GoTo has launched the LogMeIn Partner Network, a channel program built around LogMeIn Resolve and LogMeIn Rescue. Its initial focus is IT resellers and value-added resellers (VARs), with the company saying it plans to extend participation to managed service providers (MSPs) and global systems integrators (GSIs). The announcement sets out partner support and incentives, but not the commercial terms needed to judge their value.
What GoTo launched—and who it is for
This is a partner-program launch, not a new software product. GoTo says the network is intended to rebuild engagement around the LogMeIn brand and increase revenue generated through indirect sales. The initial emphasis is on VARs; MSPs and GSIs are described as groups GoTo plans to bring into the program, not as categories whose current eligibility is confirmed. CRN’s report on the launch quotes Steve Shattuck, GoTo’s vice president of global partner ecosystem and business development, on the company’s strategy.
The distinctions matter. A reseller or VAR sells a vendor’s product, often with implementation or related services. An MSP operates technology for customers on an ongoing basis, commonly for recurring fees. A GSI integrates products into larger, often enterprise-scale projects. An affiliate, by contrast, may refer leads or sales without reselling, implementing, or managing the customer’s environment. GoTo separately promotes an affiliate program; that should not be assumed to provide the commercial or technical terms of a channel relationship.
GoTo’s stated rationale is that partners can help it reach customers beyond the capacity of its direct sales organization. Shattuck describes a need to re-establish the LogMeIn brand with partners and make it easier to sell, market, and grow recurring business around its products. Those are the company’s motivations, not independent evidence that the earlier channel strategy failed or that this launch has already increased partner sales.

What the program says it offers—and what is still unclear
CRN reports that GoTo identified partner managers, onboarding, certification, joint marketing, tiered incentives, deal registration, and margin protection as program elements. GoTo also described an internal “comp neutrality” effort intended to limit competition between its direct sellers and channel partners. The public account does not provide a complete partner guide or contract.
| Program element | Publicly stated | Still to confirm with GoTo |
|---|---|---|
| Partner managers | Included among the announced resources, according to CRN. | Geographic coverage, assignment criteria, and support capacity. |
| Onboarding and certification | Both are listed as program support. | Training format, duration, fees, required certifications, and tier requirements. |
| Joint marketing | Co-marketing is an announced benefit. | Marketing-development funds, reimbursement rules, approval process, and eligible activities. |
| Tiered incentives | GoTo says the program has tiered financial incentives. | Rates, thresholds, product eligibility, payment timing, and clawbacks. |
| Deal registration and margin protection | Both are identified as program features. | Registration duration, exclusions, incumbent-account treatment, and coverage of renewals, expansions, or cross-sells. |
| “Comp neutrality” | GoTo describes an internal effort to avoid direct-sales competition with partners. | Whether and how the policy is enforceable under the partner agreement. |
| MSP and GSI participation | Expansion to these partner types is planned. | Launch timing, eligibility, and whether they use a distinct program track. |
Shattuck characterized the incentives as aggressive but attainable, according to CRN. Without published rates, thresholds, or comparisons, that is a description of GoTo’s intent—not proof that the economics are better than another vendor’s.
Which products are in scope
LogMeIn Resolve: endpoint and IT management
Resolve is GoTo’s broader platform for IT departments and MSPs. Its positioning spans remote monitoring and management, remote access and support, ticketing, automation, asset and patch management, mobile-device management, and security-related options. The mix may suit an MSP or reseller that wants to manage endpoint fleets and attach ongoing administration or other services. It may be less compelling where a partner already relies on deeply integrated RMM and PSA tools, needs specialized automation, or would incur substantial migration work.

Resolve’s breadth does not establish that every capability is included in every plan. GoTo’s general pricing page presents Starter, Growth, Advanced, and Complete plans, a free-start option, and add-ons including backup and data protection, endpoint protection, and camera sharing. It displays MDM from $2.75 per device per month. The separate MSP pricing page names Launch, Elevate, Accelerate, and Dominate plans, shows additional-endpoint starting prices that differ by plan, and displays MDM from $2.20 per device per month. Those are different figures on different official pages, not one universal MDM price; confirm the applicable plan, billing terms, volume, region, and add-ons before quoting customers.

LogMeIn Rescue: remote support for larger support workflows
Rescue is aimed more directly at enterprise IT support and customer-care organizations. Its published capabilities include remote device support, file transfer, customizable permissions, auditing and reporting, SSO and Active Directory synchronization, mobile support, AI-assisted session capabilities, and integrations with service and IT platforms. Potential users include enterprise help desks, contact centers, software vendors with support operations, and field-service organizations that need controlled support workflows.
The Rescue pricing page offers trials or plan selection for some options and directs buyers toward a quote for some advanced features or enterprise configurations. That makes a feature and requirements review important: a smaller reseller looking for inexpensive basic remote access may not need Rescue’s enterprise controls, while a larger support operation may value them.

