Cybereason announced $275 million in crossover financing on July 14, 2021. Liberty Strategic Capital led the round and said it would invest $200 million; Cybereason named Irving Investors, certain funds advised by Neuberger Berman Investment Advisers LLC, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2 as additional backers. The announcement described a historical financing, not a current investment offer.

Who invested in Cybereason’s $275 million financing?

Cybereason’s July 14, 2021 announcement identified Liberty Strategic Capital as the lead investor. It named Irving Investors, certain funds advised by Neuberger Berman Investment Advisers LLC, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2 as additional participants. Cybereason’s announcement and Liberty Strategic Capital’s announcement are the primary accounts of the round.

How much did Liberty Strategic Capital invest?

Liberty said it would invest $200 million in the $275 million round. That is Liberty’s stated contribution, not a breakdown of every investor’s share. Cybereason’s release said the company had received $389 million in funding before this round, from SoftBank Group, CRV, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin.

What did Cybereason say it would use the money for?

Cybereason said the proceeds would support growth of its AI-powered Cybereason Defense Platform amid what the company described as strong market demand. The announcement did not disclose a detailed allocation of the $275 million, so it does not establish how much would go to product development, hiring, sales, or other expenses.

The same release reported Cybereason’s account of its results in MITRE Engenuity ATT&CK Evaluations: the company said it achieved 100% coverage for prevention of Windows- and Linux-based threats. That statement is limited to the company’s description of those evaluation results; it is not evidence of 100% protection against cyberattacks generally.

How does the 2021 round fit with Cybereason’s later financing?

Cybereason subsequently announced additional financing. These announcements refer to separate events and should not be added together as though they were one round.

What does the $275 million financing mean for Cybereason?

The round established a large 2021 financing event led by Liberty Strategic Capital, alongside several named investors. It also marked one point in a longer funding history: Cybereason later announced separate rounds in 2023 and 2025. Funding announcements show that capital was raised or committed as described by the announcing parties; they do not, by themselves, establish a company’s valuation, financial condition, or investment returns.

For the latest corporate transaction context in the cited announcements, Cybereason said on October 14, 2025 that LevelBlue had signed a definitive agreement to acquire it. The announcement establishes that an agreement was signed; it does not establish that the acquisition closed. See Cybereason’s announcement.
