The transfer recreates playlists from tracks found in the destination’s catalog; it does not copy audio files. Check the new playlists for missing songs and alternate versions before relying on them, and keep your Spotify originals until you are satisfied.
Choose a transfer route
Start with the service you are moving to: its built-in importer is usually the most direct option when it supports Spotify. If it does not, or you need a different route, a multi-service tool may be able to copy the playlists. Support, interface labels and limits can change, so use the service’s current instructions.
| Route | Best fit | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Music importer | Moving supported playlists and library items into YouTube Music | In YouTube Music, open your profile icon → Settings → Privacy & data → Transfer playlists from other apps. Connect the source, select playlists and authorize with Google. The source music stays in place; future changes do not sync automatically, some songs may be unavailable, and podcasts cannot be imported or exported. YouTube Music Help |
| Apple Music transfer | Moving supported songs, albums, playlists and liked music into Apple Music | In Apple Music settings, choose “Transfer Music from Other Music Services,” sign in to a supported source, select content and add it to your library. Apple also documents a web flow. An Apple Music subscription and Sync Library are required. Exact matches may fail; you can review suggested alternatives, with 30 days to review a transfer needing attention. Apple Support |
| Spotify mobile importer | Moving music into Spotify from another service, including a reverse move | Spotify documents Your Library → “Import your music from other apps,” then choosing a source, granting access, selecting tracks or playlists and authenticating Spotify. The mobile-specific documentation names TuneMyMusic as its partner; do not assume the same steps are available in every app version or region. Spotify Support |
| Soundiiz | Cross-service copying, including supported favorites and other library data | Connect both services, choose supported categories and items, inspect the proposed transfer, then review matched and unmatched results. Its free flow allows eligible playlist transfers one at a time, with up to 200 selected tracks; batch transfers and favorite tracks, albums and artists require a paid plan according to Soundiiz. | TuneMyMusic | Routes supported by its multi-service integrations | Select the source, content and destination, authorize accounts when prompted, then review the report. The provider says unmatched tracks appear in its report. Its supported platforms and features may change. TuneMyMusic |
How to transfer playlists safely
- Confirm the destination. Check whether it offers an importer that supports Spotify and whether your account meets its requirements. Apple’s documented option, for example, requires an Apple Music subscription and Sync Library.
- Sign in to both services. Make sure you can access the Spotify account containing the playlists and the destination account. A third-party tool may also require enough available destination space.
- Try one representative playlist first. A small trial lets you see how the destination handles your music before you copy a large library.
- Choose the content and authorize access. Follow the destination or transfer tool’s sign-in flow, select the playlists or other supported categories, and grant the requested access.
- Read the transfer report. Where a report is provided, look for unmatched tracks or alternatives. Soundiiz says it searches using metadata such as title, artist, album and duration, and, when available, ISRC.
- Inspect the copies in the destination. Open playlists that matter to you and check missing tracks, explicit versions, live recordings, remasters and other alternate releases. Add a missing item manually when you can identify the intended version.
- Keep the originals until you are done checking. A transfer copies playlist or library information; it does not cancel Spotify or remove the source playlists.
What transfers—and what may not
A playlist transfer is a catalog-matching process, not an audio-file migration. Soundiiz says it copies playlist and library information and searches the destination catalog for corresponding tracks using metadata and sometimes an ISRC. The destination then links to its own version of a track.
A match can fail when a track is not in the destination catalog, is restricted in a country, has different metadata, or is represented by another release or remaster. A playlist can therefore arrive with gaps or a version that differs from the Spotify original. Apple Music describes exact-match failures and offers similar alternatives for review; check those suggestions rather than assuming they are identical recordings.
#1 Best Overall
Do not expect a copied playlist to remain synchronized. YouTube Music states: “Changes made in YouTube Music won’t automatically sync between services.” The reviewed documentation does not establish automatic ongoing syncing across these transfer routes.
Check playlist and plan limits
Soundiiz publishes the following destination playlist caps on a page last reviewed in August 2026. They are Soundiiz operational limits, not universal limits for the underlying music services, and the provider says they can change as services update applications or APIs.

| Destination in Soundiiz | Published tracks per playlist |
|---|---|
| Apple Music | 10,000 |
| Spotify | 10,000 |
| YouTube Music | 5,000 |
| Deezer | 5,000 |
| Amazon Music | 2,500 |
Soundiiz’s playlist-size and track-limit page lists those caps. Separately, its free transfer flow permits up to 200 selected tracks and one eligible playlist transfer at a time; that is a plan limit, not a destination playlist cap. Soundiiz’s free-flow details
If a playlist is larger than the applicable cap, check the tool’s handling for that destination before starting. Soundiiz says it can split oversized playlists for some destinations; for others, it stops at the maximum.

When to use a third-party tool
Consider Soundiiz or TuneMyMusic when the destination has no suitable built-in importer, when you need a supported route between services, or when you want to copy categories beyond playlists. Compare the exact source-and-destination pair, supported data categories, playlist and plan limits, and how unmatched tracks are reported. Neither the provider’s marketing claims nor a successful transfer guarantees every track will match correctly.
Authorize accounts only through the tool’s documented sign-in flow, and review the access it requests. If you are moving a large collection, verify a small transfer first and consult current limits before running the rest.
