For U.S. sellers, eBay sends sale proceeds through managed payments to one verified personal or business checking account (or, when eligible, a verified Visa or Mastercard debit card). eBay deducts applicable selling costs first. The buyer’s payment is normally Processing before becoming Available; after eBay sends a standard payout, your bank usually needs another 1–3 business days to make the deposit available.
Use eBay’s managed-payments guidance as the controlling source for the estimate shown on your account.
What you need before setting up eBay payouts
Have these items ready:
- An active eBay account and access to Seller Hub or My eBay.
- A personal checking account for an individual seller, or a business checking account for a registered business.
- Your routing number and account number if you will enter them manually.
- A legal name, address and business details that match your bank records and eBay registration.
- Government-issued identification, a recent bank statement, or access to your bank login if eBay requests additional verification.
- Access to the account for microdeposit verification, when used.
U.S. eBay payouts cannot use a savings account or PayPal account as the standard bank destination. An eligible verified Visa or Mastercard debit card may be available instead. Eligibility is account-specific; eBay must approve the destination and verify the information. See eBay’s account-update instructions and managed-payments overview.
How to link a bank account to eBay
- Sign in to eBay.
- Open Seller Hub and choose Payments. In My eBay, open Payments or the equivalent Payouts area.
- Find the payout-account or payout-method section. Menu names can differ between desktop, mobile, country site and later interface updates.
- If replacing the current checking account, select Delete beneath that account. eBay generally permits only one checking account for payouts at a time.
- Select Add.
- Choose Log in to my bank for supported instant verification, or Enter manually and provide the requested details.
- Complete any identity check, statement upload, bank-login confirmation or microdeposit steps.
- Wait for eBay to confirm the account before expecting new payouts to use it. A replacement account generally takes up to two business days to be confirmed and enabled.
A name or address mismatch, unsupported account type or incomplete business information can stop verification and delay payouts. eBay’s seller-registration requirements are described at Registering as a seller.

How eBay moves money from a sale to your bank
1. The buyer pays eBay
Under managed payments, eBay processes the buyer’s supported payment method. You normally do not ask the buyer to send money separately through PayPal.
2. eBay processes the transaction
The proceeds first show as Processing. eBay says they commonly become Available for payout within 1–2 days after buyer payment when no hold applies.
3. eBay deducts costs
The amount sent is your net balance, not necessarily the buyer’s total. Deductions can include selling and final-value fees, optional listing upgrades, international and advertising fees, store charges, shipping labels, refunds and dispute-related amounts. If the balance is insufficient, eBay may charge an on-file debit or credit card or another valid payment method. Details are in How fees and selling costs are charged.

After eBay marks a standard payout as sent, the bank typically needs another 1–3 business days to make it spendable. “Funds sent” therefore does not mean the deposit is already visible in your available bank balance.
How long eBay payouts take
| Payout schedule | When eBay generally initiates the payout |
|---|---|
| Daily | Daily, for funds that became available during the previous 24 hours |
| Weekly | Tuesday, covering funds available from the prior Monday through Sunday |
| Biweekly | Every second Tuesday |
| Monthly | First Tuesday of each month |
These are eBay’s general schedules, not a guarantee of a particular arrival date. Weekends and bank holidays can move settlement to the next available banking day. International sales can also involve currency conversion before payout. The complete timing guidance is at Getting paid for items you’ve sold.

How to change your payout schedule
- Open Payments in Seller Hub.
- Choose Payout Settings.
- Select daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly payouts.
- Save or confirm the change.
Weekly, biweekly and monthly sellers may also see Withdraw for available funds. A daily seller already uses the fastest standard schedule and may not have the same on-demand control. The Payments tab also displays balances, transaction history, the next scheduled payout and downloadable reports: Using the Payments tab in Seller Hub.
Can you get eBay money faster?
Some sellers see an express payout option to an eligible verified bank account or Visa/Mastercard debit card. eBay says an express payout can typically arrive in about 30 minutes and costs a flat $2 per payout, deducted before sending. It is not available to every account or destination, so use it only when the option appears in your Payments area. Card-issuer limits can also affect where the money is delivered. Standard checking-account payouts avoid this express fee but use normal bank settlement.

