In an October 3, 2026 article, ChatGPT was reported as giving Bitcoin the highest chance of reaching $113,000 by October 2027: 68%, compared with Claude’s 46% and Grok’s 38%. Those are outputs attributed to the models by that article, not independently verified odds. Citi’s separate forecast is a 12-month target, not a prediction specifically for October 2027.
What Citi’s $113,000 Bitcoin target means
Reuters reported on October 1, 2026, that Citigroup raised its 12-month Bitcoin target from $82,000 to $113,000. Reuters also reported a raised 12-month Ether target, but that is separate from the Bitcoin forecast discussed here. Reuters’ report summarizes a Citi note rather than reproducing the full note.
Citi reportedly cited stronger crypto activity, a supportive macroeconomic backdrop and resumed exchange-traded fund (ETF) inflows. It expected $5 billion in inflows over the following 12 months as advisers and brokerages gradually increased Bitcoin allocations. That is Citi’s reported inflow forecast—not a guarantee that the money will arrive, nor a stated threshold that mechanically produces a particular Bitcoin price.
How the three reported model forecasts compare
The October 3, 2026 article from 24/7 Wall St. attributes the following probabilities and price paths to ChatGPT, Claude and Grok. The comparison horizon is October 2027.

| Model | Reported chance of reaching $113,000 by October 2027 | Reported $100,000 milestone | Reported $113,000 milestone | Reported downside scenario by October 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | 68% | November 2026 | January 2027 | About $72,000 |
| Claude | 46% | March 2027 | August 2027 | About $78,000 |
| Grok | 38% | December 2026 | March 2027 | About $67,500 |
These figures are the article’s account of the models’ outputs, not published market statistics or independently validated forecasts. The complete prompts and transcripts were unavailable, and the article does not establish that the models used equivalent tools, current market data, prompting or probability calibration. The dates and downside figures should therefore be read as attributed scenarios, not verified predictions, price floors or guarantees. Read the 24/7 Wall St. article.
Why the probabilities disagree
The reported outputs do not amount to a three-model consensus: the difference between ChatGPT’s 68% and Grok’s 38% is 30 percentage points. A percentage from a language model is only as useful as the method behind it. Without comparable prompts, inputs and a calibration record showing how often similar probabilities came true, the numbers cannot be treated as measured odds of Bitcoin reaching the target.

The article describes restrictive Federal Reserve policy as a shared risk. Interest rates and broader macroeconomic conditions can change, as can ETF flows and regulatory developments; none guarantees a specific price movement. Reuters also reports Citi’s view that failure to advance the Clarity Act narrowed the path to a market-structure bill, while SEC rule announcements dampened negative sentiment. That is an attributed assessment from Citi, relayed by Reuters—not evidence that regulation is settled or that those developments directly determine Bitcoin’s price.
Keep Citi’s inflow forecast separate from the models’ estimate
Citi’s reported expectation was $5 billion in inflows over the next 12 months. The 24/7 Wall St. article says the models viewed that as insufficient and estimated that $10 billion to $15 billion might be needed to support a move to $113,000. The larger range is the article’s account of model analysis; it is not Citi guidance or a separately sourced estimate. The figures should not be combined into a single forecast.

What to take from the target
“Will Bitcoin hit $113,000 before October 2027?” is a reasonable way to frame the comparison, but the available reporting does not answer it with dependable probabilities. Citi’s 12-month target gives a bank’s price objective and stated rationale; the three model percentages and paths are reported outputs whose methods cannot be checked from the available transcripts. Treat each as a forecast claim with uncertainty, not as a basis for assuming the target will—or will not—be reached.
