Is Amazon Music Unlimited free with Prime?
No. Amazon describes Music Prime as a benefit included with Prime, while Music Unlimited is a separate paid subscription. Unlimited Individual is currently advertised at a lower monthly rate for Prime members than for non-Prime customers. Amazon’s plan comparison explains the differences; in broad terms, Unlimited adds on-demand listening and higher audio-quality options, while Music Prime has playback restrictions for much of its catalog.
What do the different Unlimited plans offer?
Individual
The Individual plan is the straightforward option for one subscriber. Amazon says it can be played on compatible devices one at a time. The price depends on Prime status, and any introductory offer is separate from the recurring monthly charge.

Family
Amazon says the Family plan supports up to six family members listening simultaneously, and members must live in the same country. Amazon’s public price information is inconsistent, so confirm the monthly charge and whether an annual option is offered to your account before choosing it.
Student
Amazon identifies a Student plan and says eligibility is for currently enrolled students, with third-party verification. Confirm both your eligibility and the current rate during signup; older FAQ amounts are not reliable confirmation of today’s price.

Single Device
This plan is limited to one compatible Echo or Fire TV. It does not include HD, Ultra HD, or Spatial Audio, so it is a narrower option than Individual or Family for listeners who want higher audio tiers or access across devices.
What is included in Unlimited?
Amazon describes Unlimited as an ad-free subscription with over 100 million songs, millions of tracks in Ultra HD, spatial audio, more than 15 million podcast episodes, playlists, and stations. Amazon also says Individual subscribers and Family account holders can listen to one audiobook per month while their subscription is active. These catalog and feature figures are Amazon’s own service claims, not independent measurements. The Single Device plan excludes HD, Ultra HD, and Spatial Audio.

Does Amazon Music Unlimited have a free trial?
Amazon’s U.S. page advertises a limited-time introductory trial for new subscribers. The trial length and eligibility can vary, so the offer displayed for your account is the one to check. The trial is not a permanent free plan: Amazon says subscriptions may automatically convert to paid plans unless canceled before the trial ends.

- Check the offer before subscribing. Review the trial length, renewal amount, renewal date, and applicable taxes shown during signup.
- Track the end of the trial or billing term. Amazon says the subscription renews at the then-applicable fee unless auto-renewal is stopped before the charge.
- Cancel through the billing provider. For a subscription billed directly by Amazon, visit Amazon Music Settings and adjust the subscription settings. If another provider bills you, use that provider’s cancellation process.
For subscriptions billed directly by Amazon, cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current term, and fees already paid are generally nonrefundable. Amazon says it communicates price increases in advance. Its Music Terms of Use, last updated January 29, 2025, explain trial conversion, renewal, and cancellation terms.
