No. Customers must sign in to a Google Account to publish a Google Maps review. They can read public reviews without posting, but Google does not allow anonymous reviews. A custom public display name can change how a contribution appears; it does not remove the sign-in requirement.
Why signing in is required
Google’s Maps instructions direct contributors to sign in before using the Contribute tab, and its review instructions explain how to post ratings and comments. On a computer, Google’s review flow begins with signing in to Google Maps. On Android, customers find the place, open its Reviews tab, select a star rating, and can optionally write about their experience.
That account requirement applies to publishing the review. It does not mean a customer must sign in just to read reviews that are public.
Can a customer post anonymously?
No. Google says, “All reviews are public and anyone can find what you add,” and states that users are unable to add an anonymous review. A reviewer can choose a custom display name and picture for public contributions, including reviews, but the post is still public and associated with a Google Account. A changed display name is not anonymous posting.

What businesses can do to make reviewing easier
A business can create a Google review link or QR code from its Business Profile. Sharing that destination makes the review flow easier to reach, but it does not let customers post without signing in.

Share a review link
Google suggests sharing the link through email, WhatsApp, or Facebook. A business can also add it to receipts, thank-you emails, or the end of a chat.
Display a QR code in person
For an in-person location, Google recommends printing and displaying the QR code in the store. A tabletop QR code display or review QR code sign can make an existing business-generated code visible at a counter; it does not create the Google link or remove the account requirement. Google says review QR codes can currently be generated in a computer browser, not on mobile devices.

Ask for genuine reviews, not incentivized ones
Google says reviews and other contributions must reflect a genuine experience. Businesses may ask customers to leave a review, but Google prohibits offering free or discounted goods or services in exchange for one. Do not make a benefit conditional on posting or try to buy a review. Google’s Business Profile guidance covers sharing review requests and the applicable rule.
