Wiz announced on November 21, 2024, that it would acquire cybersecurity company Dazz. The $450 million deal value—and the description of the payment as cash and shares—came from TechCrunch, which cited sources familiar with the deal; Wiz’s announcement did not disclose a price.

Did Wiz buy Dazz for $450 million?

Wiz said it would acquire Dazz, but its announcement did not confirm the purchase price or payment terms. TechCrunch reported the transaction was valued at $450 million and structured as cash and shares, citing sources familiar with the matter. That makes $450 million a reported deal value, not a figure disclosed by Wiz. TechCrunch’s report provides the price attribution; Wiz’s announcement confirms the planned acquisition and explains its strategic rationale.

Why did Wiz want Dazz?

Wiz presented Dazz as a way to extend its risk-remediation and application-security capabilities. The company said Dazz could help security teams connect information from different sources and trace issues to root causes, linking code vulnerabilities with cloud context.

Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport described the intended fit this way: “With Dazz’s industry-leading remediation engine, we can empower security teams to correlate data from multiple sources and manage application risks in one unified platform.” This is Wiz’s account of the product rationale, not an independent measurement of performance.

Who owns Wiz now?

Google announced an agreement to acquire Wiz in March 2025 for $32 billion in an all-cash transaction, subject to closing adjustments. That amount refers to Google’s later acquisition of Wiz; it is not a valuation of Dazz. Google announced the agreement, and Wiz said Google completed the acquisition on March 11, 2026. Wiz’s completion announcement confirms the change in ownership.
