On April 29, 2016, Carphone Warehouse began selling the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in the UK in a new finish called Silver Titanium. The retailer’s offer was notable for the color’s reported UK exclusivity—not for new phone hardware—and its contract and SIM-free prices are historical, not current offers.
What Carphone Warehouse launched
Android Headlines reported that the Silver Titanium Galaxy S7 and S7 edge were available for collection in Carphone Warehouse stores around the country. The report described the finish as exclusive to Carphone Warehouse in the UK at that time. This was a retailer-specific color release, not the global launch of the Galaxy S7 family or a change to either phone’s specifications. Android Headlines’ April 29, 2016 report is the source for the availability and exclusivity claims.
The exclusivity was regional: Samsung’s US announcement listed Silver Titanium for the Galaxy S7 edge, while color lineups differed by market. The UK claim should not be read as worldwide exclusivity. The April report also contrasted the Silver Titanium models with white versions associated with EE, which it said were still at the preorder stage.
What the 2016 prices included
The April 29 report gave these contract prices for a 10GB 4G plan. It said the £36 monthly rate was available only until the following Wednesday; other tariffs were also available.

| Model | Upfront payment | Monthly payment | Stated allowance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S7 Silver Titanium | £59 | £36 | 10GB 4G data |
| Galaxy S7 edge Silver Titanium | £129 | £36 | 10GB 4G data |
The report does not state the contract length, so these figures are not enough to calculate a total contract cost. They describe the terms reported in 2016, not a present-day Carphone Warehouse tariff.
SIM-free prices and a printed error
The report listed the SIM-free Galaxy S7 at £549. For the SIM-free Galaxy S7 edge, it printed “£6329,” an apparent typographical error. The correct price is not confirmed by that source, so it should not be silently changed to £629 or treated as a verified figure. The report said Black Onyx and Gold Platinum models would cost the same as Silver Titanium.

How the two phones differed
The color option did not change the underlying models. Samsung’s announcement identified the Galaxy S7 with a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display and a 3,000mAh battery; the S7 edge had a larger 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with dual-edge functionality and a 3,600mAh battery. Both were specified with a 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera, 5MP front camera, IP68 water- and dust-resistance rating, fast wired and wireless charging, and microSD support. Regional variants could differ, including by market or operator.
At the reported contract prices, choosing the edge meant paying more upfront for the larger curved-edge display and larger battery. The available report does not provide enough contract detail to compare the models’ full costs.

How the color release fit the original launch
Samsung announced the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge on February 21, 2016, and its UK newsroom gave March 11 as their UK retail launch date. The April Silver Titanium availability therefore followed the phones’ original launch. Samsung’s UK announcement also described an earlier preorder promotion: customers preordering through Samsung’s online shop, Carphone Warehouse, or Vodafone could receive a Gear VR headset, subject to terms and conditions. That announcement does not establish that the promotion remained available with the later Silver Titanium stock.
Samsung’s official launch materials confirm the product family, UK launch timing and specifications; the April retailer availability, exclusivity and prices above come from the contemporary Android Headlines report. Neither source makes the 2016 offer a current buying option.
