The 9to5Mac deals roundup published by Justin Kahn on June 27, 2025, featured unusually large discounts on upgraded M4 MacBook Air and iPad Pro configurations, plus Apple Watch Series 10 models. Those prices were temporary U.S. offers, not live August 2026 deals. The M4 MacBook Air has since been superseded by Apple’s M5 generation, announced March 3, 2026 and available from March 11, 2026.
Use the figures below as a historical benchmark. Any remaining M4 inventory should be compared with current M5 pricing and checked for condition, warranty, stock and return terms before purchase.
What the June 27, 2025 roundup included
The original article covered Amazon and Best Buy promotions, including new products, open-box listings and accessory discounts. Its headline offers were:

How notable were the M4 MacBook Air prices?
The MacBook offers targeted upgraded machines rather than the cheapest entry configuration. Saving $200 on 24GB of memory and 1TB of storage was more meaningful than a small discount on a base model, especially for sustained multitasking, software development, virtual machines or large creative projects.
13-inch versus 15-inch
- 13-inch: Easier to carry and suited to travel, school and everyday work.
- 15-inch: More room for split-screen work and timelines, without implying higher processor performance solely because of the larger chassis.
Memory and storage
Sixteen gigabytes is generally sufficient for office, browser and school workloads. The 24GB configurations make more sense when applications remain open for long periods or projects use substantial memory. A 1TB SSD helps with local photo, video and development libraries; cloud-first users may not need it.
Generation and condition matter in 2026
Apple’s M5 MacBook Air announcement made the M4 a previous-generation product. Apple’s comparison page lists both generations, while its identification page documents the 2025 M4 models. An M4 clearance unit is attractive only when its price is meaningfully below an equivalent M5 model and the older platform’s shorter retail runway is acceptable.
The same article series had cited an entry-level 13-inch M4 MacBook Air as low as $812.13 earlier in June 2025. That shows why the $1,399 and $1,599 offers should be judged as upgraded-configuration deals, not absolute lowest prices for every M4 Air.

Open-box inventory can reduce the price further, but inspect the cosmetic grade, included accessories, battery condition, warranty start date and return period. A one-year Apple warranty mentioned for a particular Best Buy listing was a listing-specific condition, not a guarantee for every open-box machine. Why the M4 iPad Pro discount needed context
The $1,719 offer was for an 11-inch M4 iPad Pro with 2TB of storage and nano-texture glass, compared with a cited $2,099 list price. The $380 reduction was substantial in dollars, but the tablet remained a major purchase because the starting configuration was unusually expensive.
Who could justify it
- Users who genuinely need 2TB of local storage.
- Professionals who specifically want the 11-inch Pro form factor and Pro-level display and performance.
- Buyers working in bright or reflective environments where nano-texture glass is useful.
- People committed to iPadOS and Apple Pencil workflows rather than desktop software.
Who should look elsewhere
Most note-takers, streamers, students and general productivity users can spend less on an iPad Air or standard iPad. Apple identifies the iPad Air with M4 as a current family in its March 2026 availability announcement. Buyers who need conventional desktop applications, extensive window management or a traditional file system may be better served by a MacBook.
Nano-texture is not universally superior: it can reduce reflections but has different cleaning requirements and may appeal less to people who prefer the contrast and appearance of standard glossy glass. Also price the likely extras, including Apple Pencil Pro, a keyboard, case, storage and—if applicable—a cellular plan. Apple Watch Series 10: choosing among the historical prices
GPS or GPS + Cellular
GPS models normally rely on a nearby iPhone for calls and data away from Wi-Fi. GPS + Cellular can connect independently, but activation requires a compatible carrier and usually an additional monthly charge. A cellular model still works as a normal Bluetooth/Wi-Fi watch, so the hardware adds little value if the iPhone is almost always present. 42mm or 46mm
The 42mm case is generally easier to wear on smaller wrists. The 46mm version offers a larger reading area but may feel bulky. Try to compare the exact case, band and color because not every combination received the same discount.

Aluminum or titanium
Titanium raises the price mainly through materials, finish and premium positioning. It is worthwhile only when those attributes matter to you; it does not deliver a proportional functional gain for every buyer. Band replacement cost can also change the final total.
Series 10 clearance can be sensible when the warranty and remaining software-support horizon meet your needs. Compare the live price of a newer aluminum GPS model or an SE before treating a nominal $100 saving as a bargain. The historical context was also discussed in 9to5Mac’s June 5 report. Checklist before buying any remaining M4 or Series 10 stock
- Confirm the live checkout price, stock and sales tax; do not rely on an old search snippet.
- Verify the exact model, screen size, memory, storage, case material, band and color.
- Confirm whether the listing is new, open-box, refurbished or sold by a third-party marketplace vendor.
- Read the seller, fulfillment source, warranty start date and return window.
- For cellular watches or iPads, check carrier and regional compatibility and add recurring service costs.
- Check what is included in the box and budget for accessories such as a keyboard, Pencil, case, dock or external storage.
- Compare the total price with the current-generation equivalent, not only with the cited original MSRP.
How to use this roundup in 2026
The June 27, 2025 article is useful as a record of how low retailers were willing to price specific configurations. It is not evidence that Amazon or Best Buy still offer $1,399 MacBook Airs, $1,719 iPad Pros or $299 Apple Watches. Remaining M4 stock should be treated as clearance, and a small discount is usually not enough to compensate for an older generation, limited colors, weaker return terms or uncertain condition.
