A refurbished Lenovo ThinkStation P620 can be a capable workstation, but “P620” alone does not tell you what you are buying. Compare the exact components and condition, and verify warranty coverage by serial number before paying. The title’s “SOLD,” “FS” and “a few other things” do not identify a specific seller, unit, bundle or sale terms, so no particular offer or price can be confirmed.

What a refurbished P620 can include

The ThinkStation P620 is a configurable workstation platform, not one fixed specification. Lenovo lists processor options from Threadripper PRO 3000 and 5000 series; the parts fitted vary by model and individual machine. Lenovo’s P620 model reference lists choices including the 3945WX, 3955WX, 3975WX, 3995WX, 5945WX, 5955WX, 5965WX, 5975WX and 5995WX.

For scale, Lenovo’s 2026 P620 reference lists a 5995WX configuration with up to 64 cores and 128 threads. A separate example, model 30E0019MHX, has a 5955WX processor, 64 GB of DDR4-3200 ECC registered DIMM (RDIMM) memory, an RTX 4000 Ada Generation GPU and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. Those are examples, not specifications guaranteed in every refurbished P620.

Compare the exact machine, not just the model name

Ask for a complete component list for the unit being sold. Marketplace listings can differ substantially in components and condition labels, and one seller’s description does not establish what another unit includes. Marketplace search results show varied P620 configurations and labels such as “Very Good – Refurbished” and “Excellent – Refurbished.” Treat the condition label as a listing description, not a substitute for details about the machine.

  • Processor: Get the full Threadripper PRO model number; the P620 name alone does not establish core count or generation.
  • Graphics card: Confirm the exact GPU and its memory rather than relying on a generic “workstation graphics” description.
  • Memory: Confirm total capacity, module population and that it is ECC RDIMM memory.
  • Storage: Check drive type, capacity and whether the listed storage is installed in the unit.
  • Operating system: Ask which OS is installed and whether its license is included.
  • Included items: Confirm whether the power cable, keyboard or other accessories are part of the sale.
  • Condition and recourse: Ask what cosmetic or functional condition means for this unit, and read the seller’s return terms.
  • Warranty: Identify the provider, service type, duration and whether coverage is confirmed for this serial number.

Check memory compatibility before budgeting for upgrades

Lenovo’s P620 specifications describe DDR4-3200 ECC registered DIMM memory, eight DIMM slots and an eight-channel-capable arrangement. Lenovo’s 2025 model configuration reference describes the slots and memory architecture. The platform’s capabilities do not reveal how a particular refurbished machine is populated, or which upgrades are suitable for it. Get the installed module count and configuration, then check compatibility for the exact machine before buying additional memory.

Verify warranty coverage by serial number

Lenovo’s P620 reference states a three-year limited onsite base warranty, with model-specific upgrades possible. That is a platform-level warranty description, not proof that a used machine still has time remaining. Lenovo directs owners to check a machine’s warranty status using its serial number.

  1. Ask the seller for the machine’s serial number before purchase.
  2. Enter it on Lenovo’s warranty lookup page and review the status shown for that specific machine.
  3. Ask the seller to put any reseller warranty in writing, including its duration and service terms, and read the return policy before paying.

Do not treat a seller’s “with warranty” wording as confirmation of Lenovo coverage. Establish who provides the coverage and what it includes; a reseller’s written promise and Lenovo’s serial-specific warranty status are separate facts.

Is a refurbished P620 worth buying?

It may be worth considering if the disclosed configuration suits your workload, the condition and included items are clear, the return terms are acceptable, and you can verify the warranty arrangements. The available information does not establish a particular seller, unit, location, configuration, price or warranty, so it cannot support a verdict on the “SOLD – FS” offer itself. Compare actual listings on their component lists and protections rather than assuming that machines carrying the same P620 name are equivalent.
