Comcast NOW Mobile costs $25 per line per month, including taxes and fees, and includes unlimited talk, text and cellular data. But “unlimited” does not mean unlimited full-speed service: Comcast reduces speeds after 20GB per line each billing cycle, and traffic may slow during congestion. The plan also requires qualifying Xfinity or NOW Internet service, charges a $25 one-time setup fee per line, and excludes hotspot from the base price.
This is a strong low-cost option for an eligible Comcast customer with moderate data needs—not a universally available replacement for every prepaid plan.
What is NOW Mobile?
NOW Mobile is Comcast’s prepaid, month-to-month wireless service. There is no annual contract and no credit check. Customers can pause and resume service, use a compatible phone they already own, or purchase a device outright. Up to five lines are supported.
Comcast sells the service online and requires credit, debit or prepaid-card payment, autopay and paperless billing. Pricing can change. Comcast introduced NOW Mobile in April 2024 and expanded the NOW portfolio in May 2024, so the current 2026 offer is a current pricing and feature update—not a new 2026 launch.

What does NOW Mobile cost?
The advertised service price is $25 per line per month, with taxes and fees included. Comcast’s FAQ and plan disclosures also list a one-time $25 setup fee per line. The following examples show service plus the known setup charge; they exclude a phone purchase and optional features.

“Taxes and fees included” therefore does not mean there are no upfront charges. A hotspot, Mexico/Canada pass, phone purchase or other non-service charge can increase the bill.
Is the data really unlimited?
Yes, in the limited sense that data access continues after the high-speed allowance. No, if you mean unlimited full-speed or consistently prioritized data.

- Comcast says speeds are reduced after 20GB per line per billing cycle.
- The public plan pages do not state a specific post-threshold speed, so no Mbps figure should be assumed.
- Traffic may also be temporarily slower than other traffic during network congestion.
Those are two separate forms of management: a usage-based slowdown after 20GB and temporary congestion management. Comcast’s published material does not establish NOW Mobile as a premium-priority unlimited plan.
What is included?
- Unlimited domestic talk and text.
- Unlimited cellular data, subject to the 20GB slowdown rule.
- Nationwide 5G access where the device and coverage support it.
- Access to millions of Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots. Comcast cited more than 23 million at the 2024 launch; the current shopping page uses “millions.”
- Taxes and fees in the advertised service price.
- No annual contract and no credit check.
Hotspot availability depends on location, authentication and whether a usable Xfinity hotspot is nearby. Comcast’s public NOW pages describe nationwide 5G and the Xfinity network but do not clearly identify an underlying wholesale carrier or a specific priority tier.
The biggest catch: eligibility
NOW Mobile is not an open-to-everyone prepaid plan. You generally need an address in Comcast’s service footprint and active qualifying Xfinity postpaid Internet or NOW Internet service.
That requirement changes the economics. An existing qualifying Internet customer may view the wireless line as a straightforward $25 add-on. Someone who would subscribe to Comcast Internet solely to obtain mobile service should include that broadband bill in the household cost. Do not assume the mobile line remains eligible if you cancel qualifying Internet; confirm the current terms with Comcast first.

Hotspot is extra—and slow
Personal hotspot is not included in the $25 base plan. The optional add-on costs $5 per line per month and provides unlimited hotspot data at 3G speeds.
That can cover messaging, navigation, basic browsing and occasional low-bandwidth use. It is not a practical substitute for home broadband, fast laptop work or unrestricted video streaming. Phone data remains subject to the separate 20GB slowdown rule.
International service is limited
The base plan does not appear to include broad international roaming. For $5 per line per month, the Mexico and Canada Unlimited Pass provides:
- Unlimited calls and texts to and from Mexico and Canada.
- International data roaming in Mexico and Canada.
- 5GB of prioritized roaming data in those countries, after which speeds are slower until renewal.
The add-on is not prorated: adding it costs the full $5 regardless of when it is added during the billing cycle. Removing it leaves the feature active until the next billing cycle. Other international and roaming charges may apply, and Comcast’s FAQ says there are currently no other NOW Mobile international plans.

Phones, BYOD and switching
You can bring your own compatible phone or buy a NOW Mobile device. Comcast’s terms require purchased devices to be paid for in full. Check compatibility before starting a number transfer, and keep your existing carrier active until the new line is activated and the port is complete.
- Use Comcast’s compatibility and coverage tools for your phone and your home, work and travel locations.
- Confirm the $25 setup fee and any add-ons before ordering.
- Have your current carrier account number, transfer PIN and billing details ready if porting a number.
- Activate NOW Mobile and test calls, texts and data.
- Only then cancel the old service.

Who should get NOW Mobile?
It is a good fit for
- Existing Xfinity or NOW Internet customers.
- Light-to-moderate data users who rarely exceed 20GB monthly.
- People who want prepaid service, no credit check and taxes-and-fees-included billing.
- Customers who mostly use Wi-Fi and do not need fast hotspot service.
- People prioritizing a low recurring wireless bill over extensive roaming or premium data treatment.
Look elsewhere if you
- Regularly use more than 20GB of cellular data.
- Need fast hotspot for a laptop or home-internet substitute.
- Travel beyond Mexico and Canada and need included roaming.
- Do not already have qualifying Comcast Internet.
- Require clearly documented priority data.
- Want wireless service independent of a broadband provider.
Verdict
NOW Mobile is genuinely inexpensive: $25 per line monthly with taxes and fees included, unlimited talk, text and continuing data, no contract and no credit check. Its value is strongest for an eligible Comcast Internet customer with moderate data use.
It is not unrestricted unlimited service. The 20GB slowdown, possible congestion management, separate $5 3G hotspot, limited international option, $25 setup fee and Internet eligibility requirement materially narrow the deal. Visible is the simpler independent $25 alternative, Mint can offer a lower promotional effective price when prepaid, and US Mobile offers more network and international flexibility.
