Bluehost WordPress Hosting Deal: How to Verify the Price Before You Buy

The old $2.95 Bluehost WordPress hosting offer is not confirmed as active. Here’s how to verify the checkout price, renewal, eligibility and included features.

The “Special Offer for WordPress Users” title points to an older Bluehost hosting promotion, not a general WordPress coupon. The associated page advertises a $2.95-per-month deal, but it does not establish that the offer is still available on August 18, 2026. Treat that price as unverified: confirm the plan, full amount charged today, and renewal rate in Bluehost’s checkout before paying.

What is this WordPress offer?

The title appears to refer to WPCouponsDeals’ Bluehost $2.95-per-month deal. That page was crawled about 10 months ago, so it is evidence of an earlier promotion—not proof of a live offer today. Bluehost’s official WordPress hosting page is the place to check the current price and terms.

This is a hosting promotion, not a discount on WordPress software, and the available information does not verify a current price, plan, term, renewal rate, eligibility rule, expiration date, or U.S.-specific offer. Do not rely on the old $2.95 figure, a percentage-off claim, or a third-party coupon page as confirmation. One current-looking coupon page lists several conflicting discounts and prices, so its figures should be treated as publisher claims rather than verified checkout terms: WPism’s Bluehost coupon page.

It may be a referral link, not a code

The referenced deal is presented as a signup offer. Another coupon page describes a discounted link rather than a code to enter. A referral URL may apply a price automatically, but the amount can change when you select a plan or term, add products, or leave the landing page. A publisher may also earn a commission if you buy through its link. Check the vendor’s final checkout screen rather than assuming a page title guarantees a discount.

What to verify before you pay

Because the promotion’s live terms are not established, there is no reliable promotional price or total to quote here. Record the actual values shown for your country, currency, selected plan, and billing term before entering payment details.

Check What to confirm
Eligibility Whether the offer is limited to new customers, a specific country or currency, or selected plans. Do not assume it applies to an existing account, renewal, upgrade, or additional site.
Initial term and charge The number of months covered and the full amount due now. A monthly equivalent may depend on paying for a long term in advance; it is not necessarily a month-to-month price.
Renewal The renewal amount, billing interval, and cancellation deadline. If checkout does not make the renewal rate clear, check the terms or ask Bluehost support before buying.
Domain Whether registration is included, which extensions qualify, how long the free period lasts, and the renewal and privacy-protection charges afterward.
Plan features Whether the selected plan includes the email, SSL, CDN, backups, migration, and other features you need. Provider-wide marketing descriptions do not guarantee that every feature is included in every plan.
Extras and taxes Review each selected add-on, its cost, and any taxes. Remove optional items you do not want before checking the final total.
Refund and cancellation Read the applicable refund policy and exclusions, including how domains, add-ons, renewals, and promotional purchases are treated.

How to check and claim the offer

  1. Open Bluehost’s official WordPress hosting page and check whether the advertised promotion appears for your region.
  2. Select the plan you actually intend to use, then choose a billing term. Do not compare monthly equivalents without noting how many months are charged upfront.
  3. Review the checkout total and write down the initial charge, term, renewal rate, domain terms, and included features. If renewal pricing or exclusions are unclear, pause and ask Bluehost support to confirm them in writing.
  4. Inspect selected add-ons and remove any you do not deliberately want. Recheck the total after making changes.
  5. Confirm any new-customer or regional eligibility rules, review the refund and cancellation terms, and save a copy of the offer terms before paying.
  6. After purchase, check that WordPress is installed, HTTPS/SSL and the domain are active, and any backups or other services you expected are enabled.

If the price disappears, try the official vendor page in a private browser window, check whether country, currency, referral source, billing term, or add-ons affect it, and ask Bluehost support to verify the offer. Do not substitute a code from another site unless Bluehost confirms it applies to your plan.

WordPress hosting is not the same as WordPress.com

WordPress.org distributes the WordPress software; a self-hosted site needs a hosting provider. WordPress.com is a hosted service with its own plans and billing. A Bluehost hosting signup generally concerns a self-hosted WordPress.org installation, not a WordPress.com subscription. WordPress.org’s support discussion explains the distinction: WordPress.org or WordPress.com and Bluehost.

