Khloud, Khloé Kardashian’s protein popcorn brand, tastes like popcorn first—but published reviewers disagree about how light, dry, or powdery it feels. Its three launch flavors were White Cheddar, Olive Oil & Sea Salt, and Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn. Two 2025 reviews reported seven grams of protein per serving, but that figure alone does not show that the snack is healthier than ordinary popcorn or right for your diet.
What is Khloud protein popcorn?
Khloud is a packaged popcorn brand founded by Khloé Kardashian. Its initial 2025 launch included three flavors: White Cheddar, Olive Oil & Sea Salt, and Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn. Food Network described the seasoning-and-protein blend as “Khloud Dust”; Delish identified milk protein isolate as the protein source. Both outlets reported seven grams of protein per serving as a product claim, not as the result of an independent laboratory test.
Kardashian told Elite Daily the idea came from wanting a snack that was “quick, nutritious, and actually delicious.” She also said she did not want consumers to have to “make you choose between taste or functionality.” Those are the founder’s goals, not evidence of a particular health benefit.
What does Khloud protein popcorn taste like?
The tasting accounts are broadly favorable but not identical. Food Network’s Sabrina Choudhary tried all three original flavors and found the popcorn dry and somewhat powdery, with a flavor she called “maybe a bit bland.” She noted that it was not excessively salty, cheesy, or oily on the fingers. Delish’s Megan Schaltegger also tried all three and described a light, fluffy texture and familiar popcorn taste, with a positive response to White Cheddar. These are individual impressions, not controlled comparisons.
#1 Best Overall
The difference matters if you are sensitive to seasoning dust or expect a bold cheese flavor: one reviewer’s light, familiar taste may read as under-seasoned or powdery to another. The Washington Post’s August 2025 tasting of Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn found a balanced sweet-salty flavor, alongside a slightly stale feel and chalky seasoning dust. That account adds another subjective impression, not a universal verdict.
How do the three launch flavors compare?
| Flavor | Profile | What reviewers reported |
|---|---|---|
| White Cheddar | Savory, cheese-seasoned popcorn | Delish’s Megan Schaltegger included it in a broadly positive tasting and liked the overall taste and texture; Food Network’s Sabrina Choudhary found the lineup somewhat dry and potentially bland. |
| Olive Oil & Sea Salt | Simple savory seasoning | Food Network’s tasting of the three original flavors noted no excessive salt or oily residue on the fingers, but described the popcorn overall as dry and somewhat powdery. |
| Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn | Sweet-and-salty | The Washington Post’s August 2025 tasting described balanced sweetness and salt, with a slightly stale feel and chalky seasoning dust. |
The coverage does not establish a reliable “best” flavor: reviewers did not use a shared scoring method, and the Washington Post account focused on Kettle Corn. If you prefer a straightforward profile, Olive Oil & Sea Salt is the least elaborate on paper; choose Kettle Corn for sweet-salty seasoning or White Cheddar for a cheese profile. Those are flavor-based starting points, not a guarantee of how any one bag will taste.

Does it taste like protein powder?
The reviewers did not describe the flavor as a conventional protein shake or protein powder, but powderiness and chalky seasoning dust did come up. Food Network’s Choudhary called the texture dry and somewhat powdery, and the Washington Post’s Kettle Corn tasting noted chalky dust. Delish’s Schaltegger, by contrast, described the texture as light and fluffy. If you strongly dislike a powdery coating, the published accounts suggest that texture is worth considering; they do not establish that every flavor or bag will have it.
What does the protein claim tell you?
Food Network and Delish each reported seven grams of protein per serving in 2025. Both accounts linked the protein to a milk-protein ingredient—Food Network described a blend of milk protein and seasoning, while Delish named milk protein isolate. The cited coverage does not establish a clinical benefit, a nutrition advantage over another popcorn, or whether one serving meets your individual protein needs. Check the package’s current Nutrition Facts and ingredient list if you need exact serving information or need to avoid milk ingredients.

What did it cost, and where was it sold?
Food Network listed Olive Oil & Sea Salt at Target for $4.99 in May 2025, and Delish reported Target and online availability around the launch beginning April 29, 2025. Those are dated launch-era details, not a current price or stock check. Fortune reported in August 2026 that a Starbucks deal contributed to doubled Amazon sales, but that business report does not establish a current Amazon listing for a specific Khloud popcorn flavor or package. Check the retailer listing for the flavor, pack size, price, and availability before buying.

If you want popcorn with a reported seven grams of protein per serving and are open to a potentially light, powdery seasoning texture, Khloud may be worth sampling. The reviews suggest familiar popcorn flavor rather than an obviously protein-powder taste, but they differ on whether the texture feels fluffy or dry and whether the flavor is satisfying or bland. A personal tasting is the only way to know which side of that divide you fall on.
