TechBullion’s June 20, 2023 article says Emotivci was founded in 2018 by Veljo Misolic and Željka Mihaljević. It describes small plush toys intended to recognize a child’s emotional state and respond, with examples including singing or cuddling.
The article attributes the alleged design to heart-rate and skin-conductance sensors, as well as facial recognition. It also makes claims about awards and educational value. Those details are claims in that article, not facts independently confirmed by company records, technical documentation, named award evidence, or another primary source.
What is—and is not—verified
The published TechBullion page verifies that an account of Emotivci appeared online. It does not prove that Emotivci was a registered Croatian business, that the named people founded it, or that a prototype or product was made or sold. No company website or other primary source in the available evidence confirms those points.

- Reported, not independently verified: the 2018 founding date, the founders’ names, the sensor-equipped plush toys, and the claimed awards.
- Unestablished: business registration, product models, technical performance, sales, and whether the company still operates.
The article offers no model names, product specifications, demonstration, purchase page, safety information, privacy policy, or evidence that the toys reached commercial production. Its wording also includes unrelated phrases such as “Emotivci serije turske,” “novelas,” and “online,” which overlap with results associating the name with streaming content. That is a reason for caution, not proof that the toy-company account was fabricated.
The unresolved domain and identity question
Search results associate emotivci.cc with a streaming site for Turkish television series; another secondary page makes a similar association (iskustva.online). A domain-monitoring page describes the domain as inactive or redirecting and records the TechBullion article as its media mention. These references create an unresolved identity inconsistency: they do not establish that a toy venture and a streaming service were the same entity, nor do they confirm the alleged company’s existence.

The available evidence also does not resolve whether the TechBullion article drew on an inaccessible press release, was syndicated, or was produced from another source. Without an attributable primary record, those possibilities remain open.
What “emotionally intelligent” would mean in practice
The phrase can describe very different things, and it is not, by itself, evidence of a toy’s capabilities:

- Responsive toys react to touch, sound, movement, or voice without inferring emotion.
- Affective-computing toys attempt to infer a state from behavioral or physiological signals.
- Sensory or therapeutic products may be designed to support calming or regulation, but that purpose does not establish clinical effectiveness.
Heart rate and skin conductance are indirect signals. The same changes can accompany excitement, fear, exercise, fever, anxiety, or sensory overload; they cannot by themselves identify one specific emotion. Facial expression is also an imperfect proxy. A claim that a toy “understands” a child would require evidence about what it measures, how it interprets those signals, and how well that interpretation works across children and situations. The TechBullion account provides no such validation or test results.
Questions a real sensor-equipped toy would need to answer
If a product collected facial or physiological data from children, parents and educators would need clear answers before relying on it:

- What parental consent is required, how long is data retained, and how can it be deleted?
- Does the toy function offline, and what happens if an app, account, or service becomes unavailable?
- What age group is it designed for, and what safety information and testing support that age rating?
- Is it presented as a play or educational product, or does anyone make therapeutic or diagnostic claims?
- How does the system handle inaccurate readings, different facial movements, lighting, disability, or neurodivergence?
These are due-diligence questions raised by the described design, not documented defects in an Emotivci product. No privacy, safety, or technical documentation for such a product is established in the available sources.

Several Croatia-based makers publish information about real products, but they are not evidence that Emotivci existed—and they are not interchangeable with an emotion-sensing plush toy.

For a buyer, the useful starting point is the need: sensory furniture, hands-on creative play, didactic equipment, or an electronic companion are different categories. Compare the maker’s stated age range, intended use, safety information, and data practices where relevant. A seller’s description of a developmental benefit is not the same as independent evidence of a therapeutic outcome.
Can you buy an Emotivci toy now?
No verified Emotivci catalog, official sales page, retailer listing, or current operating status is established in the available evidence. There is therefore no substantiated Emotivci price or product availability to rely on. Treat a listing using the name as unconfirmed unless the seller can provide verifiable manufacturer details, product documentation, safety information, and a clear returns policy.
Verdict
Emotivci is a published startup story, but the company and its alleged emotion-responsive toys remain unconfirmed.
