Possibly—but the reported 40%-off Amazon promotion is targeted, not a benefit every Citi cardholder receives. A report published October 2, 2026 says eligible accounts may get 40% off an eligible purchase, up to $50, by activating the offer and applying at least 125 Citi ThankYou Points. Check your signed-in Amazon account: its displayed offer and checkout terms control.
What the reported Amazon offer includes
The Points Party reported that some Citi cardholders saw an Amazon promotion with these terms. They are reported offer details, not universal Citi benefits or publicly confirmed official promotion terms.

The Points Party’s October 2, 2026 report describes the promotion. Citi’s official ThankYou Reward FAQs confirm the general ability of eligible cardmembers to redeem points for eligible Amazon purchases, but do not establish eligibility for this targeted discount.

How to check for and use the offer
- Sign in to Amazon. Use the account where your eligible Citi card is linked and Shop with Points is set up. Citi says adding an eligible Citi card to Amazon automatically enrolls the cardmember in Shop with Points; some retailer flows may require account linking.
- Look for the promotion in that account. Confirm the discount rate, maximum savings, points minimum, eligible purchase terms, and expiration date shown to you.
- Activate it before checkout. Activation is required under the reported offer terms. If you do not see an activation option, do not assume the promotion applies.
- Apply at least the displayed points minimum. The report’s version requires at least 125 ThankYou Points. It says points do not have to cover the full order, but follow the terms shown in your account.
- Check the final total before placing the order. Confirm the discount appears and review the order total. If it is missing, pause and recheck eligibility and activation rather than assuming the discount will be applied later.
Citi’s Shop with Points explanation describes the underlying redemption option; linking a card or having Shop with Points does not guarantee access to this promotion.
How much are the points worth?
The 125-point minimum is a reported condition for this promotion, not a statement that 125 points have a fixed cash value. Citi says ThankYou Point value varies by card and reward. Check the point deduction and order total at checkout to judge the trade-off for your account; the reported discount alone does not establish a universal value for redeemed points.

Why you may not see 40% off
- The offer is targeted. It may not appear for every Citi cardholder or every Amazon account.
- Your account may show different terms. The report says some accounts may have a smaller discount; compare your displayed rate and cap rather than relying on another person’s offer.
- The purchase may not qualify. The available reporting does not enumerate eligible items, so rely on the promotion and checkout display for the product you selected.
- The offer may not be activated or applied. Activation is reported as necessary, and the discount should be visible in the order total before you place the order.
Which terms should you trust?
The Points Party’s October 2, 2026 report is the source for the 40% rate, $50 cap, 125-point minimum, activation requirement, targeting, and December 31, 2026 end date. Citi’s official pages support the general Shop with Points mechanism and warn that point values vary, but they do not confirm those promotional terms. Since availability is personalized and the offer is time-sensitive, use the offer page in your signed-in Amazon account and the final checkout display as your practical confirmation.
