CCBill.com $39.95 Recurring Charge: What It Means and How to Stop It

A CCBILL.com statement entry usually points to a payment processor, not the website itself. Find the subscription, cancel future billing, and dispute unauthorized charges through your issuer.

A “CCBILL.com” charge usually means CCBill processed a payment for another website or service; it does not identify the merchant by itself. The $39.95 amount alone cannot tell you which subscription it came from or whether it was authorized. Check the transaction through CCBill’s official support page, cancel any subscription you do not want, and contact your card issuer promptly if you did not approve the charge.

What a CCBill.com charge means

CCBill is an online payment processor used by websites that sell subscriptions, memberships, digital content and other services. CCBill says that a statement reference to its name can relate to a purchase from a website that uses CCBill to process payments. The merchant—not necessarily CCBill—is generally responsible for providing the service and handling product support, according to CCBill’s consumer terms.

A bank statement may show the processor’s name rather than the website or brand you remember. “CCBILL.com” is a clue to follow up, not proof that a charge is fraudulent or legitimate. The $39.95 price does not identify a particular merchant: it could be a renewal, a plan that began after a trial, or another online service. Do not assume the charge came from a specific type of website without transaction-specific confirmation.

What “Recurring” means—and what it does not prove

“Recurring” generally means the payment method was authorized for repeated billing until the subscription is canceled or otherwise ends. CCBill’s terms describe ongoing authorization for recurring charges. The billing schedule and cancellation terms depend on the subscription; a recurring charge may be monthly or follow another schedule.

The label does not, by itself, prove that you authorized the subscription. Nor does canceling typically guarantee a refund for earlier payments. If the entry is marked pending, ask your bank or card issuer whether it is an authorization hold or a completed transaction; a pending item may not be handled as a posted charge.

Identify the subscription behind the charge

Start with the full transaction details rather than the amount alone. Keep a note of the charge date, exact descriptor, amount, whether it is pending or posted, the last four digits of the payment method, and any reference or transaction number shown.

  • Search your email inboxes and spam folders for “CCBill,” “CCBill.com,” “subscription,” “membership,” “receipt,” “trial,” and “39.95.”
  • Check account histories and password managers for subscription websites you recently used.
  • Ask other authorized users of the card whether they made the purchase.
  • Use the official CCBill consumer support page to search for the transaction. CCBill’s lookup asks for the purchase method and two matching details, such as an email address, card or account information, transaction ID, or subscription ID.

Only subscriptions associated with the exact details you enter may appear. If the lookup finds nothing, try another email address or payment method used at signup, or use a transaction or subscription ID if you have one. A failed search does not establish that the charge is fraudulent.

Cancel a subscription you do not want

  1. Go to CCBill Consumer Support.
  2. Select the purchase method when prompted, then enter two identifying details that match the original transaction.
  3. Locate the subscription and follow the cancellation instructions.
  4. Save the confirmation, screenshot, email, or reference number. Check the next statement for any further charges.

CCBill lists phone support at 1-888-596-9279, email at [email protected], live chat, and online support forms on its consumer page. It says consumer support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round. Use the official page to reach support rather than a number or link in an unsolicited message. If CCBill identifies the merchant, you can also contact that merchant directly.

Request a refund separately

Canceling stops future billing when cancellation is successful; it does not automatically refund a prior payment. CCBill’s terms place responsibility for fulfillment and product support with the merchant, so a refund request may need to go to the service provider. Refund eligibility depends on factors such as the merchant’s policy, authorization, timing, and the service used.

  1. Identify the merchant and cancel any active subscription.
  2. Ask the merchant for a refund. Include the charge date and amount, transaction or subscription ID, the email used at signup, and the reason for the request.
  3. If relevant, attach or refer to your cancellation confirmation. Keep copies of messages and responses.
  4. If you believe the charge was unauthorized, deceptive, or billed after cancellation, contact your card issuer or bank about disputing it.

If you did not authorize the charge

Contact CCBill through its official consumer page and ask it to identify the merchant and cancel any active subscription associated with the transaction. If a merchant is identified, contact it as well. Then notify your card issuer or bank promptly and ask how to dispute the charge. The issuer’s process and deadlines apply.

  • For a credit card, ask the issuer about its billing-error or unauthorized-transaction dispute procedure. The FTC provides general guidance on disputing credit-card charges.
  • For a debit card, contact your bank immediately because the money may have been withdrawn directly from your account and procedures can differ.
  • For a prepaid card or digital wallet, use the provider’s dispute process and contact the underlying card issuer if applicable.
  • Review recent statements for related transactions. If you suspect payment details or an account were compromised, ask the issuer whether the payment method should be replaced and secure relevant accounts.
  • In the U.S., you can report suspected subscription fraud to the FTC or your state attorney general.

The FTC advises consumers to contact the company, keep records of cancellation attempts, monitor statements, and dispute unauthorized charges or charges that continue after cancellation. Its guidance on free trials, auto-renewals, and negative-option subscriptions also explains what to do when a trial or introductory offer turns into paid billing.

If another charge appears after cancellation

Keep the cancellation confirmation and the later statement entry. Contact the merchant and CCBill with both records, and ask your issuer to dispute the later charge if it was not authorized. Consider asking the issuer about replacing the payment method if billing continues or you suspect the card details were compromised. Replacing a card is not a substitute for canceling the subscription or documenting a dispute, and it may not by itself end the merchant relationship.

Check trial terms before deciding what happened

If you find a receipt or signup email, look for the trial length, when paid billing begins, renewal frequency, recurring price, cancellation method, refund terms, and whether cancellation ends access immediately. A trial converting to a paid plan is not automatically unlawful; relevant questions include whether the recurring terms were disclosed, whether you agreed to them, and whether cancellation was workable.
