Ask for an itemized quote showing selling price, destination, documentation or dealer fees, accessories, taxes, registration, trade-in credit and every financing charge. Comparing only the monthly payment can hide a higher total cost.

- Request the vehicle identification number, trim, drivetrain and mileage.
- Ask whether the quote includes the $1,390 destination and handling charge.
- Separate government charges from dealer-installed accessories and add-ons.
- Request the total amount financed, annual percentage rate, term and total of payments.

Compare the cash-price scenario with financing and trade-in scenarios independently. A lower promotional APR may be worth more than a small rebate for a buyer who finances, while a cash buyer should focus on the vehicle price and fees rather than a payment-based offer.
Choose FWD or AWD based on actual driving
FWD: the strongest published fuel economy
The S and SV FWD ratings are 30 city, 37 highway and 33 combined mpg, the best published figures in the 2025 Rogue range. SL and Platinum FWD are rated 29/36/32. If you do not regularly drive on snow, ice, steep unpaved roads or other surfaces where extra traction is useful, FWD avoids the AWD price premium and uses less fuel according to these EPA estimates.

AWD: pay for traction when it solves a problem
S and SV AWD are rated 28/35/31 mpg. SL and Platinum AWD are 28/34/31, while the Rock Creek AWD is 27/32/29. AWD can be sensible for a senior who lives in a snowy or hilly area, but the purchase price and lower fuel economy should be part of the calculation. It does not eliminate the need for appropriate tires or careful driving.
Which trim is the best value for a senior?
There is no single best trim for every buyer. Compare the cost of a feature with the mobility or safety problem it solves, rather than paying for a higher grade automatically.

S: lowest entry price
The S FWD starts at $28,590 before destination and other charges. It is the natural starting point for a buyer who wants the lowest published price and does not need AWD.
SV: modest step up
The SV costs $1,000 more than the equivalent S with the same drivetrain. Obtain both itemized quotes and verify which convenience equipment is included before deciding whether the difference is worthwhile.

Rock Creek: specialized AWD choice
Rock Creek is AWD-only, carries a $33,490 MSRP and has the lowest published combined rating at 29 mpg. Its rugged equipment may appeal to buyers who need that capability, but it is not the fuel-cost choice.
SL and Platinum: convenience at a higher price
SL and Platinum add cost substantially over S and SV. Price the specific safety, visibility, comfort or driver-assistance features you will use, and avoid paying for packages that duplicate equipment you already have or do not need.

Nissan Maintenance Care
Nissan says Nissan Maintenance Care includes three prepaid oil changes for up to two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. Confirm the benefit and its expiration date on the buyer’s contract, and ask the service department which scheduled maintenance items remain after the included oil changes end.
Roadside assistance
The 2025 Rogue brochure states roadside assistance for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Listed services include flat-tire changes, vehicle lockouts, trip interruption benefits, emergency fuel delivery and jump starts. Check the owner documents for activation and usage details before buying duplicate roadside coverage for the included period.
