Cyera officially announced a $540 million Series E on June 11, 2025, at a $6 billion valuation. Bloomberg had first reported an expected transaction of about $500 million. Georgian, Greenoaks and Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round, joined by existing investors including Accel, Coatue, Cyberstarts, Redpoint, Sapphire Ventures, Sequoia Capital and Spark Capital.
The $6 billion figure was a June 2025 milestone, not Cyera’s latest reported valuation. The company subsequently announced a $400 million Series F at $9 billion in January 2026 and a $600 million Series G at $12 billion in June 2026.
What Cyera actually raised
The financing moved from “reported” to confirmed. Bloomberg’s May 2025 report described a transaction of approximately $500 million at a $6 billion valuation. Cyera’s June 11 announcement identified the final amount as $540 million and the financing as Series E.
Cyera said the round lifted cumulative funding above $1.3 billion. That total is the company’s own disclosure after Series E; funding totals can differ depending on how secondary transactions and other capital are counted.

Bloomberg’s initial account named several of the same firms, but did not establish the final $540 million amount. The confirmed terms are in Cyera’s announcement at Cyera’s Series E release.
Why the headline says the valuation doubled
Cyera said the Series E doubled its valuation in six months. Its preceding disclosed financing was a $300 million Series D at a $3 billion valuation, announced in November 2024, according to the company’s newsroom. Bloomberg instead described the late-2024 valuation as approximately $3.4 billion. Those figures should be treated as attributed estimates rather than silently merged.
“Doubled valuation” means investors bought shares at a price implying a company value about twice the prior financing benchmark. It does not mean that revenue, profit, customer numbers or cash available to ordinary shareholders doubled. A private-company valuation is not immediately liquid, and preferred-stock rights, liquidation preferences and other terms can make the headline figure different from the value of common shares. The public information does not establish whether Cyera’s $6 billion figure was pre-money or post-money.
What Cyera sells
Cyera describes itself as an AI-native data-security company. Its platform is intended to discover and classify sensitive information, map where it resides and show how identities and applications can access it across cloud environments, SaaS applications, databases, AI ecosystems and on-premises systems.
DSPM in plain English
Data security posture management (DSPM) gives security teams an inventory of sensitive data, its locations, access paths and exposure or misconfiguration risks. That visibility is a prerequisite for deciding which permissions to remove, which systems to monitor and which data may safely be used by applications or AI tools.
Cyera’s core business is data security, not an AI model company. AI security is an expanding use case: generative and agentic systems can move sensitive data through models, copilots, pipelines and automated workflows, increasing the need for discovery, classification, access governance and monitoring.

Why investors saw an AI-security opportunity
Enterprises have been deploying generative and agentic AI faster than many governance processes have matured. Data is spread across more stores and connected to more identities and software, making it harder to answer basic questions about what an AI system can reach and whether that access is appropriate.
Contemporary coverage in The Wall Street Journal connected Cyera’s growth with agentic AI and the need to inventory enterprise data. That is an investment thesis, not proof that AI alone caused the valuation increase.

What growth evidence did Cyera provide?
Cyera said it doubled its customer base in the six months before the Series E announcement and expanded coverage across cloud, SaaS, databases, AI ecosystems and on-premises environments. These are company-provided claims, not independently audited operating metrics. The release does not establish revenue, retention, margins, profitability or customer concentration.
Questions investors and buyers should still ask
- Competition: DSPM overlaps with data-governance, cloud-security, identity and AI-governance products. Large security platforms may add comparable capabilities.
- Integration: Buyers should test coverage across cloud, SaaS, databases, on-premises and AI systems, plus integrations with SIEM, SOAR, identity, DLP and governance tools.
- Execution: A rapidly rising valuation increases pressure to sustain enterprise growth while controlling sales cycles, deployment effort and operating costs.
- Existing tools: An organization may prefer capabilities already bundled with its cloud, identity or security-information provider rather than add a specialist platform.
Where the $6 billion headline stands now
As of June 2026, Cyera had publicly announced a $12 billion valuation, following the $9 billion Series F. The original $6 billion headline remains accurate for the confirmed June 11, 2025 Series E, but it should not be presented as Cyera’s current valuation.
Quick Recap
How to evaluate a data-security platform
- Accuracy and breadth of sensitive-data discovery and classification.
- Visibility into identities, permissions and application access.
- Prioritization of exploitable or business-critical exposures.
- Deployment speed, data-access requirements and residency controls.
- Regulatory, privacy and governance support.
- Pricing transparency, contract minimums and professional-services demands.
- Whether a specialist platform adds value beyond tools already owned.
