The focus is not simply whether an agent is online, but whether teams can understand its behavior and respond when something goes wrong. For organizations evaluating the alliance, the key questions are what the integrations cover, how they support operations, and what AWS Marketplace contributes to procurement.
What the Dynatrace–AWS alliance is focused on
The collaboration combines technical integrations with joint marketing and co-selling. Its newest emphasis is observability for agentic AI—systems that can make decisions and take actions through tools or other services. Dynatrace’s platform is intended to bring agent activity into the same operational view as application traces, infrastructure health, and related telemetry.
That context matters because an agent can return an unsatisfactory result even while its service remains available. Operators may need to follow the sequence of model interactions and tool calls, identify dependencies, and see relevant performance, cost, evaluation, or security signals. AWS technology-partnerships executive Chris Grusz told CRN, “You can’t make those decisions without seeing what’s going on.” Dynatrace SVP Jay Snyder described customers’ need as “the confidence to know that they know what’s happening with those AI workloads.” These are the alliance’s operating rationale, not evidence of a measured reliability or cost improvement.
How the collaboration developed
| Date | Development |
|---|---|
| April 1, 2025 | Dynatrace announced a new multi-year strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with AWS covering automation, intelligence, deeper insight into AWS environments, and support for generative AI applications. |
| September 30, 2025 | Dynatrace announced the AWS Generative AI Competency, positioning its platform for generative-AI workloads on AWS. |
| November 18, 2025 | Dynatrace announced integration with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore for end-to-end observability of agentic AI on AWS. |
| December 3, 2025 | At AWS re:Invent, Dynatrace announced expanded AWS integrations, an AWS Agentic AI Specialization, cloud-operations discovery and telemetry capabilities, and a related integration with AWS DevOps Agent. |
| February 9, 2026 | Dynatrace said lifetime sales through AWS Marketplace had exceeded $1 billion and highlighted its AgentCore and AWS DevOps Agent integrations. |
| March 31, 2026 | CRN described AWS DevOps Agent as generally available and reported its integration with Dynatrace for autonomous workload observability and incident response. |
The dates distinguish announcements from later availability reporting: the December 2025 announcement of a related DevOps Agent integration is not itself the same event as CRN’s March 2026 report of general availability. Product scope and availability may change, so buyers should confirm current regional and service details with AWS and Dynatrace.

What agent observability can show
Dynatrace’s documentation lists monitoring and tracing for Amazon Bedrock AgentCore agents and gateway traffic, AWS Strands Agents, MCP agents, LangGraph and LangChain, SageMaker, and other model and application frameworks. This breadth does not mean every framework exposes identical data or that every signal is available in every deployment. The practical detail depends on the integration and the telemetry configured.
For an AWS agent workflow, useful observability can connect several layers of activity:
Rank #2
- Ideal for Gifting
- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
- Execution and topology: traces and relationships among an agent, its gateway, models, tools, applications, and dependencies.
- Model interaction: provider and model metadata, token use, and prompt and response context where the integration and configuration expose it.
- Tool use: the path an agent took through tools or services, which helps teams investigate how an outcome was produced.
- Operational context: application traces, infrastructure health, and performance signals alongside agent activity.
- Evaluation and risk context: evaluation results and security signals where available, which can inform review of an agent’s behavior and whether an action was appropriate.
These are categories teams may seek to observe, not a guarantee that a dashboard explains every model decision. Tracing can document the context and sequence around an output; it does not by itself prove why a model generated a particular response or establish that the response was safe.
Where AWS DevOps Agent fits
CRN reported that the generally available AWS DevOps Agent integrates with Dynatrace for autonomous workload observability and incident response. In practical terms, Dynatrace telemetry can contribute operational context to an AWS agent-assisted workflow, while the DevOps Agent is associated with workload investigation and response. The available evidence establishes an integration, not a quantified improvement in incident resolution time, uptime, or operating cost.

Teams considering this workflow should verify which Dynatrace signals the integration can access, what actions the DevOps Agent is permitted to take, and what approval or review controls apply in their environment. Those details affect how much autonomy is appropriate; the alliance announcements do not establish a single configuration suitable for every organization.
Why AWS Marketplace matters commercially
AWS Marketplace is the principal procurement and packaging channel described for the alliance. CRN reports that Dynatrace lifetime sales through AWS Marketplace surpassed $1 billion, with about 75% of that sales volume coming in the two years preceding CRN’s 2026 report. These are figures reported by CRN, not independently audited market totals. Dynatrace also told CRN that more than 90% of its business is with and through partners, and that 11 of its 12 largest million-dollar-plus Q3 deals were done with partners. These, too, are company claims quoted by CRN, rather than independent measures of market share.
Rank #4
AWS’s Multi-Product Solutions capability lets system integrators package AWS, independent-software-vendor, and services components together, according to CRN. That can give buyers a route to procure a combined solution, but it does not by itself establish a lower total cost. Organizations should compare the Marketplace offer and any services package against their existing agreements, usage needs, implementation work, and governance requirements. Dynatrace says it plans to continue expanding AI observability offerings through AWS Marketplace.

There is no independent customer performance test or benchmark in the available reporting to establish reliability gains, lower latency, or cost savings from the alliance. A buyer’s evaluation should therefore focus on fit and evidence from its own workload.

Best Value
- It can be a gift option
- Comes with secure packaging
- Helpful in various ways
- Framework coverage: confirm that the deployed agents and frameworks—such as AgentCore, Strands, MCP, LangGraph, or LangChain—are supported for the specific monitoring and tracing needed.
- Trace detail: check whether the integration exposes prompts and responses, token information, tool calls, topology, and dependencies at the detail your incident and audit processes require.
- Evaluation and security: determine which evaluation results and security signals are available, and how teams will review risky or unexpected actions.
- Telemetry scope: establish which AWS-native metadata, application traces, and infrastructure signals are collected, and whether the deployment spans other clouds or providers.
- Automation boundaries: clarify what AWS DevOps Agent can observe and do, what requires human approval, and how incidents are escalated.
- Commercial and governance terms: check Marketplace packaging, partner responsibilities, billing arrangements, data handling, and access controls against the organization’s procurement and governance policies.
