PC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchIf WoW Forever is missing from Battle.net, first check whether your account actually has beta access. A free opt-in only enters you in the selection process; it does not guarantee an invitation. If the license is present, select the beta from World of Warcraft’s Game Version menu and install it through Battle.net. For later download or launch failures, work through app, driver, and storage checks, then use Blizzard’s current technical support guidance.
First, confirm your account has beta access
Open the Battle.net app directly and check the game licenses on the account you are using. An opt-in confirmation or an email is not proof that the account has a WoW Forever beta license. The beta guide recommends verifying access in Battle.net rather than relying on email links. Blizzard’s beta announcement and the WoW Forever beta access guide explain the access and installation process.
If you opted in for free
Free opt-in makes you eligible for possible selection; it does not guarantee that you will be selected. If the beta is absent from your account, the likely next step is to wait for selection rather than repeatedly downloading or reinstalling the game.
If you bought an eligible bundle
Make sure Battle.net is signed in to the same account that made the purchase. The access guide says the license can take up to 30 minutes to appear. If it is still missing after that interval, fully quit Battle.net and reopen it, then check the account’s game licenses again.

Install WoW Forever from Battle.net
Once the beta license is available, install it from the desktop app:
- Open Battle.net and choose World of Warcraft.
- Open the Game Version menu above the Play button.
- Under In Development, select World of Warcraft: Forever Beta.
- Choose Install and allow the download and installation to finish.
- Choose Play, then select an available test realm.
If the beta version does not appear in the menu, return to the license check: the launcher cannot install a beta the signed-in account is not entitled to access.

If download or installation fails despite a valid license
Work through these checks in order. They are general triage, not a diagnosis of one specific cause:
- Update Battle.net. Fully close and reopen the app so it can check for updates.
- Update your graphics driver. Use the driver update appropriate to your graphics hardware and operating system.
- Check available storage. Confirm the destination drive has enough free space for the installation and its updates.
- Check Blizzard’s current technical guidance. Use its Common Technical Issues and Solutions material for the relevant error code and operating system; launcher steps and beta issues can change.
If an error appears, record its exact wording or code before retrying. That detail helps distinguish an account or launcher issue from a client installation problem.

If Play changes to Launching and then returns to Play
A September 19, 2026 forum post describes Battle.net briefly showing “Launching” and then returning to “Play,” with no crash or visible error. The author listed attempts including ending processes, running the app as administrator, rebooting, scan and repair, reinstalling, adding firewall exceptions, and updating drivers; the reviewed thread did not establish a working fix. Read the forum report, but do not assume its attempted fixes will solve the same symptom for everyone.
If the failure persists, gather the details Blizzard support will need: your operating system, the client build shown by the launcher, the exact error or silent behavior, and the troubleshooting steps already attempted. Then contact Blizzard through its official support channels.

Check the current beta build for known fixes
Beta problems and fixes can change between builds. Blizzard’s September 23, 2026 notice identifies WoW Forever 1.60.1 Build 69977 and says it includes fixes for some Mac display and stability issues. That is a narrow statement about that build, not a guarantee that every Mac problem—or another platform’s launch issue—is resolved. Check Blizzard’s beta client update notice and the current launcher update before troubleshooting further.
