On 1 October 2026, £1 was worth S$1.6925 at the Bank of England’s daily spot reference rate. At that dated rate, £100 converts to S$169.25 before any exchange-provider spread or fee. It is a reference observation, not a guaranteed rate you can get on 4 October 2026.
How to convert GBP to SGD
GBP is the amount you start with and SGD is the amount you want to calculate. Multiply the pounds by the quoted number of Singapore dollars per pound:
GBP amount × SGD-per-GBP rate = SGD amount before costs
Using the Bank of England’s rate observed on 1 October 2026:

£100 × 1.6925 = S$169.25
The calculation gives a rate-only estimate. Your actual amount depends on the rate and fees offered by the bank, card, cash-exchange service or money-transfer provider you use.
What the quoted GBP-to-SGD rate means
The Bank of England’s daily spot table recorded 1 GBP = 1.6925 SGD on 1 October 2026. Its nearby observations were 1.6968 on 30 September and 1.6893 on 29 September, showing why a conversion rate should always be paired with its date. Bank of England daily spot rates

The Bank says its exchange rates “are not official rates and are no more authoritative than that of any commercial bank operating in the London foreign exchange market.” In other words, the figure is a useful reference, not a promise of what a customer will receive.
Why another official table shows a different rate
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office lists an October 2026 consular rate of S$1.76 per £1, effective from 1 through 31 October. That is a rate for the FCDO’s stated consular context; it is not an individual exchange-service quote and should not be substituted for the Bank of England’s dated daily spot observation. The Monetary Authority of Singapore describes its exchange rates as averages of buying and selling interbank rates quoted around midday in Singapore. It also disclaims warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, currentness and fitness for a particular purpose. An institutional or interbank reference therefore does not establish the rate available for a particular transaction. Monetary Authority of Singapore exchange rates

Check the quote from the provider and payment method you intend to use. Compare the final SGD amount after charges rather than relying on a reference-rate calculation alone.

- Check the provider’s GBP-to-SGD rate and when the quote applies.
- Look for explicit fees and any exchange-rate spread.
- Compare the SGD amount left after all charges.
- Consider delivery or settlement time and method.
The official reference sources above do not establish a personal transaction quote or rank providers. Your provider’s quote is needed to determine the amount payable or receivable.
