Blast is winding down, but it is not scheduled to shut off immediately. The Ethereum layer-2 network said on October 2, 2026, that it could not make the chain economically sustainable. The regular Blast interface was reported to support withdrawals through October 26, 2026; after that, users are expected to access assets through Blast bridge contracts on Ethereum. The October 26 date is an interface deadline, not a stated deadline for all asset access.
Why is Blast winding down?
Blast said the ongoing cost of maintaining the network exceeds the revenue it generates, and the team sees no credible path to economic sustainability. The Block reproduced the project’s explanation in its October 2, 2026 report. This is a wind-down announcement, not an immediate termination.
The economics contrast with Blast’s early growth. The Block reported that Blast raised $20 million in a November 2023 round led by Paradigm and Standard Crypto. Before its February 2024 mainnet launch, the network reportedly had more than $2 billion in total value locked (TVL) from nearly 200,000 early-access users. At the October 2, 2026 announcement, The Block cited DeFiLlama data showing a little over $32 million in TVL. These are figures reported at those specific points in time, not current measurements. What is the reported withdrawal schedule?
The timeline below reflects reporting of Blast’s announcement; it should not be read as confirmation that each step has happened. In particular, the reported Lido-asset process was an estimate, and its completion has not been established here.
| Stage | Reported timing and effect |
|---|---|
| Lido-asset withdrawals | Blast was expected to withdraw its Lido assets first, a process The Block said could take about a week. Withdrawals were expected to be temporarily unavailable during this period. The report did not verify that the process had completed. The Block |
| Regular withdrawals resume | After that process, withdrawals were expected to resume with a 24-hour delay. The Block |
| Regular Blast interface deadline | The regular interface was reported to remain available for withdrawals through October 26, 2026. The Block |
| After October 26 | Users are expected to interact directly with Blast bridge contracts on Ethereum. Crypto.news also reported that assets would remain accessible through those contracts. Crypto.news |
Can you withdraw after October 26?
The reported schedule distinguishes between the regular interface and the underlying ability to access assets. October 26, 2026, is the reported last day for the regular Blast interface—not a stated date after which assets become irrecoverable. After that date, the reported route is to interact directly with Blast bridge contracts on Ethereum.

Blast was reported to plan detailed instructions before the interface deadline, but their publication and contents have not been established here. Do not rely on an unverified contract address or step-by-step instructions. Check Blast’s current official channels before taking action, and confirm that any guidance applies to the asset and network involved.

What should Blast users do?
- Check Blast’s official channels for current status. Confirm whether the temporary withdrawal pause has ended, the 24-hour delay is in effect, and the detailed instructions have been published.
- Identify where your assets are held. Blast specifically asked users to move assets to Ethereum mainnet, including balances held in the Blast PWA. Follow the current official instructions for your situation.
- Use the regular interface before its reported deadline if it is available. The October 26 date applies to that interface; allow for the announced delay if it applies to your withdrawal.
- If acting after the interface deadline, verify the direct-contract route carefully. Use only contract details and directions confirmed through official Blast channels. The reporting identifies bridge contracts on Ethereum as the expected route, but does not provide verified addresses or a safe, complete transaction walkthrough.
