Every Formula 1 team owes the FIA a US$703,330 base entry fee for the 2026 championship. The final charge adds a per-point amount based on the team’s 2025 Constructors’ Championship score: $8,438 per point for champion McLaren and $7,030 per point for every other team. The entry undertaking and payment were due by 15 December 2025.
2026 FIA entry fees by team
The following amounts are the 2026 championship-entry fees reported in France Racing’s table published on 3 January 2026 and updated 30 May 2026. They are stated in U.S. dollars.
| Team | 2026 FIA entry fee | Context |
|---|---|---|
| McLaren | $7,732,579 | 2025 Constructors’ champion; subject to the higher champion rate |
| Mercedes | $4,000,478 | Existing team |
| Red Bull | $3,873,935 | Existing team |
| Ferrari | $3,501,336 | Existing team |
| Williams | $1,666,463 | Existing team |
| Racing Bulls | $1,350,105 | Existing team |
| Aston Martin | $1,329,015 | Existing team |
| Haas | $1,258,713 | Existing team |
| Sauber (becoming Audi) | $1,195,442 | 2026 entry listed under Sauber as it transitions to Audi branding |
| Alpine | $857,994 | Existing team |
| Cadillac | $703,330 | Incoming 11th team; no 2025 Constructors’ points |
McLaren’s $7,732,579 is the highest amount in the published schedule, while Cadillac’s $703,330 is the lowest because it is a new entrant without a prior-season points total.
How the FIA calculates the charge
The practical calculation is:
$703,330 base fee + 2025 Constructors’ Championship points × the applicable rate

McLaren’s champion rate
The 2025 champion uses the higher rate of $8,438 for each 2025 Constructors’ Championship point. That premium applies because McLaren won the preceding championship, not because it has a different type of entry or a separate commercial agreement.
Rate for the other teams
Every other returning team is charged $7,030 per 2025 Constructors’ Championship point, in addition to the common base. Consequently, two teams with similar points can still have different totals if one is the champion or if their final points differ.

Why Cadillac pays only the base
Cadillac is the incoming 11th team for 2026 and had no 2025 Constructors’ Championship points. With no points to multiply by either rate, its published fee is the base amount alone.
When teams apply and pay
The FIA’s 2026 Formula 1: General Regulatory Provisions, Issue 02 dated 27 February 2026, sets out the entry timetable for the 2026 championship.

How to compare one team’s fee with another
1. Start with the 2025 points total
The preceding Constructors’ Championship score is the main variable. More points generally produce a larger invoice because the points surcharge is added to the same base.

2. Check championship position
Championship position matters because the winner receives the $8,438-per-point rate. The remaining teams use $7,030 per point.
3. Identify whether the entry is new
A new team with no prior-season Constructors’ points pays no points surcharge. That is why Cadillac’s charge is limited to the base fee.

What this fee does—and does not—cover
These figures are FIA championship-entry fees only. They are not a team’s operating budget, the Formula 1 cost cap, engine-supply costs, driver super-licence fees or a separately disclosed commercial anti-dilution payment.
The cited 2026 materials do not publish an itemized allocation of entry-fee revenue or a separate anti-dilution amount. Those costs should therefore not be added to, or inferred from, the totals in the table.
What the Sauber-to-Audi change means for the table
The schedule labels the $1,195,442 entry as “Sauber (becoming Audi in 2026).” In practical comparison terms, the 2026 Audi-branded operation corresponds to that existing Sauber entry and its listed fee; the table does not present a second, separate Audi entry charge.
Why there are 11 fees in 2026
The FIA’s 12 December 2025 Concorde announcement refers to an agreement covering “all 11 race teams.” Cadillac’s arrival expands the field from the previous 10-team structure, while the other entries carry forward their prior-season points-based calculations.
