GoDaddy announced Cloud Servers and Bitnami-powered Cloud Applications on March 21, 2016. The launch offered hourly-billed virtual servers and one-click software deployments for developers and IT professionals—not physical servers for customers to buy. Its worldwide reach had an important limit: GoDaddy said the offering reached 26 languages and 53 markets, while Cloud Servers were hosted in U.S. datacenters at launch.
What GoDaddy launched in 2016
The announcement covered two related services: Cloud Servers, which provided virtual computing instances, and Cloud Applications, which used Bitnami to deploy software onto those servers. GoDaddy positioned them for people building, testing, and scaling online services, rather than as a simple shared-hosting plan for a typical personal website.
The company said servers could be provisioned in 54 seconds or less. Users could manage instances through an API or a web interface, build and clone servers, save configurations as snapshots, and relaunch from those images. The platform was described as using OpenStack, KVM virtualization, and SSD storage. These are features claimed for the 2016 launch, not verified specifications for a current GoDaddy service. How the launch billing worked
GoDaddy described Cloud Servers as pay-as-you-go, with charges calculated by the hour and an option to set a monthly limit. The official announcement text does not list tier prices. Contemporaneous TechCrunch coverage reported a $5-per-month starting price for a 20GB option and a monthly cap of up to $80 for an 80GB option. Those are historical launch figures reported by TechCrunch, not current prices; they should not be used to estimate a present-day hosting bill. TechCrunch’s launch coverage

What Cloud Servers and Applications included
Server management and networking
GoDaddy listed automatic backups, private networking, permanent IP addresses, and the ability to assign multiple IP addresses to a server. It also highlighted integration with GoDaddy domains and DNS. Snapshots could preserve a server configuration for later relaunch, while API access offered a way to manage instances programmatically. The release stated a 99.9% uptime guarantee for the launch service; it does not establish the terms or applicability of any current guarantee.
Operating systems at launch
The supported distributions named in the announcement were Ubuntu 14.04, CentOS 6 and 7, Fedora 23, Debian 8, FreeBSD, CoreOS, and Arch Linux. Those version numbers describe the 2016 launch and should not be read as a current support list.

Bitnami application deployments
Cloud Applications used Bitnami for one-click deployment. GoDaddy’s examples included WordPress, Drupal, Odoo, OpenERP, OpenCart, and Magento. This was intended to reduce setup work for users who wanted to start with a packaged application rather than configure every component manually. The announcement documents the launch partnership, not whether these applications are available through GoDaddy today.
What “worldwide launch” meant
GoDaddy described the launch as worldwide and said the offering was available in 26 languages and 53 markets. At the same time, it specified that Cloud Servers were in U.S. datacenters at launch. The reach figures therefore do not mean that server infrastructure was located in all 53 markets.

Can you still buy these GoDaddy cloud plans?
The 2016 announcement and contemporaneous coverage establish what GoDaddy launched then, but do not establish whether Cloud Servers or the Bitnami-powered Cloud Applications remain available, or whether another service replaced them. GoDaddy’s current web-hosting page describes web-hosting plans; it does not show that those plans are continuations of the 2016 Cloud Servers. Check GoDaddy’s current product and support information before relying on historical feature lists, prices, or availability.
