Choose Textmagic if you need an all-in-one workspace for SMS, email campaigns, shared conversations, social channels and team support. Choose ClickSend if your priority is SMS/MMS delivery, API integrations and prepaid, usage-based messaging. Neither is universally cheaper: your total depends on destination, message parts, MMS, phone numbers, registration and volume discounts.

Pricing: compare a real scenario, not a headline rate
Textmagic’s published U.S. reference prices
Textmagic lists standard outbound U.S. SMS at $0.049 per message part. A plain-text part is up to 160 characters; a Unicode part is up to 70 characters. Longer messages are billed as multiple parts. At that listed rate, 1,000 one-part outbound SMS messages cost approximately $49 before number or other service charges.
The same pricing material lists a U.S. texting number at $10 per month (with the first month shown as free in the current interface), MMS at $0.08 per message, outbound email at $0.006 per email, and email and carrier lookups at $0.04 each. Voice forwarding and outbound voice are listed at $0.041 per minute, with inbound voice at $0.023 per minute. Check the live page before buying because prices and included allowances can change: Textmagic pricing.
ClickSend’s prepaid tiers
ClickSend’s U.S. pricing page presents a dynamic calculator rather than one universal SMS rate. It shows prepaid top-up thresholds of $20, $500, $3,000 and $10,000, with displayed savings of 0%, 7%, 14% and 21%, respectively. The actual unit price depends on destination, volume, message type and account settings. Calculate the same 1,000 one-part U.S. SMS scenario at ClickSend’s U.S. calculator before making a cost claim.
BYOC changes the arithmetic
Textmagic lists a BYOC platform charge of $0.01 per outbound SMS when you connect a provider such as Twilio, Vonage, Sinch or Bandwidth. The carrier’s own messaging, number and registration fees still apply, so $0.01 is not an all-in delivered price. Details are described at Textmagic’s product information.
Costs that commonly invalidate “cheapest” comparisons
- Unicode characters and emojis reduce the characters in each billable part.
- MMS has a different price from SMS and may be charged per message regardless of length.
- Dedicated local or toll-free numbers add recurring charges.
- U.S. 10DLC registration and toll-free verification can affect setup, approval and cost.
- Inbound, outbound, international and carrier fees may differ.
- ClickSend’s discount depends on the prepaid tier; Textmagic’s plans and credit bundles can change the effective rate.
SMS and MMS capabilities
Both platforms support bulk or campaign messaging, two-way texting, scheduling, templates, delivery reporting and opt-out handling. ClickSend’s U.S. materials focus particularly on transactional SMS, SMS/MMS campaigns and API delivery. Its help documentation says inbound SMS is free on the U.S. pricing page and that U.S. and Canadian sending or receiving requires a dedicated number. See the SMS collection at ClickSend’s SMS help center.
Rank #2
Textmagic publicly lists outbound and inbound SMS, MMS, dedicated and toll-free numbers, and market-dependent alphanumeric sender IDs. Its clearer published message-part rules make budgeting easier, but a long or Unicode-heavy campaign can cost more than a simple per-text estimate.

Textmagic is the clearer all-in-one option
Textmagic’s documented channels include SMS, email campaigns and replies, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, a website widget, live chat, voice and call forwarding. Its support documentation lists those channels at Textmagic’s channel guide. The platform says WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram messaging is currently free within Textmagic, although external channel rules, eligibility and provider policies still apply: social-channel billing details.
Qualify ClickSend’s email offering
ClickSend’s broader help material mentions email, fax, voice and post in addition to SMS/MMS. However, its current U.S. pricing page says email pricing is still being worked on, and text-to-speech voice is unavailable to new customers. Therefore, verify the exact U.S. product and account eligibility rather than assuming every historically listed channel is available to a new account.

APIs, integrations and developer fit
ClickSend is a natural candidate when your application needs a messaging gateway for alerts, reminders, verification or campaign sends. Its U.S. site links to API documentation and emphasizes transactional messaging at scale, integrations and worldwide delivery: ClickSend U.S.
Textmagic combines an SMS and email REST API with an operational interface. Its product information lists Email-to-SMS, Shopify and Zapier integrations, and BYOC connections for Twilio, Vonage, Sinch and Bandwidth: Textmagic API and integration information. A developer who wants only transport may prefer a lower-level CPaaS; a support or operations team may value the workspace, conversation history and agent controls.

Textmagic’s current product and pricing material lists a shared inbox, unlimited users, SSO, contact records, conversation history, notes, assignments, email helpdesk tickets, live chats, tasks and sales pipelines. Those features suit teams that must hand conversations between agents and retain context.

- Create a mix using audio, music and voice tracks and recordings.
- Customize your tracks with amazing effects and helpful editing tools.
- Use tools like the Beat Maker and Midi Creator.
- Work efficiently by using Bookmarks and tools like Effect Chain, which allow you to apply multiple effects at a time
- Use one of the many other NCH multimedia applications that are integrated with MixPad.
ClickSend’s published U.S. material establishes dashboard, campaign, integration and API capabilities more clearly than a comparable collaboration model. It may be sufficient for notification and campaign management, but confirm the exact user, assignment and shared-inbox functions your team requires before migrating support work.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Compliance and deliverability
Obtain consent before marketing messages, identify the sender and process opt-outs promptly. U.S. local-number traffic may require 10DLC registration; toll-free traffic may require verification. Textmagic says its platform includes consent and opt-out tools, 10DLC and toll-free verification, GDPR compliance and SOC 2 Type II certification. Those platform capabilities do not transfer responsibility for lawful list collection, message content or data handling to the vendor.
Carrier filtering, prohibited-content rules, country restrictions and sender registration can affect delivery. A number approved in one market may not work the same way elsewhere. Confirm requirements for every destination and sender type before launching.

Which platform fits each use case?
Choose ClickSend for API-led SMS/MMS
- SMS or MMS is your main channel.
- You send transactional alerts, reminders or notifications from software.
- You prefer prepaid usage with no emphasized recurring subscription.
- Higher volume may justify ClickSend’s displayed tiered discounts.
- You also need available communications products such as fax or post.
Choose Textmagic for campaigns plus conversations
- Marketing needs SMS and email campaigns together.
- Agents need a shared inbox, assignments, notes and history.
- WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or live chat matter.
- Nontechnical staff will manage replies and contacts.
- SSO, tasks, sales pipelines or helpdesk tickets are useful.
- You want a BYOC option for an existing CPaaS account.
For international messaging
Do not infer worldwide equivalence from either vendor’s global marketing. Country coverage, sender IDs, registration, carrier rules and rates vary by destination. Price a sample basket of the countries and message types you actually send.
How to make a defensible buying decision
- List monthly outbound and inbound volume by country.
- Separate SMS, MMS, email and social messages.
- Measure typical message length and count Unicode or emoji usage.
- Choose local, toll-free, short-code or existing numbers and identify registration needs.
- Run the identical scenario through ClickSend’s live calculator and Textmagic’s current pricing page.
- Add number rental, registration, carrier, lookup, BYOC and provider charges.
- Test replies, opt-outs, delivery receipts, webhooks and agent workflows during each trial.
- Recheck pricing and channel availability immediately before signing a contract.
Bottom line
Textmagic is the better fit for a small or midsize team buying a communications workspace, while ClickSend is the better fit for an organization buying prepaid SMS/MMS infrastructure and API delivery. Treat the $49 Textmagic example as a U.S. one-part reference, not a universal quote, and do not call ClickSend cheaper until its calculator is set to the same country, volume, message length, message type and number requirements.
