The Calgary Stampeders beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 37–31 in Regina on Friday, October 2, 2026. Vernon Adams Jr. threw four touchdown passes as Calgary extended its winning streak to three games and took the season series. The Riders scored three touchdowns in the final 2:42, but missed all three two-point conversions.
How Calgary built its lead
Calgary took advantage of a Saskatchewan mistake early. After Quali Conley fumbled a punt, the Stampeders recovered at the Riders’ 34-yard line, and Clark Barnes scored two plays later on a 13-yard catch.
Barnes added another first-half touchdown, and Damien Alford caught a 48-yard scoring pass. Rene Paredes kicked a 51-yard field goal. Saskatchewan’s first-half touchdown came on a 23-yard catch by Kian Schaffer-Baker, leaving Calgary ahead 17–10 at halftime.
The Stampeders carried a 20–13 lead into the fourth quarter. Adams connected with Erik Brooks for a 19-yard touchdown with 9:13 left, then found Jalen Philpot for a four-yard score with 5:19 remaining. Those two touchdowns pushed Calgary’s lead to 34–13.

Harris produced the larger passing total, while Adams threw the same number of touchdown passes on fewer attempts. The difference in passing volume did not change the result: Calgary’s two fourth-quarter touchdowns had opened a 21-point lead before Saskatchewan’s late scoring.
Challenges helped Calgary preserve momentum
Calgary head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson won challenges on an illegal block downfield and a pass-interference call. The latter review left an interception by Calgary defensive back Ashton Miller-Melancon standing; the Stampeders later scored on Philpot’s touchdown.

“They ended up being good for us, they kept momentum on our side,” Dickenson said of the challenges. He credited help from Marcus Howell upstairs and added, “I was pretty confident.” On Calgary’s finish, he was more direct: “I didn’t like how we finished,”
