Ltd. in April 2024 after an open beta announced in January. It is not a new August 2026 launch. Bunzz’s current website advertises reports within 48 hours, starting at approximately $1,990 per report, with more than 100 vulnerability checks. Those are vendor claims, not independent measurements of detection accuracy or security.
For most teams, Bunzz Audit is best understood as a rapid, lower-cost security layer or pre-audit review. It should not be treated as proof that a contract is safe or as a universal replacement for an experienced human auditor.
What Bunzz Audit actually launched
Bunzz’s January 2024 announcement described an open beta. The formal product launch followed in April 2024, when Bunzz presented Bunzz Audit as an AI-assisted service for projects that need early or budget-conscious smart-contract review. The launch release said the system combines an AI engine with a database of vulnerability patterns.
The launch announcement described two broad scopes:
#1 Best Overall
- Code-focused auditing: automated examination of contract code against known vulnerability patterns.
- Comprehensive auditing: code review plus examination of project-specific logic by professional auditors.
The distinction matters. “AI-powered audit” does not necessarily mean an AI system independently understands every economic, operational and governance assumption in a protocol. Bunzz’s own launch description separates broad automated checking from optional professional review of project-specific logic.
See Bunzz’s April 2024 launch announcement and its January 2024 open-beta announcement.
What the AI is intended to do
Bunzz says its system compares Solidity code with known vulnerability patterns and can examine more than 100 vulnerability categories. That number is a vendor-defined checklist claim; it is not an industry standard and does not establish precision, recall, exploitability or coverage of novel flaws.
In practical terms, an AI-assisted scan can be useful for:

- Repeated checks for familiar coding mistakes.
- Rapid triage of a large repository.
- Explanations and prioritization of possible findings.
- Developer feedback while code is still changing.
- Generating a list of issues for a subsequent human review.
Pattern matching is different from proving that a protocol’s design is economically safe. A report can identify a suspicious external call yet miss that a price oracle becomes manipulable during a particular sequence of transactions, or flag harmless code as dangerous because it lacks project context.
Current price and turnaround claims
On August 18, 2026, Bunzz’s main site advertised delivery “within 48hr”, a starting price of approximately $1,990 per report, more than 100 vulnerability checks, and claims of 90% savings and 20-times-faster delivery compared with human audits. These figures appear on Bunzz’s current website and should be read as marketing claims rather than independently verified performance.
| Figure | What it means | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| About $1,990 | Current advertised starting price | Price signal seen August 18, 2026; exact scope and exclusions require written confirmation. |
| Within 48 hours | Current advertised report turnaround | A delivery time does not demonstrate depth, accuracy or completeness. |
| $1,791 | Historical launch price | April 2024 price after a 10% promotional discount; availability in 2026 is not established. |
| 100-plus checks | Advertised vulnerability coverage | Vendor-defined categories, not an independently validated benchmark. |
The April 2024 release also said conventional firms could charge between $10,000 and $1 million and described Bunzz’s launch offer as roughly 10 times cheaper and faster. Audit prices vary widely with contract count, complexity, chain, compiler, integrations, formal-verification requirements, auditor reputation and scope, so those historical comparisons are not a universal market price table.
What a buyer must confirm before paying
Public launch material confirms code-only and code-plus-project-logic options, but it does not establish that every item below is included in the base price. Ask for a written scope tied to a commit hash.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Code and architecture
- Are the complete repository, inherited contracts, libraries and dependencies included?
- Are proxy contracts, implementation contracts, initialization paths and upgrade authorities reviewed?
- Which Solidity compiler versions and EVM chains are supported?
- Does the review cover deployment scripts and configuration, not just source files?
Protocol and operational context
- Are oracle assumptions, liquidation rules, fees, slippage and rounding examined?
- Are privileged roles, multisig controls, emergency pauses and governance analyzed?
- Are bridges, relayers, keepers, signatures, front ends and other off-chain components in scope?
- Are economic attacks and market-manipulation scenarios tested?
People, deliverables and follow-up
- Does a named, qualified human review AI-generated findings, or is human review optional?
- Does each issue include severity, source location, exploit scenario and remediation?
- Is there a remediation review after fixes?
- Is the report private, or is there a public certificate? Is it tied to the exact deployed bytecode?
- How are uploaded code and prompts stored, and are third-party AI providers involved?
- What happens when the code, compiler, dependency, oracle or deployment changes?
Where AI-assisted auditing helps
A fast scan is particularly useful during development, when a team can run checks repeatedly after changes rather than waiting for a single review at the end. It can provide a cheaper first filter for small projects, help developers understand warnings, and give a specialist auditor a structured list of areas to investigate.
Static analysis, unit tests, fuzzing and invariant tests remain important complements. Tools such as Slither provide developer-controlled static analysis, while Foundry supports testing, fuzzing, invariant testing and deployment workflows. Neither tool, nor an AI report, is by itself a complete protocol audit.
Where AI still struggles
The hardest failures are often not isolated syntax mistakes. They arise from interactions among contracts, assets, administrators, oracles and market conditions.
- Incorrect accounting, share-price or exchange-rate calculations.
- Stale or manipulable oracle assumptions.
- Flash-loan, composability and cross-contract attacks.
- Upgrade, initialization and storage-layout errors.
- Governance capture and privileged-admin abuse.
- Reentrancy involving external protocols.
- Insolvency, bad debt and liquidation failures.
- Unexpected token behavior, fee or rounding errors.
- Emergency recovery paths that fail under stress.
- Bridge, cross-chain, relayer, signature and front-end weaknesses.
- Economic designs that follow the code but are unsafe for users.
A 2026 re-evaluation of AI agents for smart-contract security found that results changed substantially by model, scaffold, task and dataset. Agents detected up to 65% of vulnerabilities in a real-world incident set, but did not reliably construct end-to-end exploits across all tested cases. The study also warned that some earlier benchmark results may have benefited from models seeing older audit-contest data. Its conclusion supports human-in-the-loop use rather than full substitution: 2026 evaluation of AI agents.

