Click Maint is the stronger value for teams seeking a broad set of conventional CMMS features in one paid plan; MaintainX is the stronger fit when free entry, advanced procedures, meter-based maintenance, analytics, integrations, or enterprise controls matter more. Both handle core maintenance work, including requests, work orders, preventive maintenance, assets, mobile access, and maintenance history. The decision often comes down to how many people need paid accounts and which features are included at the plan level you would actually buy. Prices and plan details below were checked August 18, 2026.
Click Maint and MaintainX at a glance
Both are cloud-based computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for organizing maintenance requests, work orders, preventive maintenance (PM), assets, technicians, and maintenance records. Click Maint presents a single Professional plan with a wide conventional CMMS feature set. MaintainX has a free tier and paid tiers that add progressively more advanced procedures, analytics, inventory, integrations, and administrative controls. See Click Maint’s product overview and MaintainX’s plan matrix.

How much do Click Maint and MaintainX cost?
Click Maint lists Professional at $35 per user per month, with monthly or annual subscriptions; the pricing page says annual terms receive a discount but does not show the discounted rate in its page text. Its 30-day trial requires no credit card. Migration or implementation services may carry additional fees. MaintainX lists Basic at no charge, Essential at $20 per user/month with annual billing or $25 with monthly billing, Premium at $65 annually billed or $75 monthly billed, and custom Enterprise pricing. Requesters are free on both products. Prices may vary with taxes, geography, negotiated discounts, services, and the vendor’s definition of paid users. The following are simple annualized calculations from the public per-user rates, not vendor quotes. They assume the same number of paid users for all 12 months and exclude taxes, implementation, negotiated discounts, and optional services. MaintainX annual-billing figures are annual equivalents at the published monthly rate, not a claim about invoice timing.

Count paid users, not everyone in the building
Budget against people who log in to manage or perform maintenance, such as technicians, supervisors, planners, and administrators. Keep employees who only submit requests in a separate count. Click Maint explicitly excludes request-only users from paid users; MaintainX says requester accounts are free. Ask each vendor how occasional users, contractors, read-only accounts, and shared devices are treated before finalizing a quote.
Compare the tier that has the features you need
Entry prices can mislead. MaintainX Essential is below Click Maint’s listed Professional rate in the examples above, but the current MaintainX plan matrix places parts inventory, purchase orders, meter-based maintenance, time and cost tracking, and open REST API access in Premium. Those needs can therefore change the cost comparison substantially. Click Maint lists a broad set of conventional CMMS functions, including inventory and API access, in Professional. If your requirements extend to sophisticated enterprise governance, condition-based programs, or advanced purchasing, compare the actual required MaintainX tier and obtain written confirmation from Click Maint for any capability not clearly specified on its public page.
Work orders: ticket tracking or controlled execution?
Neither product has a universal work-order advantage. For straightforward reactive tickets and scheduled maintenance, compare assignment, priority, due dates, status, attachments, comments, and request conversion. The more consequential distinction is how much process control your work requires.
Click Maint’s mobile workflow can create reactive or preventive work orders, attach files, assign technicians, set priority, associate assets, locations, or vendors, and add checklists. See its mobile work-order instructions and request and approval explanation. MaintainX’s plan matrix lists features such as templates, attached images, procedures, approvals, offline mode, exports, multi-asset work orders, external work orders, and time and cost tracking, with availability depending on plan. If contractor work, offline completion, labor costing, or approvals are essential, verify the exact tier and workflow rather than treating “work orders” as a yes/no feature.

