The $2,500 headline refers to Salinas, et al. v. Block, Inc. and Cash App Investing, LLC, Case No. 22-cv-04823, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The official Cash App Security Settlement Administrator contact page lists November 18, 2024 as the claim deadline.
That deadline has passed. The available administrator information does not support presenting the settlement as open for new claims today, or treating $2,500 as a standard or guaranteed award. It identifies the amount as a possible maximum for eligible claims involving documented losses; the full benefit rules are not established here.
Why you may have heard about a different Cash App payment
Block’s CFPB settlement website describes a separate matter involving certain historical Cash App customer-service and disputes practices from July 1, 2019 through January 16, 2025. It says checks began mailing June 8, 2026. That program is not the security settlement and does not reopen its 2024 claim deadline.