Why eBay puts funds on hold
A hold can be tied to one transaction or your account as a whole. Common triggers include:

It also has a retractable spring line and 2 back nail slots, and the wall-mounted design ensures that you can read the data without obstruction. In additiion, the scales for packages comes with 4 measurement units: LB, OZ, KG and LB:OZ to meet your different needs.
- Hold and Tare: It will retain the number on the screen after pressing the H button, even after taking the package off the digital postal scale. The T button can zero out the weight of the container, providing the accurate result of net weight.
- Dual Power Supply Methods: Digital scale for shipping has two power supply modes, which can be powered by battery or Type-C(2 AAA batteries and charging cable are included). The postage scale will automatically turn off to save the power after 2 minutes no operation.

The polished, rust-proof surface is easy to clean and maintain. In addition, it also contains 4 non-slip suport, provide excellent cushioning and protection.
- New-seller status or a sudden change in selling activity.
- A high-value or unusual transaction.
- Missing, weak or unconfirmed delivery tracking; untracked shipments can wait longer.
- Late delivery, increased buyer claims, negative feedback, returns, cases or payment disputes.
- Identity, tax, business or compliance review, including Form W-9 validation problems.
- An invalid or missing payment method for selling costs, or an account restriction or suspension.
Release examples vary by seller type, shipping method, tracking and account history. eBay describes examples such as about two days after delivery confirmation for some new private sellers using an eBay label, about seven days for some third-party-label shipments, up to 31 days after buyer payment for some untracked shipments, and about 24 hours after delivery confirmation or 15 days after order placement in certain new-business-seller cases. These are examples, not universal deadlines; the expected release date shown in your Payments area controls. Read eBay’s transaction-holds guidance (also available at this alternate help page).

- Open Payments in Seller Hub or My eBay.
- Identify whether the money is Processing, On hold, Available, In progress, Returned, Blocked or Canceled.
- Check the scheduled payout date and open the payout details.
- Record the Payout ID and bank reference ID.
- Look for requests to verify identity, tax information or bank details.
- Confirm the routing number, account number, account ownership and that the destination is checking rather than savings.
- If eBay says Funds sent, ask your bank to trace the deposit using the bank reference ID and allow the normal 1–3-business-day settlement period.
- If the payout is Returned or Canceled, verify the account information, complete any outstanding verification and contact the bank about a rejected deposit.
- If the information is correct and the status remains unexplained, contact eBay through Help or Messages while providing the payout ID.
A new account must finish verification before it can receive payouts, and changing the account does not release funds already on hold. eBay’s failure-recovery instructions are at What to do if payouts fail.
Choosing a checking account, debit card and payout frequency
| Choice | Advantages | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Checking account | Routine deposits, business bookkeeping and larger balances | Verification may delay the first payout; standard settlement commonly takes 1–3 business days after sending |
| Eligible debit card | May support faster access for urgent withdrawals | Account-specific eligibility, card limits and a $2 express-payout fee |
| Daily | Fastest standard schedule | More frequent bank transactions |
| Weekly | Simpler reconciliation | Available funds wait for the weekly cycle |
| Biweekly or monthly | Consolidated records | Slower access to available proceeds |
Country and account qualifications
This guidance is for U.S. sellers. Other eBay sites can use different currencies, banking requirements, verification rules, payout methods and schedules. Even in the U.S., not every bank or fintech account is guaranteed to qualify: eBay must verify the account and its ownership information. For a registered business, use the business account and details associated with the business registration; for an individual, use matching personal information.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe Bottom Line
Connect one verified matching checking account in Payments, finish every identity and bank check, and read the status before assuming a deposit is late. Expect eBay’s processing period, your chosen payout schedule and then 1–3 business days for normal bank settlement; holds, verification failures and returned deposits require action rather than simply waiting.
