News reports identify “Golf Force One” as an up-armored Polaris Ranger XP 1000 utility terrain vehicle (UTV), but neither the White House nor the Secret Service has published a build sheet, armor specification or transaction price. Public figures provide only a range of context: about $45,000–$50,000 for a smaller armored-vehicle estimate, nearly $190,000 for a reported Polaris armor-kit listing, and $21,499 for the 2026 civilian Ranger XP 1000 before delivery and other charges.
What is “Golf Force One”?
“Golf Force One” is a media nickname, not an official model designation. The vehicle appeared with the presidential motorcade while Trump played golf in Scotland in July 2025. The War Zone described it as an up-armored Polaris Ranger UTV, while Fox News reported the White House confirmed it was “part of the presidential fleet of specialty vehicles.” That confirmation establishes its fleet role, but not the precise model configuration, armor supplier or protection level.
Reporting has connected the vehicle’s visible enclosure and protective structure with presidential security. The Secret Service has not discussed its technical design. A spokesperson told Carscoops: “The US Secret Service employs a variety of tools and resources to safeguard our protectees. In order to maintain operational security, the Secret Service does not discuss the specific means and methods used to conduct our protective operations.”
What the public cost figures actually represent
These numbers are often presented as if they were competing prices for the same vehicle. They are not. Each covers a different scope and has a different level of certainty.

| Figure | What it covers | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| $21,499 | Polaris’s U.S. starting MSRP for a 2026 Ranger XP 1000 civilian model | It excludes destination and handling, tax, title, license and registration; dealer pricing may vary, and it is not an armored build price. |
| $45,000–$50,000 | SlashGear’s 2025 estimate for armoring a smaller vehicle, depending on coverage and customization | It is not a Secret Service invoice or a disclosed estimate for Golf Force One. |
| Nearly $190,000 | A reported General Services Administration listing for a Scaletta add-on armor kit for a Polaris XP 1000 Ranger UTV, as reported by The War Zone in 2025 | It does not prove the kit was installed on this presidential vehicle, nor does it include the base UTV or every installation and modification cost. |
Why a complete build could cost more than the civilian UTV
The civilian Ranger price covers the underlying vehicle, not a specialized protective package. An armored conversion can involve a reinforced passenger compartment, ballistic-resistant glazing, doors, mounting hardware and suspension or braking changes to handle added weight. The sources do not identify which of those features Golf Force One has, whether they were supplied by Scaletta or another contractor, or whether the vehicle received additional communications and fleet equipment.
That missing information makes an all-in calculation unreliable. A $45,000–$50,000 armor estimate and a nearly $190,000 kit listing should therefore be read as separate reference points, not a low and high quote for the same presidential cart. Installation, transport, testing, maintenance and bespoke security work could change the total substantially, but no source reviewed supplies those amounts.

What is confirmed—and what remains unknown
Established by public reporting
- The vehicle was used with Trump’s motorcade on a Scottish golf course in July 2025.
- Reports identify it as an armored or up-armored Polaris Ranger XP 1000–type UTV.
- The White House called it part of the presidential fleet of specialty vehicles.
- Polaris lists a 2026 civilian Ranger XP 1000 at a starting U.S. MSRP of $21,499 before specified exclusions.
Not publicly established
- The exact amount paid for the presidential vehicle.
- The armor rating, glazing specification, underbody protection and other protective features.
- The contractor, final configuration, purchase date and whether a reported GSA-listed kit was used.
- Whether the reported vehicle is precisely the 2026 model-year civilian configuration shown on Polaris’s website.
So, how much may Trump’s armored golf vehicle cost?
The defensible answer is that its actual price is unknown. If the vehicle used a high-end armor package comparable to the nearly $190,000 GSA-listed kit, the total would have been higher than that kit price once the UTV, installation and other equipment were included. The $45,000–$50,000 figure is a narrower estimate for armoring a smaller vehicle and cannot be used as the presidential vehicle’s price. The $21,499 Polaris MSRP is only a civilian starting point.
Without an official procurement record or build sheet, assigning a single dollar amount would turn illustrative figures into a claim the available reporting does not support.