The launch report identifies Resolve and Rescue as the program’s core products; it does not confirm bundled channel pricing or require partners to sell them together. Their different uses suggest distinct sales motions: Resolve for managing endpoint estates and ongoing IT operations, Rescue for structured remote-support workflows.
Why deal protection matters more than a list of benefits
For a channel partner, a training course or co-branded campaign has limited value if the vendor can take over a registered opportunity or undercut the partner on renewal. Deal registration, margin protection, and direct-sales neutrality therefore deserve scrutiny in the written terms. A policy described as “comp neutrality” may be an internal sales-compensation practice; it is not automatically a contractual promise that a partner owns an account or earns a specific margin.
Before investing in demos, staff training, or customer migration, ask how protection works for the full account lifecycle. A registration policy that covers only the initial sale may leave renewal and expansion economics unresolved. Likewise, a stated tiered incentive is hard to assess without knowing whether tiers are based on bookings, certifications, recurring revenue, customer retention, or some combination.

What MSPs should verify before applying
GoTo’s product marketing already presents Resolve for MSPs, and its MSP pricing page describes multi-company support, unlimited agents, RMM functions, and capabilities such as zero-trust controls, MFA, SSO, and asset management on relevant plans. That product availability does not prove that the planned MSP expansion of the new partner network is active or that every announced channel benefit applies to MSPs.
- Program eligibility: Ask whether MSP enrollment is open now, whether it is separate from the initial reseller track, and whether existing GoTo partners qualify automatically.
- Multi-tenant operations: Confirm how customer companies, technician roles, policy separation, and reporting work at the scale you expect.
- Tooling and integration: Validate PSA and ticketing connections, API access, SSO, MFA, audit records, and the depth of integrations your workflows require.
- Full unit economics: Model the complete plan and required add-ons, not just a displayed endpoint or device starting price. Include implementation, support, migration, and your own service-delivery time.
- Recurring revenue: Get the base margin, deal-registration uplift, renewal and expansion terms, payment schedule, minimum commitments, and clawback rules in writing.
- Support and training: Clarify certification cost and duration, demo access, pre-sales engineering, escalation paths, and whether promised Tier 2 support is available under the partner arrangement you are considering.
- Migration and customer communications: Establish how existing GoTo Resolve, GoToAssist, or LogMeIn customers are handled, including any changes to product names, portals, agents, installers, or customer terms.
- Service packaging: Check whether backup, endpoint protection, and other add-ons fit your security standards and create enough customer value to justify their cost and operational burden.
GoTo describes LogMeIn Resolve as the successor under a new name to GoTo Resolve, and its download page treats GoToAssist as legacy software with a path toward Resolve. Partners should still confirm the exact product lineage, contract entity, support portal, and customer-facing materials for the products and accounts they will handle. GoTo’s downloads page provides the current migration context.
Brand and channel-program distinctions
GoTo adopted its corporate name in February 2022 after operating as LogMeIn; it is now emphasizing LogMeIn again for its IT-management and remote-support portfolio. That can draw on familiar product recognition, but it also creates a practical naming question for partner campaigns and customer contracts. Confirm the product names and documentation GoTo expects partners to use rather than assuming the corporate and product brands are interchangeable.

The public channel directory invites organizations to join the LogMeIn Partner Network, but the visible page does not set out complete commercial terms. A signup path is not a substitute for a reseller agreement, a schedule of incentives, or written deal-registration rules. Nor should the separate affiliate offer—which promotes commissions for trials, qualified leads, and sales involving Resolve and LogMeIn Pro—be treated as evidence of reseller margins, implementation rights, or MSP operational support.
How to judge whether the launch is meaningful
The program addresses concerns channel partners commonly need answered: access to people and training, ways to register opportunities, and protection against direct-sales conflict. But the announcement establishes a strategic reset, not demonstrated channel momentum. A partner should evaluate the program against its own customer base and existing tools, then look for evidence in its actual agreement and operating experience.
Useful measures over time would include partner recruitment and activation, the share of sales sourced through partners, registered-opportunity outcomes, renewal and expansion performance, and customer wins partners can verify. Until GoTo publishes terms and results, the strongest basis for a decision is the written economics, enforceable account protection, product fit, and the cost of serving customers—not the launch language alone.
