PC Slower Than It Used to Be?

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchThe fastest way to find a past Amazon purchase is to sign in to the account that placed the order, open Your Orders—usually through Returns & Orders on a computer—and use the Search Orders field. Search a short, distinctive term such as a brand, product type, model number, or order number. If the purchase is old, change the date-period filter first.
Search your Amazon orders on a computer
- Go to Amazon.com and sign in to the account used for the purchase.
- Select Returns & Orders, then open Your Orders if necessary.
- Enter a term in the Search Orders field above the order list.
- Choose the matching order and select Order details, View order details, or the equivalent option.
You can usually search by a product name, brand, model number, distinctive keyword, order number, and—where supported by the current interface—the seller’s name. Short terms often work better than copying an entire listing title. Try Anker, air fryer, or a model number instead of the full product description, which may have changed.
The order-details page can show the purchase date, items, shipment status, payment information, return options, and available invoice or printable-summary controls.
Do not use Amazon’s main product-search box for this task. That searches Amazon’s catalog, not your purchase history.

Search your orders in the Amazon Shopping app
- Open the Amazon Shopping app and sign in.
- Open the account/person tab or menu.
- Tap Your Orders.
- Use the order search field or Filter control.
- Choose a date range or order category when available, then tap the relevant order.
Amazon changes the app’s navigation and labels more often than the desktop site. The exact tab, button name, and placement can therefore differ by operating system, app release, marketplace, and account. If you do not see a search field immediately, look for Filter or open an order-history view from the account menu.
Find an Amazon order from a particular year
Your order list may initially show only a recent period. If an older purchase is missing:
- Open the order-history date or time-period selector.
- Choose the year or date range in which you bought the item.
- Run the search again using a short product term, brand, model number, or seller.
- Try nearby years if the purchase date is uncertain.
Amazon staff guidance has specifically directed customers to use the year selector when older orders do not appear. A missing item is not necessarily evidence that Amazon deleted the order; the default view may simply be limited, or the listing may now use different wording.
Search by Amazon order number
An order number is generally the most precise lookup key.

Find digital Amazon purchases
Physical orders and digital transactions may be separated by order category. If you are looking for a Kindle book, app, game, Prime Video purchase or rental, music item, or other digital content:
- Open Your Orders and look for a Digital Orders category or filter.
- Search using the title, creator, app name, or another distinctive term.
- Check the relevant digital library as well as the transaction record.
Finding the order and opening the content are different tasks. The transaction may be listed under digital orders, while the purchased book, video, app, or music is accessed through its corresponding Amazon library. A subscription charge can also have a different record from a one-time purchase.
Amazon forum guidance for video purchases directs customers to search the Orders page or switch to Digital Orders: Amazon’s guidance on finding video purchases.

What about archived orders?
Archive behavior is marketplace-dependent, so older instructions are not universally reliable.
Amazon’s UK help documentation says archived orders can be located from Your Orders by searching or filtering by the original purchase date: Amazon UK’s archived-orders help page. However, an Amazon staff response in the US forum dated May 2, 2025 said customers could no longer archive orders in that US context: Amazon forum response about the missing Archive order button.
If you are on Amazon.com in the US, do not assume that an Archive order button or dedicated archive page still exists. First search by product term or order number and change the date filter. If a previously archived order remains unavailable, verify the account and marketplace before contacting Amazon.
Find a receipt, invoice, or payment record
These records are related but not identical:
- Order confirmation: the email or page confirming that Amazon accepted the purchase.
- Order details: the account page showing items, date, shipping, payment, and fulfillment information.
- Printable order summary: a printable record of the order when that control is offered.
- Invoice or VAT invoice: a tax or billing document that may be available depending on the seller, marketplace, order type, and tax treatment.
- Card or bank statement: an external payment record showing a charge, but not necessarily the complete itemized order.
Find the order first, open its details, and look for an invoice or printable-summary option. Not every order has the same invoice controls or tax fields, so do not assume that every Amazon purchase includes a downloadable tax invoice.

If an Amazon order is missing
Work through these checks in order:
- Verify the account. Check other email addresses, phone-number logins, and household members’ accounts. A shared address, Prime membership, or payment card does not merge separate order histories.
- Verify the marketplace. An order placed on another country’s Amazon website may not appear in the current marketplace’s history.
- Change the date range. Select the likely year or a wider period, then search again.
- Simplify the search. Try the brand, category, model number, seller, or one distinctive word instead of an exact listing title.
- Check Digital Orders. Digital content may be separated from ordinary physical purchases.
- Check archive handling. Availability differs by marketplace, and US archive controls have reportedly changed.
- Check canceled, returned, refunded, and multi-shipment orders. One order can contain several items or shipments, and a returned item may still be recorded under the original order.
- Search your email. Try
Amazon order, the product name, the order number, or the approximate date. - Compare your payment statement. If a charge appears on a card or bank statement but cannot be matched to any account, contact Amazon Customer Service for an investigation.
Amazon staff guidance also recommends checking the correct account and using the year or date selector when old orders seem absent: Amazon forum guidance on accessing old order information.
Orders placed by another person
Amazon order history belongs to the account that placed the order. You generally cannot search a spouse’s, family member’s, or coworker’s orders simply because you share an address, Prime membership, or payment card.
Sign in to the account that actually made the purchase. For households, Amazon’s help documentation recommends using Amazon Family to maintain separate order histories, although features and naming can vary by marketplace. For a shared card, use the transaction date and amount to help the cardholder identify the correct account rather than expecting the charge to appear in your history.

Amazon Business accounts can have order, reporting, and analytics tools that differ from the consumer Your Orders page. Sign in to the organization’s Amazon Business account and use its order or reporting tools. If a report can be exported, open it in a spreadsheet and use the spreadsheet’s find function to locate the item, order number, date, or cost center.

Do not follow Seller Central instructions when you are a shopper. Seller Central reports are designed for merchants searching orders they received, not buyers searching purchases they made. Amazon’s seller forum describes those seller-side reports here: Seller Central archived-order reporting.

Common mistakes
- Searching the product catalog instead of Your Orders.
- Leaving the date filter on its recent default.
- Searching an exact, outdated product title.
- Confusing a shipment with the full order.
- Confusing a recurring subscription charge with a one-time purchase.
- Assuming archived orders work the same way in every marketplace.
- Using Seller Central as a consumer buyer.
- Assuming an export or complete CSV order-history report is currently available to every account.
Amazon’s desktop and app interfaces change over time. Treat old screenshots and instructions that promise a specific archive or export control with caution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I search another household member’s Amazon orders?
No. Order history is tied to the account that placed the order. Sign in to that account, even if the household shares an address, Prime membership, or payment card.
Why does my bank statement show Amazon but no order appears?
Check other Amazon accounts and marketplaces, widen the date range, and search email for the order. If the charge still cannot be matched, ask Amazon Customer Service to investigate it.
