The ESPN Unlimited Black Friday 2025 promotion was real, but it has expired. The offer bundled Disney+ with ads, Hulu with ads and ESPN Unlimited for $29.99 per month for the first 12 months. The launch-era regular price for that ad-supported bundle was $35.99 per month, so the promotion saved $6 monthly, or $72 over a year. The offer terms stated that it ended January 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time.
This was a U.S. promotion. It should not be confused with a currently claimable 2026 deal, ESPN Select, or the older ESPN+ service.
What was the ESPN Unlimited Black Friday deal?
| Detail | 2025 promotion |
|---|---|
| Monthly price | $29.99 |
| Promotional period | First 12 months |
| Included | Disney+ with ads, Hulu with ads and ESPN Unlimited |
| Launch-era regular price | $35.99 per month |
| Total promotional payments | $359.88 before taxes |
| Maximum first-year savings | $72 before taxes |
| Expiration | January 5, 2026 |
The promotion was marketed in Black Friday and holiday deal coverage, but it was not necessarily a one-day Black Friday sale. ESPN launched its direct-to-consumer service on August 21, 2025, and the $29.99 offer continued through the holiday period. ESPN’s launch announcement and the official ESPN FAQ document the service and bundle structure.
What ESPN Unlimited included
ESPN Unlimited was the broader ESPN direct-to-consumer tier. ESPN said it included:

- Live and on-demand programming across ESPN’s sports rights portfolio
ESPN described the service as covering approximately 47,000 live events annually, including NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, WNBA, UFC, college sports, soccer, tennis and golf. That figure and the rights portfolio were ESPN’s descriptions, not a guarantee that every event was available to every subscriber.
Local-market rules, league rights, regional restrictions, blackouts and event-specific availability still applied. A subscription did not mean that you could watch every game or every ESPN-related broadcast in every location.
ESPN Unlimited versus ESPN Select
| Feature | ESPN Select | ESPN Unlimited |
|---|---|---|
| Launch-era monthly price | $11.99 | $29.99 |
| Primary use | ESPN+ content and programming | ESPN Select content plus ESPN’s linear networks and broader live coverage |
| Linear ESPN networks | Not the full network package | Yes, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and ACC Network |
| Disney+ and Hulu | Not included in the Unlimited promotion | Included in the 2025 promotional bundle with ads |
| Best for | Viewers mainly seeking ESPN+ originals and on-demand sports | Fans wanting broad ESPN coverage without traditional pay TV |
ESPN Select was the closer successor to the old ESPN+ tier. ESPN Unlimited was not simply a renamed ESPN+ subscription: it was designed to add the broader ESPN network lineup. Existing ESPN+ subscribers were transitioned to ESPN Select, but that did not automatically make every existing subscriber eligible for the Unlimited promotional bundle.

Ads and service restrictions
The $29.99 bundle used the ad-supported versions of Disney+ and Hulu. ESPN programming also continued to include advertising, including commercials and promotional interruptions during live events and studio shows.
Even a premium Disney+ or Hulu tier would not make ESPN programming fully ad-free. The launch-era premium Disney+/Hulu/ESPN Unlimited bundle was advertised at $44.99 per month, but ESPN itself still carried sports advertising.
Other limitations included:
- Blackouts and local-market restrictions.
- League- and event-specific distribution rules.
- Regional differences in ESPN on ABC and other programming.
- No automatic access to local broadcast stations, regional sports networks or non-ESPN channels.
What happened after the first year?
The $29.99 price was an introductory monthly rate, not a prepaid 12-month subscription or permanent price. After the promotional period, the subscription was scheduled to renew at the then-current regular rate unless canceled. The launch-era regular price for the ad-supported bundle was $35.99 per month, equivalent to $431.88 over 12 months before taxes, but future pricing could change.

Is the 2025 deal still available?
No. The 2025 ESPN Unlimited Black Friday promotion ended January 5, 2026. The $29.99 price should not be presented as an active offer unless a new promotion is separately confirmed on the official Disney bundle page or ESPN service page.

Who benefited most from the promotion?
The deal was strongest for households that wanted both sports and entertainment. During the first year, ESPN Unlimited alone cost $29.99 per month—the same as the promotional bundle—so Disney+ and Hulu had an effective incremental cost of $0 compared with buying ESPN Unlimited alone. That comparison assumes the household actually used both services and completed the promotional period.
It was less attractive for:
- Viewers interested only in ESPN+ content, who may have preferred ESPN Select at its launch price of $11.99 per month.
- Households already receiving ESPN through a qualifying cable, satellite or live-TV provider.
- Anyone requiring ad-free Disney+ and Hulu.
- Sports fans needing local channels, regional sports networks or a wider non-ESPN channel lineup.
- Customers unable to use the services for the full 12-month introductory period.
Alternatives to the 2025 bundle
ESPN Unlimited standalone
At launch, ESPN Unlimited alone cost $29.99 per month or $299.99 annually. It was the sports-only choice and did not include Disney+ or Hulu. It made more sense than the entertainment bundle for a household that did not want either streaming service.
ESPN Select
ESPN Select launched at $11.99 per month or $119.99 annually. It focused on ESPN+ content and did not provide the full set of linear ESPN networks available through Unlimited. It was the more economical option for ESPN+ originals, on-demand programming and the cheaper sports catalog.

ESPN Unlimited and FOX One
ESPN and FOX announced a separate combined bundle at $39.99 per month, available October 2, 2025. It paired ESPN Unlimited with FOX One rather than Disney+ and Hulu. See the official announcement for the announced terms.
Traditional pay TV or live-TV streaming
A conventional pay-TV or live-TV streaming service may be a better fit if you need local broadcast stations, regional sports networks, news, entertainment channels outside the Disney portfolio or a traditional channel guide. The trade-off is usually a higher total bill and less flexibility. Provider pricing and channel availability vary by location and require current verification.
