Kroger’s app works as a digital Shopper’s Card, coupon wallet, shopping list, online cart, fuel-rewards tracker and pharmacy tool. The most reliable routine is: select your store, choose in-store/Pickup/Delivery, review the local ad, clip eligible coupons, build a list or cart, verify substitutions and the final total, then check your receipt and rewards.
Features, prices, inventory, fees and labels can vary by Kroger banner, store, account, device and order type.
What the Kroger app can do
The official Kroger mobile-app page and Google Play listing describe these core uses:
- Find Kroger stores and fuel centers.
- View a local weekly ad and sale items.
- Clip digital coupons, personalized offers and other eligible savings.
- Create shopping lists and search products.
- Place Pickup or Delivery orders where available.
- Use Kroger Pay for in-store checkout where supported.
- Review purchase history and reorder frequently bought items.
- Track fuel points.
- Refill and track Kroger Pharmacy prescriptions.
- Manage your account and Shopper’s Card.
A Kroger-family banner may use a separate branded app or ordering experience, so confirm that the app matches the store you use.

What you need before starting
- An iPhone or Android phone and the official Kroger app.
- A free Kroger digital account.
- An existing Shopper’s Card, or the ability to create a virtual card during registration.
- Your preferred store and a payment method.
Kroger says the account and linked Shopper’s Card connect the app to savings and rewards. Download from the iOS or Android link provided on Kroger’s mobile-app page. Allow notifications or location access only when they are useful to you; you can usually manage those permissions later in your phone settings.
Set the store and shopping mode first
Store selection is a prerequisite, not a cosmetic preference. Inventory, prices, weekly-ad content, coupons, Pickup slots and Delivery availability can change by location and fulfillment method.

- Open the app and sign in or create your account.
- Select the Kroger or Kroger-family store where you intend to shop or collect an order.
- Confirm the location before relying on prices, deals or inventory.
- Choose In-store, Pickup or Delivery if the app presents that choice.
- Recheck the store after changing fulfillment methods.
Names and locations of buttons can change between app versions, so use the current labels shown on your device.
In-store shopping
In-store mode is useful when you need items immediately, want to select produce or meat personally, or want to avoid Pickup and Delivery charges. Online assortment and prices may not exactly match shelf conditions, and some offers are restricted to a particular channel.

Pickup can save time and reduce impulse purchases, but slots are location- and time-dependent. Items can be unavailable or substituted, and minimums, fees and promotional conditions may apply. Kroger warns that changing an order before Pickup or Delivery can reprice new or expired sale items, coupons, rewards or substitutions; see its mobile-app guidance.
Delivery
Delivery is convenient for people without transportation, heavy orders or mobility and scheduling constraints. Check the checkout screen for delivery fees, service charges, tips, minimums, membership conditions, delivery windows and assortment.

Other fulfillment labels
Do not assume “Delivery Now,” ship-to-home and standard store Delivery are interchangeable. Check the exact order type attached to each offer.
Build a shopping list that stays useful
Start with a blank list
- Open the list function and create a list if needed.
- Search for products and add quantities.
- Organize the list by department or trip.
- Check deals and coupons for listed items.
- Move only the items you want fulfilled online into a Pickup or Delivery cart.
This approach works for meal plans, pantry restocking and a repeat weekly shop. A list is a planning tool; it is not an order and does not reserve inventory or prices.
Start from the weekly ad
- Open the local weekly ad.
- Open a sale item or promotion and add it to your list or cart.
- Open digital coupons and clip only offers you can use.
- Check dates, sizes, brands, quantity limits and fulfillment restrictions.
Kroger identifies the weekly ad, digital coupons and personalized savings as central app functions.
Clip digital coupons without losing the savings
Sign in to the account connected to the Shopper’s Card you will use at checkout. Clip an offer before paying or submitting an online order, then verify all of its conditions:

- Exact brand, product, flavor, size and count.
- Required quantity or spending threshold.
- Expiration date and one-time or limited-use language.
- Correct store and account.
- Eligible channel: in-store, Pickup, Delivery or another specified order type.
A product appearing in search does not prove that it qualifies. Eligible clipped coupons may apply only when every requirement is met. Review the order summary or receipt rather than trusting the initial estimate.
If a coupon does not apply
- Confirm the app account matches the Shopper’s Card used for the purchase.
- Confirm the coupon was clipped before checkout or order submission.
- Match size, flavor, count, brand and qualifying quantity exactly.
- Check expiration and terms.
- Confirm the order channel is eligible.
- Remove and re-add the item if the cart appears stale.
- Inspect the final receipt or order-adjustment screen.
- Ask Kroger support or store customer service to review an apparently valid transaction; expired, excluded or incompatible offers are not guaranteed to be honored.
In-store shopping shortcuts
- Prepare the list and clip coupons before entering the store.
- Search the app for sale alternatives before choosing a substitute.
- Show the virtual Shopper’s Card at checkout.
- Set up Kroger Pay before reaching the lane if you want to use it.
- Keep your phone charged and carry another payment method.
- Use purchase history to rebuild routine shops, but recheck current size, price, availability and coupon status.
Kroger Pay
Kroger Pay is promoted as an in-store checkout feature. It links payment and loyalty functions through the app, but setup screens, supported stores and checkout prompts can vary. Confirm the selected payment method before paying and know how you will pay if the phone, network, app or register fails.

- Sign in and select the correct store.
- Choose Pickup or Delivery.
- Select an available time slot or delivery window.
- Search or browse products and add quantities.
- Clip eligible digital coupons.
- Set substitution preferences item by item.
- Review fees, minimums, estimated total, tax, tips and promotions.
- Submit the order.
- Monitor status and notifications.
- Follow the app’s check-in, arrival or delivery instructions.
Make substitution decisions deliberately
Allow substitutions when a reasonable replacement is acceptable. Turn them off for allergy-sensitive, prescription-adjacent, highly specific or size-sensitive products. Replacement items can have different prices or promotional eligibility. Inspect a Pickup order before leaving or a Delivery order when it arrives, and report missing, damaged or incorrect items through the order-support flow.
List shopping versus cart shopping

Fuel points, purchase history and pharmacy
Fuel points
- Make sure the purchase is tied to the correct Shopper’s Card.
- Open the rewards or fuel-points area and check the balance and terms.
- At an eligible fuel center, identify your Shopper’s Card or rewards account as instructed at the pump.
- Confirm the discount before authorizing the transaction.
Kroger’s app page currently states one fuel point per dollar and savings of up to $1 per gallon, subject to program terms. Bonus events, exclusions, participating fuel centers, redemption limits and expiration rules can change. Kroger’s 2026 rewards announcement lists exclusions; check the current terms at Kroger Investor Relations.
Purchase history and reordering
Use purchase history to create a starting cart for recurring shops. Recheck each item’s current size, price, availability, substitutions and coupon eligibility before ordering.

Pharmacy
The app listing supports prescription refill requests and status tracking. Select or identify the correct pharmacy, complete any requested verification, and confirm timing directly with the pharmacy. A submitted request does not guarantee same-day availability.

Google Play’s current data-safety section says the app may collect or share categories including location, personal and financial information, with data encrypted in transit. These disclosures can change, so review the live app-store privacy section and Kroger’s privacy policy before granting permissions.

The app is a poor fit when you need to inspect fresh food personally, require exact brands and sizes, face unreliable service, or cannot accept fees and substitutions. It is also less useful if your local Kroger-family banner uses a separate app.