Other research is promising but should not be confused with proof about a commercial product. The Heimdallr preprint reported reconstruction of 17 of 20 post-June-2025 real-world attacks in its own evaluations, along with claimed reductions in analysis time and cost. Those are controlled research results, not independent validation of Bunzz Audit: Heimdallr research.
Who should consider Bunzz Audit?
- Early-stage teams seeking rapid feedback before a larger audit.
- Developers iterating frequently and needing repeatable checks.
- Small projects for which an expensive specialist engagement is not yet practical.
- Teams that will combine the report with tests, fuzzing, manual review and remediation verification.
Who should not rely on it alone?
Use a stronger independent review for protocols holding substantial user funds, bridges, lending and derivatives systems, complex upgradeable architectures, major token launches, or projects seeking credibility with investors, exchanges, insurers or launchpads. These systems depend heavily on economic modeling, deployment controls and adversarial reasoning that a checklist may not capture.
Upgradeable contracts require review of the implementation, proxy, initialization process, upgrade authority and future upgrade procedure. A fork or clone also needs its own review because configuration and integrations can change the risk. A review on one EVM chain does not automatically establish safe behavior on another.
How to use an AI report safely
- Freeze the reviewed commit and record compiler settings, dependencies and deployment configuration.
- Classify every finding as confirmed, false positive or unresolved; do not dismiss warnings solely because the explanation sounds confident.
- Reproduce important issues with tests, fuzzing or a proof-of-concept where appropriate.
- Have a qualified human examine business logic, economic assumptions, privileges, oracles and integrations.
- Apply fixes, then obtain a remediation review covering the changed code.
- Repeat the review after material upgrades, dependency changes, new chains or new integrations.
- Continue monitoring after deployment; an audit report is not a guarantee against later attacks or administrative compromise.

Bottom-line assessment
Bunzz Audit’s strongest defensible proposition is accessibility: a current advertised starting price near $1,990 and a claimed 48-hour report can make an initial review easier to budget and schedule. Its central limitation is evidentiary. The public claims do not establish false-negative rates, exact technical coverage or the amount of human review included.
Use it as one layer in a security process—continuous developer testing, rapid AI-assisted triage, specialist human review before material funds are deployed, and a remediation check afterward. Do not equate “100-plus checks,” a 48-hour delivery or a passing report with a guarantee that the protocol is secure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the $1,791 Bunzz Audit price still current?
No current availability is established. It was a 10% promotional price in the April 2024 launch announcement; Bunzz’s website displayed approximately $1,990 per report on August 18, 2026.
Does Bunzz Audit replace a conventional smart-contract audit?
Not generally. Evidence supports using AI for pattern checks and triage, while human specialists remain important for protocol logic, economic attacks, deployment risk and novel vulnerabilities.
