Incode’s legal-notifications page also lists a “Notice of corporate action: acquisition of AuthenticID” dated July 29, 2025. That notice is described as a stockholder notice related to the transaction; it does not state a purchase price, consideration, or detailed deal structure.

The announcement presented the transaction as a combination of two identity businesses rather than a consumer product launch. Incode supplies identity verification and fraud-prevention technology, while AuthenticID brought experience serving enterprise customers with demanding compliance, scale and reliability requirements.

Why did Incode acquire AuthenticID?

Incode’s stated rationale was to pair its AI-based identity and fraud capabilities with AuthenticID’s enterprise expertise. The companies positioned the combined offering for identity verification and fraud-prevention use cases in sectors such as financial services and telecommunications, where onboarding, account access and transaction interactions can involve substantial fraud and regulatory risk.

Incode founder and CEO Ricardo Amper described the objective this way: “Together with AuthenticID, we’re hardening the front line against these threats, so every enterprise can trust every interaction.” AuthenticID CEO Reed Taussig, identified in the announcement as the company’s CEO at the time, said customers needed “a holistic AI-first approach delivered by a true strategic partner” as AI-driven fraud became more sophisticated.

How the companies fit together

Incode’s role

Incode described its contribution as AI-driven identity verification and fraud technology. Its announcement framed those capabilities as the technology layer for detecting risk and establishing trust during digital interactions.

AuthenticID’s role

AuthenticID was presented as bringing enterprise deployment experience, particularly in regulated and high-volume settings. That positioning is relevant to organizations that need identity controls to operate consistently across large customer populations and strict compliance environments.

Target sectors

The announcement specifically referenced financial services and telecom. Those industries commonly require identity checks at onboarding and during account or service activity, but the announcement’s sector references are positioning statements, not independent evidence that the acquisition has improved results for customers.

Scale figures cited by Incode

Incode’s announcement attributed the following figures to the combined companies. They are company-reported counts, not independently audited market-share estimates.

Measure Figure cited by Incode Qualification
Identity checks processed in 2024 More than 4.1 billion Reported by Incode in its 2025 announcement; the reviewed sources do not provide an independent audit.
Largest U.S. banks served Eight of the 10 largest Company-reported customer reach.
Largest telecom companies in North America served Eight of the nine largest Company-reported customer reach.
Largest banks in Latin America served Four of the five largest Company-reported customer reach.
Largest global neobanks served Three of the three largest Company-reported customer reach.

These numbers describe the reach Incode attributed to the combined businesses in the announcement. They should not be read as an independently measured share of any market.

What was planned for product integration?

Coverage hosted by Incode of a FinTech Futures report said AuthenticID would be merged into Incode’s identity-orchestration platform. That describes the integration plan reported around the announcement. The reviewed materials do not establish that every product, backend system or customer contract has since been combined.

They also do not provide verified milestones for migration, final product packaging, customer communications or post-acquisition operating structures. Anyone evaluating the combined platform should confirm those points in newer company documentation.