WordPress.org’s hosting recommendations currently list Bluehost, Hostinger, and Pressable. The listing describes Bluehost’s offering generally, including preinstalled WordPress, an AI site builder, a free domain, email, SSL, built-in CDN, and 24/7 support; confirm which items apply to the plan you select. A recommendation is not confirmation that a particular coupon is active or that the least expensive plan suits every site. WordPress.org also says some listed providers may return referral fees to support the WordPress project.

Is Bluehost a good fit for your site?

Potentially suitable

  • A first-time blogger or small business launching a straightforward site.
  • A price-sensitive beginner who values a guided setup and is comfortable with the verified upfront commitment and renewal terms.
  • A small, early-stage WooCommerce shop whose traffic and operational needs fit the plan’s actual resource limits.

Look beyond the headline price

  • High-traffic publishers and stores with demanding checkout, inventory, integrations, or background jobs should investigate capacity and support rather than relying on “WordPress optimized” language.
  • Agencies and developers may need staging, SSH or WP-CLI access, object caching, reliable backups, restoration, and control over server resources.
  • Anyone unwilling to prepay for a long term or unable to absorb a higher renewal bill should compare shorter-term options and total costs.

For a WooCommerce store, ask about PHP workers, memory limits, object caching, staging, backups, and support for payment, shipping, inventory, and scheduled-task integrations. A basic shared plan may suit a small shop but can be a poor match for a larger catalog, frequent orders, or many concurrent visitors.

Compare the kind of hosting, not just the discount

Option What it is suited to What to check
Bluehost A beginner seeking a bundled self-hosted WordPress setup and an introductory offer, if the checkout terms work for their budget. Plan-level features, upfront commitment, renewal cost, and resource limits.
Hostinger A budget-conscious shopper comparing WordPress-focused hosting. Local currency, eligibility, included features, renewal terms, and required prepayment. A third-party coupon page lists India-specific prices that should not be applied to U.S. shoppers: GrabOn’s Hostinger coupon page.
Pressable A business or agency prioritizing managed WordPress operations over the lowest entry price. Plan capacity and price; WordPress.org describes staging environments, automatic backups, global edge caching, and 24/7 expert support on its hosting page.
WordPress.com Someone who prefers a hosted WordPress experience without managing a separate hosting account. Plan-specific plugin, export, and platform constraints. It is a hosted service, not the same product as self-hosted WordPress.org on Bluehost.

Entry-level shared hosting is usually simpler and cheaper but shares server resources. Managed WordPress hosting typically adds WordPress-specific operations and support at a higher cost. Cloud or VPS hosting can offer more control and scaling options, but also requires more configuration responsibility. Choose based on the site’s needs and your tolerance for maintenance, not a discount percentage alone.

Check the technical baseline and operational details

WordPress.org recommends PHP 8.3 or later, MariaDB 10.11 or later or MySQL 8.0 or later, and HTTPS; Apache or Nginx is recommended. WordPress may still run on PHP 7.4+ and MySQL 5.5.5+, but WordPress.org identifies those older versions as past official end of life and not recommended for security. See the current WordPress requirements. Ask a host what the selected plan runs and how it handles updates.

Before moving an existing site, check whether migration covers your site size, control panel, email, database, and custom server setup. Take a complete backup and test the migrated site before changing DNS. A migration offer may have limits; do not assume “free migration” includes every part of a complex site.

Keep renewal and add-on costs in view

An introductory monthly equivalent can conceal a large upfront payment and a different renewal rate. Compare the complete initial charge with the charge that follows the promotional term, and consider setting a reminder well before renewal so you can assess alternatives in time. A free-domain offer may cover only an eligible domain’s initial registration period; renewals, privacy, transfers, and premium extensions can be charged separately. Refund guarantees can also exclude domains, add-ons, some services, or renewals, so read the policy that applies to the plan rather than treating a promotion as risk-free.

At checkout, look for optional backup services, security scanning, SEO tools, premium email, domain privacy, or dedicated IP addresses. Keep an add-on if you need it and understand its cost; otherwise remove it and make sure you have another way to meet the requirement.
