There is no newly published Sunday benchmark rate from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA): it says it does not publish rates on Saturdays or Sundays. The latest benchmark records displayed by IBJA are dated Thursday, October 1, 2026. A secondary rate table also labels its prices “As on Oct 01, 2026,” so those figures should not be presented as verified fresh prices for Sunday, October 4.

ET Markets’ India table lists indicative prices as of October 1, 2026. The figures below are per gram and per 10 grams, excluding GST:

ET Markets’ page carries an October 4 label, but its table specifies October 1 as the date basis. Its page description also gives a Delhi 24-carat figure for October 4 that conflicts with the table’s date basis. The available information therefore does not establish a verified fresh nationwide Sunday price.
Why Sunday’s rate is not a fresh IBJA benchmark
IBJA describes its rates as benchmark rates, quotes gold per 10 grams, and lists multiple purities. Its terms say: “We do not publish rates on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.” It also says opening and closing rates are not published on central government holidays. The latest records shown on its rates page are dated October 1, not October 4. Check IBJA rates and publication terms before comparing a quoted price with a jeweller’s offer.

IBJA separately displays the following indicative retail selling rates per gram, dated October 1, 2026. Its page says these exclude 3% GST and making charges:

These are indicative retail rates, not a final jewellery invoice or Sunday-published figures. IBJA’s indicative retail rates page states: “The above rates are without 3% GST and Making Charges”.

The reported weekly fall is 0.77%, not 0.66%
The 0.66% decline in the headline is not supported by the cited weekly table. ET Markets’ table for September 28–October 4 reports a 0.77% decline for both 22K and 24K. Because the table prices themselves are labeled as of October 1, treat this as the table’s reported weekly change rather than evidence of a new Sunday quote.

Before comparing rates or estimating what you will pay, make sure each quote uses the same basis:

- Date: Check when the rate was published or the date it applies to; a page dated October 4 may show a table last updated for October 1.
- Purity: Distinguish 24-carat or 999 gold from 22-carat or 916 gold, and check the stated purity for other jewellery.
- Unit: Convert consistently between per-gram and per-10-gram figures.
- Quote type: A benchmark, indicative retail rate, and local jeweller quote are not interchangeable.
- Inclusions: Confirm whether GST and making charges are included. IBJA’s cited retail rates exclude both, and ET Markets’ cited prices exclude GST.
The cited rates do not establish city-level jeweller quotes or a final Sunday price including taxes and making charges. Ask the local jeweller for the complete, itemised price before making a purchase.
