Google Wallet’s browser experience expanded to 13 additional countries on July 9, 2024. The service had already been available in the United States and Japan, making 15 supported markets reported at the time. This was an expansion of web-based account and pass management—not a blanket expansion of Android tap-to-pay.
What Google Wallet on the web is
Google Wallet on the web is the browser-based service at wallet.google.com. Sign in with the Google Account associated with your Wallet or Google Pay activity to manage eligible cards, passes, transactions and settings from a computer or phone browser.
Google positioned the site as a consolidated successor to functions previously associated with pay.google.com. Wallet remains the product for storing and accessing payment cards, tickets, loyalty cards, keys and IDs, while Google Pay is still used for online and in-app payments and for supported payment infrastructure. Google explains the distinction in its Wallet overview.
The 13 countries added in 2024
The July 2024 expansion added these markets:
- Brazil
- Czech Republic
- France
- Germany
- Hungary
- Ireland
- Italy
- Netherlands
- Poland
- Romania
- Spain
- United Kingdom
- Ukraine
The United States and Japan were not part of the expansion; they were the two markets where the web experience was already available. Thus, the contemporary total was 2 existing markets + 13 new markets = 15 markets. The rollout date and list were reported by 9to5Google on July 9, 2024.

What you can do in the browser
Manage eligible payment methods
You can view saved cards and, where supported, add, edit or remove eligible credit and debit cards. The website cannot override an issuer’s decision: a bank, card type or country may not support Google Wallet.
View and manage passes
Eligible loyalty cards, boarding passes, event tickets and similar passes can appear online. Some passes expose a barcode or other information that can be used from the browser, but pass availability depends on the pass provider and market.

Review Wallet transaction information
The site includes Wallet-related transaction information and may provide a broader history than the short list of recent tap-to-pay activity shown in some Android app views. It is not a replacement for a bank statement and does not represent every Google Play purchase, Google Ads charge, Google Store order or online payment made with Google Pay.
Change account and privacy settings
Wallet, Google Pay, privacy and related account settings are available through the web interface. Google’s Wallet website help page describes the available controls and verification requirements.

What the website does not provide
- Phone tap-to-pay: A computer browser is not a contactless-payment terminal. Web availability does not activate NFC payments on an Android phone or Wear OS watch.
- Every Wallet credential: Government IDs and some other passes remain available only in the mobile Wallet app.
- Universal card or pass support: Issuers, transit agencies, loyalty programs and ticket providers must participate, and support varies by country, device and partner.
- Instant synchronization in every case: Google warns that payment-method changes made on the website may not appear immediately in the app. Verify the card or pass in the app before relying on it for travel or payment.
Some payment details require Google Prompt, two-step verification or another identity check. In the United States, Google specifically notes that certain payment information requires additional verification.
Does this expand contactless payments?
No. The 2024 announcement concerned access to the Wallet website. It did not, by itself, add tap-to-pay, transit, IDs, vehicle keys, hotel keys or every payment-card type in those 13 countries. Google maintains separate availability rules for the website, the Android and Wear OS apps, contactless payments, online checkout and individual passes.
For current country and feature information, use Google’s supported-countries checker. Google says availability can vary by country or region, device and participating partner, so the 2024 list is a historical rollout snapshot rather than a guarantee that every feature is offered today.

- Open https://wallet.google.com/.
- Sign in with the Google Account used for Wallet or Google Pay.
- Review the payment methods and passes that are available to that account.
- Select a card or pass to see the actions supported for it.
- Open the transactions area to review Wallet payment activity.
- Use settings to manage Wallet, Google Pay, privacy and related preferences.
- If Google asks for a payment method or identity check, follow the on-screen verification steps.
If the site is unavailable, Google recommends checking the account’s home country or region. Being physically abroad does not necessarily change the country associated with a Google Account, and a VPN is not a dependable or legitimate way to obtain support.

Why cards, passes or transactions may be missing
Country or account-region mismatch
Website access and individual features are tied to country or region. A supported country may still lack a particular bank card, transit system, government ID, loyalty program or ticket provider.
Issuer or card restrictions
A missing card can mean that the issuer or card type is unsupported, that another Google profile contains the card, or that additional verification is required. The browser cannot bypass those restrictions.
App and website synchronization
Changes can take time to appear in the mobile app. Check the app itself before deleting a physical card, boarding pass or other backup credential.
Different kinds of transaction records
Wallet history covers activity associated with Wallet or Google Pay. Bank statements and records for Google services remain separate, so a transaction visible in one system should not be treated as a complete financial ledger.
Current status
The phrase “launching in 13 more countries” is accurate for the July 9, 2024 rollout, not for a new August 2026 launch. Google’s current documentation still describes the website as a place to manage payment methods and passes, view transactions and change settings, while warning that availability and features differ by market. Check Google’s live country page before assuming that a particular card, pass or contactless function works where you are.
