Griffin Greenhouse Supplies has been named the stalking-horse bidder for assets associated with BFG Supply, establishing an initial offer framework—not a completed acquisition. Griffin is evaluating warehouses, inventory and other holdings, with October 22, 2026 identified as a targeted transaction date.
What Griffin’s initial offer means
Greenhouse Grower reported on October 2, 2026, that Griffin Greenhouse Supplies was named the stalking-horse bidder for BFG Supply assets. In the report’s description, that role establishes an initial offer or framework for evaluating assets and moving the transaction process forward. It does not confirm that a sale has closed.
The report does not disclose an offer price, a detailed schedule of assets, or the final boundaries of any transaction. Griffin said it was assessing whether warehouses, inventory and other holdings could complement its capabilities.
Which locations Griffin is considering
The report identifies five facilities for Griffin’s consideration:
#1 Best Overall
- Grand Rapids, Michigan
- Kalamazoo, Michigan
- St. Paul, Minnesota
- Denver, Colorado
- Fife, Washington
These are locations under consideration, not a confirmed list of sites Griffin will acquire.
Target date and what remains unconfirmed
Greenhouse Grower described October 22, 2026, as the targeted transaction date. That date was a target in the October 2 report, not confirmation of a closing. The report does not establish final sale terms, financing, a detailed asset list, or the transaction’s eventual status.

What Griffin said about employees and operations
Griffin anticipated adding more than 90 team members in connection with its continued growth and said approximately 30 had already onboarded at the time of the report. The expanded team was expected to support sales, customer service, operations, purchasing and other functions. These are Griffin’s reported expectations, not a final post-transaction staffing count or a guarantee about individual jobs.
Griffin Managing Director Andrew Barry said, “We are approaching this opportunity thoughtfully and with a long-term view of where Griffin can make the greatest impact,” and added, “Our people are ultimately what allow us to serve our customers,” as reported by Greenhouse Grower. The comments describe Griffin’s stated approach; they do not establish specific commitments for customers, vendors, employees or facilities.

What customers and vendors can conclude
The report signals that Griffin is evaluating assets and people for potential fit, but it does not spell out how customer accounts, orders, supplier relationships, inventory availability or service arrangements would change. Those outcomes depend on the assets and terms ultimately included in any transaction and should not be treated as settled based on the initial-offer announcement.
