You cannot share a normal Amazon.com consumer cart directly. Amazon does not provide a native share-cart link. The reliable workaround is to create an Amazon List, add the products from your cart, and share that List by link, email, or text.
For just one or two products, sending each product link is faster. For gifts, family shopping, or group purchases, use a shared List instead.

The quickest way to share multiple Amazon cart items
- Create a new List from Your Lists.
- Open each item in your cart and select Add to List or the heart/List control on its product page.
- Choose the new List, repeating the process for each product.
- Open the List and select Invite or Share.
- Choose View only or View and edit.
- Copy the link or send the invitation by email or text.
Amazon says Lists are private by default and can be shared using a link or email/text. Button names and locations can vary between Amazon.com, the iPhone app, the Android app, and different app versions.
Amazon’s own guidance confirms that a standard consumer cart cannot be shared directly, while Lists are the supported sharing option: Amazon forum guidance and Amazon’s List explanation.

How to share your cart on desktop
- Go to Amazon.com and open your cart.
- For an item you want to share, open its product page. The cart itself may not show an Add to List control.
- Click Add to List, the heart icon, or the equivalent List control.
- Select an existing List or create a dedicated one, such as “Birthday Ideas” or “Camping Trip.”
- Repeat for the remaining cart items.
- Open Account & Lists, then Your Lists.
- Open the List, select Invite or Share, choose permissions, and send or copy the link.
This method leaves the original products in your cart. Use it when you still intend to place your own order.
How to share from the Amazon app
- Open the Amazon Shopping app and find the item in your cart.
- Open the item’s product page.
- Tap the heart, List, or Add to List control, then select or create a List.
- Repeat for the other products.
- Open the app’s account area and go to Your Lists.
- Open the List and use Invite or Share to copy the link or send it through your available messaging apps.
Amazon may place these controls differently on iPhone and Android. If the cart does not offer an Add to List option, open the product page directly and add it there.
Alternative: move items to Saved for Later
If you want to clear the active cart first, choose Save for later for each relevant item. Scroll below the active cart to Saved for Later, then use an available Add to List control to place the products in a List.
Saved for Later is primarily a personal holding area—not a shared-cart feature. Amazon describes it as a way to remove items from the active cart without deleting them and later return them to the cart. Controls may vary by item, seller, marketplace, and app version. See Amazon’s overview of Saved for Later and shopping features.

How to share one Amazon product
For one to three items, skip the List:
- Open the product page.
- Click or tap Share.
- Choose Messages, email, WhatsApp, or Copy link.
The recipient will see the product page and must add the item to their own cart. Your quantity, seller, delivery address, coupon, and checkout settings do not transfer.

Choose the right List permission
| Permission | Best for | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| View only | Gift ideas, recommendations, or a shopping plan | Recipients can see the products but cannot change the List. |
| View and edit | Couples, families, events, and group purchases | Trusted collaborators may add or remove products, adjust quantities or priorities, and comment. |
Use View only as the safer default for a broad group or anyone you do not fully trust. Before sharing, review the List’s privacy, delivery, notes, and invitee settings. Amazon’s List-sharing guidance explains the permission options and owner responsibilities: Amazon forum guidance.
Can someone else buy items from the shared List?
Generally, yes. The recipient can open the List, select products, add them to their own cart, and check out using their own account, payment method, and delivery choices. They are not checking out from your cart.
Depending on the List’s settings, the recipient may see whether an item has already been purchased. Gift-oriented Lists can also use surprise settings to reduce spoilers. A shared List does not authorize another person to use your payment method.

What the recipient will—and will not—see
A List or product link points to products, not to a frozen copy of your checkout session. Prices, coupons, sellers, inventory, and delivery dates may differ when the recipient opens the link.
- Price: May change after you share the List; promotions and coupons can be account-specific or expire.
- Seller: A product page may offer multiple sellers, and the recipient may select a different offer.
- Availability: Inventory can change.
- Delivery: Dates depend on the recipient’s location, account eligibility, and selected address.
- Variants: Size, color, configuration, or pack quantity may need to be selected again.
- Quantity: The buyer should verify the desired quantity before checkout.
Amazon describes price-drop and deal notifications for Lists, but those features are not a guarantee that everyone will receive the same price. Check the final product page and checkout total before ordering. See Amazon’s shopping guidance.

Best method for a group purchase
Create a dedicated List rather than sharing your personal Wish List. Name it for the project—such as “Baby Shower,” “Office Supplies,” or “Camping Trip”—and give trusted collaborators View and edit access.
Use comments, priorities, and quantities to coordinate choices. Designate one person to resolve duplicates and make final decisions. Each buyer should move selected products into their own cart and verify the exact variant, seller, price, quantity, and delivery date before placing an order.
Can you share a cart between two Amazon accounts?
Not through the ordinary Amazon.com consumer cart. Share a List or individual product links instead. Signing into the same account may expose account, address, payment, and order information and can create checkout confusion, so do not share your Amazon password merely to share a cart.
Amazon Business options
Amazon Business has separate collaborative List and procurement features for offices, departments, and organizations. Business Lists can provide controls over who may purchase or edit items. Amazon Business also documents a Cart API for business integrations.
These are not consumer-cart share links. They are relevant to workplace purchasing, approvals, repeat orders, and procurement workflows. See Amazon Business Lists and the Amazon Business Cart API overview.

What about third-party cart-sharing extensions?
Some browser extensions and services claim to generate cart-style links. For example, the Chrome Web Store lists Share Amazon Cart. Such tools are not Amazon-native and may not work with the Amazon app, mobile Safari, every marketplace, or every account.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Before installing one, check the developer, requested permissions, privacy policy, update history, whether recipients need the extension, and whether cart contents are stored. Do not assume a tool is secure, free, supported, or endorsed by Amazon. For most shoppers, an Amazon List is the lower-risk first-party option.
Troubleshooting
“I copied my cart URL, but it did not work.”
A cart URL is not a portable snapshot. The recipient will generally see their own cart or be asked to sign in. Use a List or product links.
“I cannot find Add to List.”
Open the product page instead of relying on the cart view. You can also try Save for Later and look for List controls in that section.
“The recipient cannot edit the List.”
You likely selected View only, or the person did not receive an edit invitation. Reopen the sharing controls and choose View and edit for trusted collaborators.

“The List link is unavailable.”
Check that the List is shared rather than private, confirm that it still exists, and generate a fresh link. Also verify that both people are using the intended Amazon marketplace; account or regional restrictions can affect access.
“The price or delivery date changed.”
That is normal for a shared List. Prices, coupons, inventory, sellers, and delivery estimates are dynamic. Recheck the product page and checkout details.
“The recipient bought the wrong version.”
Product pages can contain multiple sizes, colors, configurations, pack quantities, or sellers. Tell the buyer to select and verify the exact offer before checkout.
“I do not want the recipient to see my address.”
Use a separate List and review its privacy and delivery settings before sharing. Do not assume that sharing a List reveals only anonymous product links.
