It applied to the unlocked 512GB model, reported at $1,029 instead of $1,419, with no trade-in or coupon code required, according to Droid Life’s deal report. The savings did not apply to every storage tier, and the old price should not be treated as current.
What the $390 discount actually covered
The October 2025 offer was for an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with 512GB of storage sold through Amazon. The cited prices in the original report were $1,419 before the discount and $1,029 on sale, a $390 reduction. Droid Life reported that buyers did not need a trade-in or coupon code.
| Configuration | Samsung U.S. list price | Reported October 2025 Amazon price | Reported savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| 256GB | $1,299.99 | $949 | $350 |
| 512GB | $1,419.99 | $1,029 | $390 |
| 1TB | $1,659.99 | No $390 offer established | Not stated |
Samsung’s U.S. product pages list the configurations at $1,299.99, $1,419.99, and $1,659.99, respectively; those are reference list prices, not a promise that a configuration is in stock or selling for that amount now. See Samsung’s 256GB listing and 512GB listing.
Why the headline can be misleading
“Samsung Bashes” makes the promotion sound like a Samsung price cut, but the reported seller was Amazon. The $390 arithmetic was specific to the 512GB model: $1,419 minus $1,029. The 256GB model was cheaper overall, but its reported discount was $350, not $390. The offer was also time-limited and associated with Amazon’s October 2025 Fall Prime Big Deal Days rather than a permanent price change.

Follow-up coverage during the event reported the 256GB model at $935 and the 512GB version from about $1,030, illustrating that sale prices could shift by listing or timing. Those figures were reported by 9to5Google; they do not establish a current Amazon price.
Is the deal still available?
The October 2025 price is historical. The available pricing information does not verify that Amazon still offers the same configuration or discount in 2026. Samsung’s indexed U.S. pages showed some configurations at $300 below list—$999.99 for 256GB, $1,119.99 for 512GB, and $1,359.99 for 1TB—but availability varied, and some variants were marked out of stock. Those indexed prices are not a guarantee of today’s checkout total. Check the selected configuration and final price directly before buying.

Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. business MSRP document continued to list the 256GB Titanium Black model at $1,299.99 and marked that model EOL in that document. That does not establish that every S25 Ultra configuration has been discontinued; it does reinforce that stock and pricing may vary. Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP document.
Amazon versus buying directly from Samsung
The historical Amazon offer suited buyers seeking a straightforward cash discount without giving up an existing phone. A Samsung-direct offer is a different comparison: Samsung’s purchase pages have shown configuration-dependent discounts and trade-in incentives, along with financing and Care+ options. One indexed Samsung page advertised up to $570 in trade-in savings, but that is a maximum, not a guaranteed credit; the value depends on the device and the offer’s conditions. Check the estimate for your exact trade-in at Samsung’s trade-in purchase page.

Compare the amount you will actually pay, not the headline discount. A trade-in credit may make Samsung’s checkout total lower for someone with an eligible phone, while a buyer without a trade-in may prefer a retailer’s immediate price reduction. Financing spreads payments but does not by itself reduce the purchase price. Samsung’s purchase flow also offers Care+ options; confirm current coverage and cost there rather than assuming an indexed price applies.
Which storage tier makes sense?
Choose 256GB to minimize the upfront cost
The 256GB version had the lower reported October sale price of $949. It is likely adequate for everyday apps, messaging, photos, and streamed media, especially if you regularly use cloud storage. Its reported discount was $350 from the cited $1,299 reference price.

Choose 512GB if you will use the extra space
The reported $390 reduction belonged to the 512GB model. Its additional storage can suit large photo and video libraries, offline media, or longer ownership with less reliance on cloud storage. The deal does not establish better camera or processor performance for the 512GB configuration; the relevant difference here is storage and price.

It may still suit someone who specifically wants a large-screen Samsung flagship, an unlocked phone, substantial storage, and Samsung’s software and ecosystem—especially if a current cash discount is available without a trade-in. Since the S25 Ultra is no longer Samsung’s newest S-series Ultra model in 2026, compare its actual checkout price with newer Galaxy flagships and other premium phones before deciding. The historical discount alone does not establish that it is the best-value or best-performing option today.

What to verify before ordering
- Confirm the listing is for the unlocked phone and the exact storage capacity you intend to buy.
- Check who sells the device—Amazon, Samsung, or a third-party marketplace seller—and whether it is new rather than renewed or refurbished.
- Verify the model is intended for the U.S. market and check applicable manufacturer warranty support, return terms, and seller policies.
- Confirm whether the price applies to your selected color and whether any coupon must be clipped; do not assume the historical offer or discount is still available.
- Review the final checkout price, including taxes and any required extras. Samsung states that the S25 Ultra does not include a charger, so budget for one if you do not already have a compatible charger. Details appear on Samsung’s product page.