Preventive maintenance: scheduled, meter-based, or condition-based?
Click Maint supports hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and annual scheduling, as well as persistent and floating PM triggers. That makes it a plausible fit for conventional time-based programs. The vendor’s mobile work-order documentation describes the PM workflow; its pricing page lists the scheduling options.
MaintainX Basic limits repeating work orders, while Premium lists meter-based maintenance. Enterprise adds condition-based maintenance, automated corrective actions, maintenance plans, escalation protocols, and custom workflow automations, according to its plan matrix. If a task is triggered by runtime, cycles, readings, or asset condition rather than a calendar, confirm the triggering logic, required tier, alerts, and reporting during evaluation.
Procedures, inspections, and checklists
Click Maint supports procedure templates created on desktop and attached to reactive or preventive work orders for technicians to view, edit, and complete on mobile. Its mobile procedures guide documents this workflow.
MaintainX’s plan matrix lists procedure signature capture, inspection checks, conditional-logic fields, global procedures, scoring, and work orders with attached procedures, with access varying by tier. This distinction matters when work must produce standardized evidence, enforce branching instructions, or score inspections. For ordinary task checklists, either product may suit; for formal inspections or procedural controls, test the exact paid plan and the technician’s completion flow.
Asset and location management
Click Maint lists parent-child asset hierarchies, downtime tracking, maintenance history, cost insights, serial and model details, manuals, QR codes, warranty tracking, and asset-linked work orders. MaintainX lists asset hierarchies, downtime and status monitoring, global assets, root-cause analysis, straight-line depreciation, meters, and meter-based analytics, with availability varying by tier. The relevant comparison is not a general “better asset management” claim: it is whether your team needs conventional equipment records and history or the additional meter, analytics, governance, or cross-site capabilities identified in the plan matrix. Parts, inventory, vendors, and purchasing
Click Maint lists stock and non-stock parts, restocking, stock-level indicators, units of measure, lead times, preferred vendors, minimum and maximum quantities, asset/work-order associations, low-stock alerts, storeroom management, QR codes, and vendor costs and ratings in Professional. MaintainX lists parts inventory, vendors, part statuses and availability, purchase orders, low-stock alerts, and time/cost tracking in Premium. Enterprise adds controls including purchase-order approval workflows, cycle counting, multi-location and global parts, and custom fields. See the respective Click Maint and MaintainX feature matrices.
Click Maint may be the less expensive route when a team needs conventional inventory alongside core maintenance without moving to a higher MaintainX tier. MaintainX may be a better match when purchasing approvals, multi-location parts, or broader inventory governance justify the higher tier. Compare the actual process from low-stock alert through requisition, approval, receiving, and work-order use.
Mobile workflows and field adoption
Click Maint’s mobile navigation lists work orders, PMs, assets, requests, QR codes, and account settings; its app also supports parts, images/files, and push notifications. See the mobile navigation overview. MaintainX’s public plan matrix identifies capabilities including offline mode, images, procedures, and time/cost features by tier. These listings do not establish which app technicians will find easier or faster in your environment.
Use a pilot with real devices, assets, and connectivity, and have technicians complete these tasks without a guided sales demo:
- Create a request from the work area and route it for approval if needed.
- Scan an asset QR code and confirm the correct equipment record opens.
- Open an assigned work order, review its instructions, and add a photo or video.
- Complete the relevant checklist or procedure, including a signature or inspection field if required.
- Record labor and parts, then test the workflow with weak or absent connectivity.
- Find historical asset records, close the job, and check that its history, costs, and inventory reflect the completed work.
Reporting and analytics
Click Maint lists a KPI dashboard, standard maintenance reports, history and cost data, asset downtime and costs, inventory usage, MTTR, MTBF, cost breakdowns, on-time completion, reactive-versus-preventive work, an audit log, and data export. MaintainX distinguishes basic, standard, and advanced analytics; Premium lists unlimited access to Advanced Analytics, while Enterprise adds Report Builder, asset-health insights, global reporting, and broader custom dashboards. See the Click Maint and MaintainX plan details.

