Yes. You can sell supported Dogecoin (DOGE) through Robinhood Crypto, and the proceeds become cash in your Robinhood account. That cash may be available for trading before it is ready to withdraw to a bank: Robinhood says standard ACH settlement for crypto-sale proceeds can take up to five business days. Your order may also execute at a different price than the estimate, and selling DOGE for U.S. dollars can have federal tax consequences.
How to sell DOGE on Robinhood
Robinhood’s crypto guidance includes Dogecoin. Availability and trading limits can depend on your account and the platform’s current terms. In the app, the general sell flow is:
- Open Crypto.
- Search for and select Dogecoin (DOGE).
- Choose Buy or Sell, then select Sell.
- Enter the amount of DOGE or dollar value to sell.
- Use the Actions menu to confirm the order type.
- Review the order details and submit it if they are acceptable.
On Robinhood’s website, open the crypto asset, choose the sell action, enter the amount, review the order and submit. Follow the current screen prompts; labels and availability can vary by account or platform version. Robinhood’s instructions are at Buying and selling crypto and Crypto.
What price will you get?
The dollar amount shown before submission is an estimate, not a guaranteed execution price. Robinhood says a crypto market sell has a buffer of up to 5%: if the price falls more than that from the price when you placed the order, the order will not execute. Market orders still unexecuted after two minutes may be automatically canceled.

Market sell
A market order seeks execution at the available market price. It may be useful when execution matters more than setting a minimum price, but the final proceeds can differ from the estimate, and Robinhood’s stated buffer can prevent execution.
Limit sell
A limit order lets you set the minimum price you are willing to accept. It may not fill if the market does not reach that price. Review the order type, estimated proceeds and any applicable fees before submitting.

Robinhood says market orders and stop orders routed through exchange routing incur a taker fee; limit and stop-limit orders may be charged a maker or taker fee depending on processing. Exchange-routing rates vary with trailing 30-day volume, and routing can affect total costs. Check the fee information shown for your account and order rather than assuming a particular fee or dollar return.
When can you withdraw the sale proceeds?
Robinhood distinguishes cash available for activity inside the platform from cash available to withdraw to a bank. It says crypto-sale proceeds are available right away for purchases of stocks, options or more crypto. A bank withdrawal is a separate step: Robinhood says standard ACH settlement for crypto-sale proceeds can take up to five business days.

After the funds are eligible to withdraw, Robinhood’s transfer page lists standard ACH withdrawals as having no fee and says they are processed on Robinhood in one day; the receiving bank may take longer. That processing description is not a promise that sale proceeds will arrive in your bank the day after you sell. Account limits vary. See Transfer types.
Standard ACH or instant withdrawal?
| Route | Fee | Timing and conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Standard ACH | No fee, according to Robinhood’s transfer page | Crypto-sale proceeds may take up to five business days to settle before withdrawal; Robinhood lists one day of processing on its side after withdrawal, with additional time possible at the receiving bank. Limits vary by account. |
| Qualifying instant withdrawal | 1.75%, with a $1 minimum and $150 maximum per transaction, according to Robinhood’s withdrawal page | Only available for eligible debit cards or bank accounts. Check the option and fee displayed before confirming. |
These are the terms Robinhood states on its support pages; timing, account eligibility and limits can vary. For instant withdrawals, consult Instant withdrawals.

Can you transfer DOGE instead of selling it?
If your goal is to move DOGE to another wallet while keeping it as cryptocurrency, use Robinhood’s crypto send flow rather than selling. A transfer does not convert DOGE to cash. Robinhood says supported Dogecoin withdrawal addresses begin with “D” and use the P2PKH format. It charges a network fee for each on-chain transfer and shows an estimate before the transfer is finalized.
Check that the destination wallet supports the asset and address format, and verify the address carefully before sending. A transfer to an incompatible or incorrect address can result in lost funds. See Robinhood’s crypto transfer instructions.

What taxes can apply when you sell DOGE?
For U.S. federal tax purposes, the IRS treats digital assets as property. Selling DOGE for U.S. dollars generally requires recognizing a capital gain or loss, subject to the rules and limitations that apply to capital losses. The result depends on your individual circumstances, including your basis and transaction details; a sale does not automatically mean you owe tax.
The IRS says sales and other dispositions of digital assets held as capital assets are reported on Form 8949, with the result summarized on Schedule D. Its FAQ answer A49, added December 15, 2025, states that a sale for U.S. dollars requires recognition of gain or loss subject to limitations on deducting capital losses. Read the IRS FAQ on digital asset transactions.
Robinhood says it uses FIFO (first in, first out) for the cost basis of crypto it sells. If you transferred DOGE into Robinhood from another source, Robinhood may not have the original acquisition date or basis and may estimate gain or loss using a zero cost basis and the date it received the asset. Compare Robinhood’s information with your own purchase and transfer records, and keep transaction documentation for tax reporting.
