The current Premier Select benefit has a 60,000-point cap, with account points available to top up a higher-priced night. Both booking and completing the stay must fall within 12 months of the certificate’s issue date. Check the certificate in your account for its exact terms and expiration date.
Find the certificate and check its terms
- Sign in to the IHG One Rewards account associated with your card.
- Open the anniversary free-night certificate in your account. Chase says the current Premier Select certificate becomes available on the account anniversary date. Chase’s Premier Select benefit page
- Note the issue and expiration dates, the certificate’s point cap, whether it permits a points top-up, and the booking instructions shown for that certificate.
“Premier Select” and “Select” appear on different official pages. IHG’s certificate-specific page uses the label “IHG One Rewards Select Credit Card Free Night,” while Chase’s current card page describes the Premier Select benefit. The pages do not establish that older Select-card certificates have the same cap or top-up rules as current Premier Select certificates, so use the terms displayed on your own certificate. Choose a night and make the booking
- Search IHG for the property and dates you want, then check whether a standard room is available using the certificate. Certificate inventory is limited; no available room for your dates does not by itself mean the certificate is invalid. IHG’s Reward Night terms also say standard Reward Night inventory is subject to prior sale.
- Compare the room’s redemption level with the cap shown on your certificate. The current Premier Select page lists a 60,000-point cap and says points from your IHG account may be added for a hotel night above that level. - Use the certificate’s own booking entry or instructions. Chase lists booking online at IHG.com or by phone through IHG One Rewards; IHG’s Select certificate page has its own contact details. Follow the channel and contact information attached to your certificate rather than combining instructions from different card versions.
- Before confirming, check the dates, room type, any points needed above the cap, charges not covered, and the cancellation deadline and terms presented for that reservation.
- Save the confirmation and complete the stay before the certificate expires.
What the certificate covers—and what it does not
The certificate covers one standard room night and applicable taxes. It does not cover incidental expenses or mandatory resort fees at properties that charge them; those remain your responsibility. Expiration, availability, and cancellation rules
For the current Premier Select benefit, Chase says both redemption and the stay must be completed within 12 months from issue. IHG’s Select certificate terms likewise specify a 12-month window for redemption and completion. Use the dates on your individual certificate to plan: booking before the deadline is not enough if the stay itself falls outside its validity period. Chase benefit terms · IHG certificate terms

IHG says its Select certificate is nontransferable, cannot be extended beyond expiration, exchanged for cash, or re-credited for points. Its terms also note that inventory may be unavailable in high-demand periods. The cancellation policy for the hotel and reservation applies; cancellation after the stated deadline may result in a charge. Read the cancellation terms shown during booking and on the confirmation.