Ask the vendor to demonstrate the reports your operation will use, not just show a dashboard. In particular, check whether you can answer these questions at the asset, site, and time-period level you need:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- What share of completed work was preventive?
- Which assets or locations account for the most downtime and maintenance cost?
- What is MTTR by asset or location, and are the underlying definitions clear?
- Are PMs completed on time, and which are overdue?
- Which parts or vendors are causing delays?
- Can you identify overloaded technicians or contractors?
- Can the data be exported in a usable format for finance, operations, or external analysis?
Integrations and API access
Click Maint lists API access in Professional. MaintainX lists open REST API access in Premium and above and describes integration paths including Zapier, direct API integration, MaintainX integration services, and systems integrators. Its integration overview is at MaintainX integrations, and its API documentation is linked at maintainx.dev.
An API listing does not establish that either product supports your specific integration. Before committing, have the technical owners verify endpoints and read/write coverage for required objects, webhooks, rate limits, authentication, bulk transfer, error handling, documentation, and plan restrictions. Confirm whether implementation assistance is included or separately priced. For ERP, BI, fleet, or IoT connections, test the actual data flow and failure handling rather than relying on a general integrations list.
Multi-site administration, security, and support
MaintainX Enterprise explicitly lists multi-site management, SSO, custom permissions, IoT integrations, global reporting, resource planning, and a guaranteed 99.9% uptime SLA. Click Maint lists multiple entities, role-based access, support, account management, an uptime SLA, and implementation services, but its public pricing page does not provide the same detailed enterprise-control matrix. That is not proof that a Click Maint capability is absent; it means buyers should ask for written confirmation of SSO, permission granularity, multi-site administration, security, audit, uptime, data retention, and support commitments against their requirements. Which product fits different maintenance teams?
Small facilities team with predictable schedules
Click Maint is a strong candidate if the team wants requests, work orders, scheduled PM, asset records, parts, and reports in one publicly priced plan. MaintainX Essential may cost less for the listed five-, ten-, and twenty-user examples if its capabilities cover the team’s actual needs; compare required features before choosing on price alone.

Small manufacturer with procedures and inspections
Compare the required procedure depth. Click Maint supports mobile procedures and checklists. MaintainX is the better fit to investigate when signatures, scored inspections, conditional logic, or more standardized procedure workflows are necessary, subject to the tier that includes them.
Inventory-heavy maintenance department
Click Maint’s Professional plan includes a broad set of listed stock, vendor, and storeroom functions. Consider MaintainX Premium or Enterprise when purchase-order controls, cycle counting, or multi-location/global parts management are operational requirements.
Team with meter- or condition-driven maintenance
MaintainX Premium lists meter-based PM; Enterprise lists condition-based maintenance and related automation. Click Maint lists conventional scheduled PM. Confirm any required sensor, trigger, corrective-action, and reporting behavior before selection.
Organization with multiple sites or enterprise controls
MaintainX Enterprise publishes the clearest set of multi-site, SSO, custom-permission, resource-planning, IoT, and global-reporting signals. Click Maint lists multiple entities and role-based access, but its public page is less explicit about advanced governance; validate requirements directly rather than inferring absence.

Team with many requesters and few maintenance users
Both products can make requester volume economical because request-only accounts are free or unlimited as described by each vendor. Model the paid account count using staff who perform or administer maintenance, not total employee headcount.
Organization replacing spreadsheets
Either platform may provide a structured home for requests, assets, and maintenance records. Prioritize clean asset data, usable PM intervals, role setup, and a pilot that proves technicians will record work against the right equipment. A low sticker price will not compensate for poor data or weak adoption.
Migration, adoption, and cost checks before signing
Migration quality and technician habits can determine whether the CMMS delivers value. Click Maint says migration or professional services may incur fees and describes Excel exports and a cancellation data-extraction process. MaintainX says its average implementation takes three weeks for one site; this is a vendor estimate, not a guaranteed schedule. Confirm scope, responsibilities, and fees with each vendor. See Click Maint pricing and MaintainX pricing.
- Paid app users, free requesters, occasional users, vendors, and read-only access.
- Monthly versus annual billing, renewal terms, taxes, discounts, and the exact paid plan.
- Migration of asset hierarchy, work history, PM intervals, parts, vendors, manuals, attachments, and QR-code mappings.
- Data cleanup for duplicate parts, inconsistent asset names, and incomplete records.
- Training, implementation scope, project ownership, and time needed from maintenance staff.
- API or integration work, including plan requirements and any services fees.
- Mobile device support, weak-connectivity behavior, and functions that require desktop access.
- Required reports, export formats, data-retention terms, and a usable exit/export process.
- SSO, permissions, security, uptime, and support commitments for any multi-site deployment.
Review scores can offer context but should not decide a purchase. Software Advice’s June 28, 2026 comparison displayed 4.8 for both products, with 122 Click Maint reviews and 1,047 MaintainX reviews at the time of its update; its comparison page is a dated snapshot. G2 displays different ratings and review counts, illustrating that ratings depend on the platform and its review pool (G2 comparison). Neither is an objective measure of fit for a particular operation.
