The X1 Miner beta was a real 2024 product-development milestone, but the evidence does not establish profitable phone mining, a live tradable token, or investment value. BlockDAG said it submitted the app to Apple and Google on May 31, 2024, announced store publication on June 3, and continued testing and fixes through late June. Its own June 28 update said the displayed devnet rewards were not real or tradable at that stage. The same June 19, 2024 news report also bundled a historical UNI price snapshot with Aptos Hack Holland, a separate developer event—not evidence validating BlockDAG.
What the June 19, 2024 story actually combined
The TechBullion article published on June 19, 2024 joined three unrelated developments: BlockDAG’s consumer-facing X1 Miner beta, a short-term observation about Uniswap’s UNI token, and Aptos Hack Holland. They share a broad theme of crypto experimentation, but there is no evidence that UNI’s price movement caused the app launch or that an Aptos hackathon validated BlockDAG.
Because the underlying announcements and market figures date from 2024, this is historical context rather than a current statement about BlockDAG’s 2026 app availability, token price, presale, mainnet, or rewards.
BlockDAG X1 Miner: submission was not the same as a working network
BlockDAG’s May 31 development release said an X1 Miner beta build had been submitted to Apple’s App Store and Google Play, pending approval (BlockDAG’s May 31 update). On June 3, the project said the beta had been published on both stores, while warning that regional availability could take up to 72 business hours (June 3 publication update).

| Milestone | What the cited evidence establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| May 31 submission | BlockDAG said it sent a beta build to Apple and Google. | Approval, availability in every country, or operational network utility. |
| June 3 publication announcement | BlockDAG said the app was published; regional rollout could take up to 72 business hours. | That every reader could download it or that the app was production-ready. |
| Late-June updates | Testing, compliance work, performance work, and store-submission tasks continued (June 24 update; June 26 update). | An independently audited, completed mainnet product. |
BlockDAG’s feature descriptions included onboarding, an “Activate BlockDAG X1” control, a BDAG balance, FAQ and settings screens, account deletion, referral groups, a leaderboard, and mining in a devtest environment (June 18 feature update). The June 17 description said users could compare their standing with 49 other users and activate once every 24 hours (June 17 process update).
What “mining” meant in the beta
The article claimed the app could produce up to 20 BDAG coins per day and operate with little battery or data use. Those were promotional claims, not independently demonstrated output or laboratory measurements.

The documented workflow looks unlike proof-of-work mining performed by a phone. Users activated the app once every 24 hours, while backend systems handled the process. In practical terms, it resembles participation-based reward allocation—described by BlockDAG as “proof of engagement”—rather than a handset calculating hashes against a public chain.
- No cited source demonstrates a phone’s hash rate, electricity cost, or independently reproducible payout.
- A store listing does not prove that a blockchain is live, decentralized, transferable, or economically valuable.
- Battery and data behavior can vary with device, operating system, background restrictions, notifications, and app updates.
The key economic caveat: devnet coins were not tradable
BlockDAG’s June 28 update explicitly said the devnet BDAG rewards were “not real” and could not be traded at that time (June 28 reward qualification). The project described a planned progression from devnet to testnet and later mainnet, with possible airdrop or migration treatment under its roadmap. Planned conversion is not the same as a completed withdrawal right.

That distinction rules out describing the beta as passive income, guaranteed earnings, or an equivalent to Bitcoin mining. A balance visible inside an app may be points, devnet units, or an allocation subject to eligibility and snapshot rules until a functioning wallet, transferable asset, and redemption path are demonstrated.
Testing and security claims need careful interpretation
BlockDAG said it ran an internal bug-bounty program and used community feedback to find vulnerabilities and performance issues (June 21 bug-bounty update). It later called the application “bug-free” and ready for launch (June 27 launch-readiness update).

Those statements describe the project’s own testing and status. They are not an independent security audit, formal verification, penetration-test report, or financial due-diligence opinion. App-store approval, even if granted, evaluates distribution requirements; it does not certify token economics, custody, smart-contract safety, privacy, or profitability.
Aptos Hack Holland was a developer event, not an Aptos breach
The report described Aptos Hack Holland as a Web3 competition for the Aptos ecosystem, with categories including NFTs, DeFi, and public goods, scheduled for June 5–7, 2024. Since the TechBullion article appeared on June 19, those dates had already passed; calling the event “upcoming” was a chronology error.

Hack Holland was a hackathon and project-incubation setting, not a protocol upgrade and not evidence that Aptos had been hacked. Participation can show developer activity around an ecosystem, but it says nothing by itself about BlockDAG’s app, Aptos network security, or the investment prospects of either project. Developers seeking technical participation should use Aptos’ documentation at aptos.dev.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Was Uniswap really “stable”?
The article reported that UNI had fallen about 0.63% over the preceding week while gaining nearly 32% over the preceding month. Those figures were a time-bound snapshot around June 19, 2024, not current market data and not a durable measure of stability.
| Measure in the 2024 report | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Approximately –0.63% over one week | A short-period token-price observation tied to the article’s publication window. |
| Approximately +32% over one month | A historical monthly move that could change rapidly with market conditions. |
UNI price resilience is different from protocol stability. It does not establish uninterrupted uptime, safe smart contracts, deep liquidity in every pool, healthy governance, or low trading risk. Uniswap users face token, slippage, wallet, and smart-contract risks regardless of a particular month’s chart. Official protocol information is available at uniswap.org, and the trading interface is at app.uniswap.org.
Checks to complete before downloading or participating
- Verify the listing. Use the project’s official channels and confirm the developer identity, package name, permissions, and region rather than trusting a search advertisement or a copied logo.
- Identify the reward type. Determine whether the balance is devnet credit, testnet allocation, points, or a transferable mainnet token.
- Find the withdrawal path. Look for a functioning wallet, network, minimum withdrawal, fees, processing rules, and an actual redemption transaction—not just a future roadmap.
- Check funding requirements. Treat deposits, paid upgrades, presale purchases, and referral thresholds as separate financial decisions. A historical article cited more than $51.9 million raised and a $0.0122 token price, but those were promotional 2024 claims, not current verified prices.
- Review privacy and custody. Check what phone, account, device, referral, and usage data is collected, who controls the account, and whether keys are self-custodied.
- Separate testing from assurance. Look for an identifiable independent audit and its scope. An internal bug bounty or “bug-free” statement is not equivalent.
- Consider legal and tax treatment. Rewards and token transactions can have reporting or regulatory consequences that depend on jurisdiction.
- Watch for migration risk. Account balances, referral groups, eligibility rules, and conversion ratios can change before a testnet or mainnet launch.
How the three developments should be understood together
BlockDAG represented consumer-facing product experimentation; Aptos Hack Holland represented developer ecosystem building; and UNI’s movement represented market activity. That thematic grouping is the only defensible connection. None of the three independently proves the others’ security, utility, profitability, or investment merit.

For readers interested in conventional mining, compare hardware, electricity, hash rate, network difficulty, and payout data. For decentralized-exchange participation, evaluate custody, smart-contract exposure, liquidity, and slippage. For Web3 building, a developer program or hackathon is a more direct route than a consumer reward app.
