No—Yelp does not offer a legitimate paid job for removing spam reviews, and paying someone to remove or manipulate a review conflicts with Yelp’s rules. You can report content you believe violates Yelp’s policies, but Yelp investigates and decides whether to remove it. A report is not a promise of removal.

Can you get paid to remove Yelp reviews?

Yelp’s U.S. Terms of Service prohibit users from compensating someone—or being compensated—to post, refrain from posting, or remove a review. The terms also say Yelp may screen, remove, edit, or reinstate user content at its discretion. Read Yelp’s U.S. Terms of Service.

Yelp’s Business Terms go further for businesses and their representatives: they prohibit paying or inducing anyone to post, modify, refrain from posting, or remove reviews, and prohibit offering incentives to obtain, prevent, or remove reviews. Yelp’s Business Terms.

That means an offer to pay you to take down Yelp comments is not a supported way to earn money through Yelp. Yelp’s Leads Program Agreement also bars partners from suppressing negative commentary, selectively favoring positive commentary, gating reviews, or making compensation conditional on writing, editing, or removing Yelp reviews. How to report a fake or spam Yelp review

If a review appears to violate Yelp’s Terms of Service or Content Guidelines, report it through Yelp rather than paying an outside service to remove it. Yelp’s 2021 Trust & Safety Report describes consumers and business owners reporting reviews they believe violate those rules. Yelp’s User Operations team investigates flagged content and may remove a review if it finds a policy violation. Yelp Trust & Safety Report 2021.

The report describes the general process, not a verified current interface path. Look for Yelp’s reporting option on the review or use Yelp’s current support guidance; button labels and screens can change. Explain the specific policy concern plainly and provide relevant details. A review being harsh or unfavorable, by itself, does not establish that it violates policy.

What happens after you report a review?

Yelp decides whether reported content breaks its rules. Reporting flags a review for consideration; it does not transfer removal authority to the person reporting it. Yelp’s U.S. terms state: “We reserve the right to screen, remove, edit, or reinstate User Content at our sole discretion for any reason or no reason, and without notice.”

So do not treat a report as a guaranteed takedown, and do not promise a business that you can secure one. Yelp’s 2021 report explains that its User Operations team investigates reports and may remove content that violates policy, but that account does not guarantee an outcome in any individual case.

Can a business pay someone to delete a Yelp review?

Yelp’s Business Terms prohibit paying or inducing anyone to remove, change, or otherwise manipulate reviews. They also say that buying advertising or other paid features does not change how Yelp displays reviews. In Yelp’s words, “any purchase of advertising or other paid features from Yelp does not and will not influence the Recommendation Software or otherwise allow or enable You, directly or indirectly, to alter reviews or impact whether, where, or how reviews appear on Yelp.”

Accordingly, paying Yelp for advertising is not a review-removal route, and hiring a third party to remove a review is not a policy-compliant workaround. The business terms cited here are from Yelp’s Canadian terms page; the separate U.S. consumer terms independently prohibit compensated removal by users.

How to evaluate offers promising paid or guaranteed removal

  • Be skeptical of guaranteed outcomes. Yelp retains control over content decisions, so an outsider cannot make Yelp’s removal decision binding.
  • Do not pay for review manipulation. Compensated removal, suppression, or alteration conflicts with the cited Yelp terms and partner rules.
  • Use the reporting route for suspected violations. Report the content to Yelp and let its team assess it; do not present the report as a guaranteed result.

Yelp’s 2024 ESG report says it placed 99 Compensated Activity Alerts on business pages in 2023 after detecting offers of cash or other incentives for writing, changing, preventing, or removing reviews. That is a historical alert count for 2023—not the number of paid removal jobs or opportunities, and not a current-year figure.
