Is the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme application still open?
No current application window is confirmed by the official information available here. As of October 8, 2026, the latest deadline located in reporting—April 20, 2026—has passed. Students should not assume that applications remain open or that another extension has been announced.

Where to check for a new phase or reopening
The Government of Punjab identifies https://cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk/ as the online application portal. Treat it as the place to check for a newly announced phase, reopened applications, or updated eligibility—not as proof that submissions are currently being accepted. The Higher Education Department also lists the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme (2025) in its student guide.
Who was eligible? Rules depend on the round
The Punjab Portal’s 2025 overview gives criteria for that program page. They should not automatically be applied to Phase II or to a future round.

Criteria listed on the 2025 overview
- Punjab domicile.
- First- or second-semester BS enrollment at a public university or college, or first professional study at a public medical or dental college or university for academic session 2024.
- At least 65% in Intermediate for the listed public university or college students, or 80% for the listed public medical or dental students.
- No previous laptop-scheme award.
Phase II categories were not identical
The Phase II portal snapshot included public or selected private-sector BS enrollment, medical and dental students, and public nursing categories. Virtual University’s notice specifically addressed Punjab-domicile students in the first or second semester of a four-year BS program at that university. These sources do not establish a single combined set of criteria applicable to every Phase II applicant. For a future round, use the rules published for that round on the official portal.
What laptop does the program describe?
The Punjab Portal and Higher Education Department describe the devices as Core i7, 13th-generation laptops; the portal also mentions SSD storage and high-speed RAM. The cited official descriptions do not name a brand or model, and the portal excerpt does not specify RAM capacity, screen size, software, or warranty. The program overview states a plan to distribute over 110,000 laptops; that is a target, not a verified count already distributed.

What the scheme announcement does—and does not—promise
A February 6, 2025 Punjab Portal report attributes the statement “Honhaar Scholarship and Laptop schemes are the right of every child and responsibility of the government” to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The report also attributes to her: “Education and youth development are the real investments for the uplift of a nation and I want to see every child getting a laptop.” These statements express the government’s position; they do not guarantee selection or establish that every applicant is entitled to receive a device.
