Geekflare’s online payslip generator turns pay details you enter into a PDF and totals the earnings and deductions you provide. Its page does not establish that it calculates statutory tax or validates compliance, so verify the amounts and local payslip rules before issuing the document.
What the Geekflare payslip generator does
Geekflare describes a form for company details (including an optional logo), employee ID, name, hire date and address, currency, pay period, pay date, and basic pay. You can add earnings and deduction line items. The page says the tool calculates gross pay, total deductions, and net pay, then creates a PDF with one click. INR is the default currency shown; the page says other currencies can be selected. See Geekflare’s payslip generator.
Examples on the page include bonuses, commissions, travel allowances, income tax, health insurance, and Provident Fund. These are examples of entries you may add, not evidence that the tool determines the correct amount for any statutory or other deduction.
How to make a payslip online
- Enter the employer and employee details requested by the form, and choose the currency and pay period.
- Add basic pay and any relevant earnings as line items, then enter deductions and their amounts.
- Review the entered details and totals. Check that gross pay, total deductions, and net pay reflect your payroll calculations.
- Generate the PDF and check the finished document against the requirements that apply where you employ the worker.
The available product description establishes PDF creation and totaling of user-entered amounts. It does not establish payroll filing, employee delivery, batch generation, integrations, or how the tool transmits, stores, or deletes payroll data. Do not enter sensitive payroll information unless you have assessed the tool’s privacy terms and suitability for your needs.

Does it calculate payslip deductions?
The generator totals earnings and deductions that you enter; the product page does not say it independently calculates or verifies income tax, National Insurance, or other statutory deductions. Treat it as a document-generation tool, not as proof that payroll calculations are correct. If you need to know how to calculate payslip deductions, use a payroll process or service appropriate to your jurisdiction, and confirm the figures before creating the payslip.
What should be on a payslip? UK requirements
Requirements depend on location. In the UK, employers must give covered employees and workers a payslip on or before payday. GOV.UK requires it to show gross wages, deductions such as tax and National Insurance, and net wages. Hours worked must also be shown where pay varies according to time worked. Payslips may be printed or electronic. GOV.UK guidance on payslips sets out these requirements.

For deductions fixed in amount, UK employee guidance says the explanation must appear on the payslip or in a separate written statement. The statement must be provided before the first payslip and updated each year. Read GOV.UK’s guidance on understanding a payslip.
These are UK-specific rules, not global requirements. Before issuing a payslip elsewhere, check the applicable rules for required fields, timing, and delivery format. A generated PDF is not automatically compliant just because it contains pay totals.

When a payroll calculation tool may be more appropriate
If you are a UK employer who needs both payroll calculations and a payslip, HMRC’s Basic PAYE Tools guidance describes a separate workflow that calculates income tax, National Insurance, and student or postgraduate loan deductions, and creates a payslip that can be saved as a PDF. HMRC says the tool is for employers with fewer than 10 employees. It does not calculate or support workplace pension contributions, and employers must get employees’ agreement before emailing payslips made with it. Check HMRC’s Basic PAYE Tools guidance for current eligibility and limitations. This is a UK option, not a universal payroll solution.
| Need | Geekflare payslip generator | HMRC Basic PAYE Tools (UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Enter pay details and produce a PDF payslip | The page describes user-entered employer, employee, earnings, and deduction details, with PDF output. (Geekflare: tool page) | Guidance describes a payroll and payslip workflow, including a payslip saved as PDF. (HMRC: tool guidance) |
| Calculate statutory payroll deductions | Not established by the product page; it describes totaling amounts entered by the user. (Geekflare: tool page) | Calculates income tax, National Insurance, and student or postgraduate loan deductions; does not calculate or support workplace pension contributions. (HMRC: tool guidance) |
| Stated eligibility or delivery condition | Not stated on the cited product page. (Geekflare: tool page) | For UK employers with fewer than 10 employees; agreement is needed before emailing payslips created with it. (HMRC: tool guidance) |
The practical distinction is whether you already have reliable payroll figures and want to produce a one-off document, or need a payroll workflow that calculates specified deductions. Neither choice removes the need to check local requirements and any features your own process depends on.

Before you issue the PDF
- Confirm each earnings and deduction amount using your payroll records or a suitable payroll calculation method.
- Check gross pay versus net pay: net pay should reflect gross pay less the deductions entered.
- Review the employee, employer, pay-period, and pay-date details for errors.
- Check required payslip fields, timing, and delivery rules in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Assess privacy and data handling before entering employee information; the cited Geekflare page does not establish how payroll data is transmitted, stored, or deleted.
