Carryboy’s Toyota Hilux Champ motorhome was reported at ฿2 million—about US$54,625—in April 2024. That is a dated Thai-market reported starting price, not a current quote or a US sale price. The underlying Champ was reported from ฿459,000 (about US$12,550) in Thailand at the same time, which explains the headline’s roughly $10,000 truck framing.
What the $60,000 figure actually describes
The conversion is a compact motorhome built by Carryboy on the Toyota Hilux Champ, Toyota’s Thailand-market name for the IMV 0. New Atlas reported its starting price as ฿2 million (approximately US$54,625) on April 3, 2024. The dollar figure is an approximate conversion in that report, not a current price or confirmed price in another country. New Atlas’s 2024 report describes the vehicle and conversion.
New Atlas also reported a Thai starting price of ฿459,000 (about US$12,550) for the base Hilux Champ. Comparing that base-truck figure with the motorhome’s reported starting price illustrates the scale of the conversion cost, but it is not an apples-to-apples quote for a buyer: the figures are dated, and the motorhome is a completed camper conversion rather than the bare truck.
Toyota Thailand’s Hilux Champ conversion portal lists a ฿400,000–฿600,000 conversion range in its search extract. The available information does not establish that this range is for Carryboy’s complete motorhome configuration, so it should not be treated as a replacement price or added to the reported ฿459,000 truck price to calculate a total.

What the Carryboy conversion adds
Sleeping and living space
New Atlas describes a face-to-face dinette opposite a lengthwise sofa, with an elevated alcove bed above. The dinette seating slides back electrically and its table lowers to make a bed; a center mattress panel joins that sleeping area to the sofa in an L-shaped arrangement. With the alcove bed, the reported capacity is up to five people.
Bathroom, refrigeration, and cooking
The layout includes a wet bath with a toilet and shower. Its sink is outside the bathroom, and the report describes an 80-liter refrigerator and an available microwave between the sofa and the rear-corner bath. A 100-liter water tank and water heater are also reported. There is no indoor kitchen block: a sliding outdoor kitchen with a single-burner stove, sink, and stainless worktop is optional. New Atlas reported that option at ฿40,000 (about US$1,100) in 2024.

Power and other equipment
New Atlas reports a 3-kW generator as standard equipment, along with a 32-inch smart TV, 360-degree camera, powered retractable entry steps, rear cargo box, and rear ladder. An RV touchscreen system is described as available; it can control or display functions such as battery and water levels, water heating, lighting, optional air conditioning, the sliding dinette, and utility use.
The Titanium show model shown in the report included a lithium leisure battery, solar charging, and a hitch-mounted bike rack. Those are show-model features, not evidence that every conversion includes them. The report does not establish a specific battery model or enough electrical-system detail to recommend a replacement battery.

The truck underneath is Thailand-specific—and 2WD
Toyota launched the IMV 0 as the Hilux Champ in Thailand on November 27, 2023. Its official release highlights a Thailand-market long-wheelbase 2.4-liter diesel configuration with 2WD, and lists 5MT or 6AT transmission options. Toyota gives that version’s dimensions as 5,300 × 1,785 × 1,735 mm, with a 3,085 mm wheelbase, 2,790 kg curb weight, and one-tonne maximum load. These are specifications for the stated Thai configuration, not universal specifications for every market or version. Toyota’s launch release provides the market and vehicle details.
New Atlas says Carryboy’s motorhome uses the long-wheelbase Champ with the 2.4-liter diesel and automatic transmission, and reports that the Champ has no 4×4 option. Despite the camper’s adventure-oriented appearance, the described conversion is based on a 2WD truck.

What a buyer should verify before budgeting
- Current local price: Ask Carryboy or an authorized local seller for a written quote that identifies the truck and conversion configuration, taxes, delivery, and any options. The available reporting does not establish a current price or ordering process.
- Included equipment: Confirm whether the outdoor kitchen, microwave, touchscreen system, air conditioning, lithium battery, solar charging, and other desired items are included or optional. Show-model equipment should not be assumed to be standard.
