What is Citi’s Bitcoin price prediction for 2027? According to an October 2, 2026, Forbes Europe report describing a Citi note seen by Reuters, Citi analysts raised their Bitcoin target to $113,000 over the next 12 months, from $82,000. That is a rolling forecast horizon—not a target for a specified date in 2027—and it is an analyst prediction, not a promise of future performance. Forbes Europe’s report is the source for the figures below; the underlying Citi note was not available for independent review.

What Citi reportedly changed

The reported target rose by $31,000, from $82,000 to $113,000. The report describes the new target as applying over the next 12 months. Because that period rolls forward from the report date, it should not be restated as a price target for a particular day or quarter in calendar 2027.

Reported item Figure What it means
Previous Citi target $82,000 Earlier target cited in Forbes Europe’s October 2, 2026 report of the Citi note.
Revised Citi target $113,000 Reported target over the next 12 months, not a guaranteed price or a precisely dated 2027 forecast.
Expected Bitcoin ETF flows $5 billion Citi’s reported estimate for flows through advisers and brokerages; it is not a record of realized or committed inflows.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF assets About $110 billion An approximate point-in-time figure reported by Forbes Europe on October 2, 2026, not a current live total.

All figures in the table are attributed to the Forbes Europe account of the Citi note or the article’s reported market context. The note’s authors, assumptions, methodology, and precise forecast endpoint were not available to verify.

Why ETF allocations matter to the forecast

The report says Citi expected $5 billion to flow into Bitcoin ETFs through advisers and brokerages. The thesis is that allocations made through those channels could add demand for Bitcoin exposure. But a forecast of flows is not evidence that the money has arrived: the report does not establish the timing, pace, or certainty of those allocations.

The same article put U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF assets at about $110 billion at that time. That provides scale for the market context, but it does not establish how much of the assets came from advisers or brokerages, or whether the reported $5 billion expectation was subsequently met.

What could challenge the bullish call

Bitcoin’s near-term direction may also be affected by economic data and expectations for Federal Reserve policy. In emailed comments quoted by Forbes Europe, FxPro chief market analyst Alex Kuptsikevich said: “The release of US labour market statistics could, in theory, either accelerate the rally or reverse the trend.”

Kuptsikevich added: “If the report is very strong, markets may once again price in a Fed rate rise in October, reducing demand for risk assets. And bitcoin may prove to be quite sensitive to this.” This is his conditional market view, not an official Federal Reserve statement or proof that a particular labor report will move Bitcoin in a specific direction.

How to read the prediction

A bank price target is an estimate tied to assumptions, not a floor, ceiling, or assurance of returns. Here, the available account attributes the $113,000 target and ETF-flow estimate to a Citi note that Reuters had seen, but the note itself was not available for review. The report does not provide enough information to assess the analysts’ model or the scenarios behind the forecast.

For personal financial decisions, distinguish the reported target from observed market prices and actual ETF flows, and consider that macroeconomic developments could move markets either way. Nothing in the reported forecast establishes that Bitcoin will reach $113,000.
